You can enter a Coinepay virtual card at Tresorit checkout when subscribing to an eligible paid plan. Before you start, check Tresorit’s card requirements, choose the right subscription, and make sure your real billing details are ready. This guide covers new sign-ups, upgrades from Basic, and what to check if payment is declined.
What you need before checkout
- A Tresorit plan: Basic is free and does not require a payment card. Tresorit SecureCloud’s private-use plans are Personal Lite, Personal Essential, and Personal Pro. Its business plans are Professional, Business, Business Pro, and Enterprise.
- A Coinepay account: Register and complete identity verification before using card services. You can then find your virtual card number, expiry date, and CVV in the Coinepay self-service dashboard or the Coinepay app.
- Your real account and billing details: Use your own identity and an accurate billing address. Check the plan’s billing period, currency, and total at Tresorit checkout before committing.
Tresorit says it accepts Visa, MasterCard, and American Express credit or debit cards, as well as PayPal. It does not accept disposable or one-time cards or cryptocurrency. These are merchant requirements, not a promise that any particular virtual card will be accepted. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets Tresorit’s card-type requirements before you buy. Tresorit uses EUR, USD, CHF, or GBP for billing depending on location; check the currency displayed for your purchase rather than assuming one will apply.
Choose the right Tresorit subscription
Start on Tresorit’s official pricing pages. Personal Lite, Personal Essential, and Personal Pro are SecureCloud options for private use. Professional is a one-user business plan; Business requires at least three users, and Business Pro requires at least five. Enterprise requires contacting Tresorit sales and is billed annually. Tresorit also lists separately priced Engage Professional, Engage Business, and Engage Enterprise plans, plus File Sharing Business and FileSharing Enterprise. Make sure you are checking out for the product line you actually need.
For plans offered online, review the monthly or yearly selection and the price shown for your location on Tresorit’s official pricing page and at checkout. Do not rely on an older price quoted elsewhere: the amount you authorize depends on the plan, billing period, and checkout details. If you only need to explore Tresorit without adding payment details, consider Basic instead of a paid-plan trial.
How to sign up and pay for Tresorit
- Prepare your Coinepay card. If you have not registered, create a Coinepay account and complete identity verification. Open your card details in the dashboard or the Coinepay app. Check your available balance against the total Tresorit presents, allowing for any applicable currency conversion or other charges shown by your providers.
- Select your Tresorit plan. On Tresorit’s official pricing page, choose the appropriate SecureCloud or other product line, plan, and available billing period. Select Try for free or Buy now, as offered for that plan.
- Enter account and billing information. Follow Tresorit’s sign-up prompts using your real details. If you choose a paid-plan trial, Tresorit says the trial lasts 14 days and requires payment details, but it does not charge you at registration. Review the terms and the date on which payment would become due.
- Complete the card checkout. Enter the Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date, and CVV in Tresorit’s card-payment fields. Provide the accurate billing information requested. Before submitting, verify the product, billing period, currency, and displayed total.
- Finish account setup and confirm the result. Complete any remaining Tresorit prompts. Check your Tresorit account and billing information to see whether the subscription or trial is active. Do not repeatedly resubmit a payment if its status is unclear; check your account first.
Merchant approval is determined at checkout. If Tresorit rejects the card or requires a different payment method, use the troubleshooting steps below rather than changing your identity or entering a made-up billing address.
How to upgrade an existing Basic account
You do not need to create a second Tresorit account just to move from Basic to a paid plan. In your existing account, go to Profile → Change plan → Upgrade. Choose the billing period, select Continue to checkout, enter your billing information and card details, then select Finish checkout. Review the amount and subscription terms before that final step.
After subscribing, the subscription owner can manage the plan, invoices, billing address, and payment methods under Admin Center → Billing. To replace a saved card, use Payment method → Change. If you are part of a team but cannot see these controls, ask the subscription owner to manage the billing settings.
What to do if Tresorit declines your card
Tresorit’s payment help uses the heading “My credit card was declined” and advises checking the card number, expiration date, CSC, and supported card type. CSC is the security code requested at checkout; for your Coinepay virtual card, check the CVV shown with its details. A decline does not identify a single cause, so work through these checks:
- Insufficient available balance: Compare the balance available for your card with the checkout total and currency. If you need to add funds, use the options shown in your Coinepay account, then try again once the funds are available. For a trial, also consider whether the card will have sufficient funds when the paid period begins.
- Incorrect card details: Re-enter the number, expiry date, and CVV from the current card display. Check for a transposed digit or an expired card. Do not keep trying an old card after replacing it in Coinepay.
- Billing-address mismatch: Review the name and address you entered at Tresorit checkout and correct any genuine typo. Use your real billing details; do not substitute an address in another country to try to pass a payment check.
- 3-D Secure or another authentication step: If checkout prompts you to verify the payment, follow the on-screen instructions and complete the check through the legitimate channel presented. If a verification page fails to load or the request times out, return to your account to check whether payment went through before retrying. Contact Coinepay support if you need help determining why an authentication attempt failed.
- Card-type or merchant checks: Tresorit’s accepted-card list excludes disposable and one-time cards. Ask Coinepay support to confirm your card meets Tresorit’s requirements; if the merchant still rejects it, ask Tresorit support which requirement caused the decline. Neither a card’s availability in your account nor a completed authentication step guarantees merchant acceptance.
- Region restrictions: Check that Tresorit permits subscriptions and billing changes in your location. Its published restrictions bar those actions in Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, Belarus, Russia, and Myanmar. Do not use a different address or another person’s account to get around a restriction.
If the card details and eligibility appear correct but checkout still fails, record the time, the plan you selected, and the message shown on screen. Share those details with Tresorit support for a merchant-side check and Coinepay support for help with the card. Avoid sending your full card number or CVV in a support message.
Manage renewal, cancellation, and refunds
Tresorit subscriptions renew automatically. The subscription owner can cancel through Admin Center → Billing → Modify plan → Cancel subscription → Proceed to cancel. Tresorit says paid features remain available until the end of the paid period, after which the account moves to Basic; it does not provide a full or prorated refund for unused paid time simply because you cancel.
For an initial direct purchase without a trial, Tresorit’s published refund policy allows a full-refund request within 7 days for customers outside the EU or 14 days for EU customers. A trial that converts to a paid subscription is not refundable under that policy. Check Tresorit’s current terms before purchasing, and set a reminder before a trial or renewal date if you need time to decide whether to continue.
