You can try using a Coinepay virtual card when subscribing directly to SiriusXM, but payment acceptance depends on SiriusXM’s checkout checks and the offer you choose. This guide covers what to prepare, how to complete checkout, and what to check if your card is declined.
Before you subscribe
First, choose the SiriusXM service for your location. U.S. customers can review plans on SiriusXM’s U.S. plans page; Canadian residents should use SiriusXM Canada. SiriusXM’s U.S. agreement covers satellite radio in the contiguous 48 states and Washington, D.C., with limited Puerto Rico coverage, while streaming also covers Alaska and Hawaii. Do not assume a subscription will work outside the applicable service area. Use your real identity and billing details throughout sign-up.
On the U.S. plans page, the principal car-plus-app choices are All Music and All Access. Other choices include All Access (App Only) and SiriusXM Sports Pass. All Music has optional Sports, News, and Talk add-ons, which are not sold without All Music. If you have a vehicle trial, find its Radio ID before starting: you will need it to register or sign in and select a plan that begins when the trial ends. SiriusXM Canada lists different plans, including Platinum, Music & Entertainment, Music Showcase, and All Access (App Only).
Review the plan’s current price, introductory period, renewal rate, taxes, and any applicable fees on the relevant SiriusXM plans page before committing. U.S. advertised offers may be limited to new subscribers or qualifying Radio IDs, and their terms say a credit card is required. Contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets an offer’s card requirement before you buy. A virtual card is not a way around SiriusXM’s eligibility or regional rules.
You must register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using its card services. In the Coinepay dashboard or mobile app, make sure your virtual card is available and that you can view its card number, expiry date, and CVV. Check the available balance against the amount SiriusXM shows at checkout, including taxes and any applicable fees. You can also manage your Coinepay account through its iOS app or Android app.
How to pay for a new SiriusXM subscription
- Choose the right SiriusXM plans page. Go to SiriusXM’s U.S. site or SiriusXM Canada, as appropriate for your actual residence and service. Compare the plans and select the subscription link for the one you want. If you are converting a vehicle trial, register or sign in using its Radio ID and follow the trial-to-paid-subscription prompts.
- Check the order details. Confirm whether the selection is for a car radio, app-only listening, or another offering. Read the displayed introductory and renewal terms. If you select All Music, check whether you have added Sports, News, or Talk; those add-ons change the total.
- Enter your account and billing details. Supply your real name, contact information, and billing address. Make sure the address and postal code you enter are accurate and consistent with the details associated with the payment card. Do not use an address from another region to try to qualify for an offer.
- Enter the card details. Copy the number, expiry date, and CVV from your Coinepay dashboard or app into SiriusXM’s card fields. Review every digit before continuing. If checkout requests an additional payment authentication step, complete the instructions shown rather than repeatedly resubmitting the form.
- Review and confirm. Check the amount due now, future billing terms, and any activation information shown for a vehicle plan. Submit the order only when those details are correct. Keep the confirmation for your records and check your SiriusXM account to verify the subscription appears there.
A temporary card authorization may appear while SiriusXM verifies payment details. SiriusXM says an authorization hold is not a charge; the card issuer determines how long it remains. If you see an unfamiliar entry, compare it with your SiriusXM order and card activity before attempting another purchase.
Paying or updating a direct-billed account
If SiriusXM bills you directly, sign in to its Online Account Center. The Billing tab shows billing details and balances. To replace the card on file, use Account Info → Payment Method → Update Your Payment Method, then enter your Coinepay card details and confirm the update. Check the next bill afterward; changing a saved card does not by itself establish that an overdue payment has been collected.
For a plan change, SiriusXM directs customers to Subscriptions → Manage → Modify → Change my plan. Choose a billing term, enter payment information if requested, review, and confirm. A changed vehicle subscription may need an activation signal. Billing frequency can be managed under Subscriptions → Manage → Modify.
If you purchased the subscription through Apple, Google Play, Roku, or another billing provider, manage its payment method with that provider instead. Entering a card in SiriusXM’s direct-billing account will not necessarily update a third-party-billed subscription; that provider’s refund rules may also differ.
What to check if SiriusXM declines the card
A checkout rejection does not, by itself, identify the cause. Some users have reported messages such as “we were unable to authorize your credit card. Please update your payment information” and “we were unable to process your payment, please update your information.” These are user-reported messages, not verified decline codes. Work through the checks below rather than guessing what the message means.
- Insufficient available balance: Compare the available amount in Coinepay with the full SiriusXM checkout total, not just an advertised introductory price. Account for displayed taxes, fees, and any add-ons. If funds are insufficient, resolve that in Coinepay before trying again.
- Billing-address mismatch: Recheck your real billing address, postal code, name, card number, expiry date, and CVV. Correct a typo in the appropriate account or checkout field; do not substitute someone else’s details or an address in another country.
- Additional authentication: If an authentication screen appears, follow its prompts and check whether a verification request is waiting in your card account. If the step fails or never appears when expected, contact Coinepay support with the time and amount of the attempt. Do not assume every SiriusXM transaction uses 3-D Secure.
- Offer or region checks: Confirm you are using the service and offer intended for your actual location and, for radio offers, that your Radio ID qualifies. U.S. advertised offers requiring a credit card may reject a card that does not meet that requirement. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets it before retrying, and ask SiriusXM to clarify any offer-eligibility issue.
If the card details and order are correct but payment still fails, avoid repeated rapid attempts. Check Coinepay card activity, then contact Coinepay support about the attempted transaction and SiriusXM about the checkout or account error. Share only the information each support team requests through its official channels; do not send your full card number or CVV in an ordinary message.
Understand renewals and cancellation
SiriusXM subscriptions can renew after an introductory period at the rate stated in the offer terms. For a U.S. direct-billed subscription, SiriusXM says to cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. Its help center directs customers to the Online Account Center’s Subscriptions tab, chat, or phone; the agreement also allows online cancellation of app-only subscriptions purchased directly.
Under SiriusXM’s U.S. audio terms, cancellation ordinarily prevents future charges at the end of the current billing period without a partial-period refund. Exceptions include a prorated refund on request for an initial monthly purchase cancelled within seven days, or for a non-monthly purchase or renewal cancelled within 30 days. Canadian cancellation and refund terms differ, including provincial exceptions, so check the Canadian agreement rather than applying the U.S. rule. If a third party billed you, follow that provider’s cancellation process.

FAQ
Can I use a Coinepay virtual card for a SiriusXM promotional offer?
It depends on the offer and checkout checks. U.S. advertised offers may require a credit card. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets that requirement before you buy.
Where do I change the card on my SiriusXM account?
For a U.S. direct-billed account, sign in to the Online Account Center and select Account Info → Payment Method → Update Your Payment Method. For third-party billing, update the card with that provider.
Why was my SiriusXM card payment declined?
Check your available balance against the full order total, then verify the card details and real billing address. Complete any requested authentication and confirm your offer and region eligibility. Contact support if the issue remains.
Do I need a Radio ID to subscribe?
You need the Radio ID when registering or signing in to convert a vehicle trial. An app-only subscription follows a different sign-up path.
