If you are setting up an online store with Lightspeed eCommerce, you may be able to use a Coinepay virtual card to pay your Lightspeed subscription. This guide covers what to prepare, how to enter the card during sign-up or in an existing account, and what to check if the payment is declined. Card acceptance depends on Lightspeed’s checkout and eligibility checks.
What you need before you start
- A Lightspeed eCommerce account or sign-up session. Start from Lightspeed’s official site and select the eCommerce option available for your business and location. Prices and available options vary by region; check Lightspeed’s official pricing page for current details.
- Accurate business and billing information. Use your real name or registered business details, a billing address you can verify, and the correct country or region for your account. Do not change these details to try to pass a payment check.
- A Coinepay account with card access. Register and complete identity verification before using card services. Once your virtual card is issued, its card number, expiry date and CVV are available in the Coinepay dashboard or mobile app.
- Enough available funds. Check the amount Lightspeed displays at checkout, including any applicable taxes or other charges shown there. Leave enough room for the amount the checkout asks you to authorize.
Check the available payment methods in your Lightspeed checkout before committing to a subscription. Do not assume that an option shown in another country, or for another Lightspeed product, will appear for your eCommerce account.
How to pay during Lightspeed eCommerce sign-up
- Go to Lightspeed’s official site. Choose its eCommerce offering and begin the account setup for your actual business location. If you already have a Lightspeed account, sign in rather than creating an unnecessary second account.
- Review the subscription details. Select an available option that fits your store and read the billing summary. Confirm the charge amount, billing period, taxes if shown, and any renewal terms before proceeding. Use the pricing and checkout information shown for your region rather than a price quoted elsewhere.
- Enter your real account details. Complete any requested contact, store and business information truthfully. Keep a record of the email address used for the account so you can find billing notices later.
- Open your Coinepay virtual card details. In the Coinepay dashboard or mobile app, view the card number, expiry date and CVV. Check that the funds available to the card cover the amount shown by Lightspeed. If you have not yet registered, use the Coinepay registration page and complete the required identity verification first.
- Enter the card at Lightspeed checkout. If card payment is offered, type the card details into Lightspeed’s payment form. Enter the real cardholder and billing information requested. Review every field before submitting; an incorrect digit, expiry date or address can prevent authorization.
- Complete any verification prompt. Your payment may require an additional authentication step, such as 3-D Secure. Follow the instructions displayed by the checkout or card authentication flow. Do not repeatedly resubmit the payment while a prompt is still pending.
- Confirm the result. Look for a Lightspeed confirmation or an updated subscription status in your account, and retain any receipt. A card authorization or pending entry alone does not necessarily mean the subscription is active.
The wording and order of Lightspeed’s screens may differ by location and account type. Follow the current prompts in your own account, especially where the checkout displays terms that affect recurring billing.
How to add the card to an existing Lightspeed eCommerce account
If your store is already set up, sign in to the Lightspeed account that owns its subscription. Look for the account’s billing, subscription or payment-method area and follow the available option to add or update a card. Enter the Coinepay virtual card details and your real billing information, then save and check whether the account shows the new payment method. If you cannot locate that area, use Lightspeed’s help resources or contact its support rather than entering card details into a storefront checkout.
Your Lightspeed subscription payment is separate from customer payments on your store. Adding a card to pay Lightspeed does not configure how shoppers pay at your storefront. Customer checkout, payment-provider setup and payouts to your business are separate store-management tasks.
If you replace a card used for an ongoing subscription, review the next billing date shown in your Lightspeed account and make sure the payment method displayed there is the one you intend to use. Keep sufficient funds available for future charges and check Lightspeed’s billing notices for any action required.
What to check when a card is declined
A decline does not, by itself, identify the cause. Read the message Lightspeed displays, check your Coinepay card status and transaction activity, and change only information you know is incorrect. These are common places to start:
Insufficient available funds
Compare the amount requested at checkout with the funds available to the card. Taxes or other amounts displayed in the final billing summary may make the total different from an advertised base price. If you need to add funds, use the options available in your Coinepay account, then try again after checking the balance. Avoid multiple rapid attempts while an earlier authorization is still pending.
Billing address or card details do not match
Recheck the card number, expiry date, CVV, cardholder name and billing fields for typing mistakes. Use your real billing address and account information. If your address has changed, correct it through the relevant account processes; do not enter an invented address or a different country to try to make a payment go through.
3-D Secure or another authentication step did not finish
If a verification window appears, keep the checkout open and follow its instructions. A closed window, expired prompt or interrupted connection can leave the payment incomplete. Check for a confirmation before retrying. If authentication repeatedly fails or no prompt appears when one is expected, contact Coinepay support with the time and amount of the attempt, without sending your full card number or CVV.
Merchant region or eligibility checks
Lightspeed may apply availability and payment checks based on the account, business location and billing information. A card payment may be declined even when its details and balance are correct. Review the eligibility information for your actual location and ask Lightspeed support what its checkout requires. If Lightspeed states that it accepts only certain card types or cards issued in certain countries, contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets that requirement before you buy. Do not use a false address, another person’s identity or a location-masking workaround.
If the error persists, note the exact message, when the attempt occurred, the currency and amount shown, and whether an authorization appears in your Coinepay activity. Share those details with the appropriate support team, but never share your CVV or full card number in a support message.
Manage the subscription after payment
Keep your Lightspeed billing contact information current so you can receive receipts, renewal notices and requests to update a payment method. Check your account for the subscription’s current status and billing terms when changing store plans or deciding whether to continue. For cancellation or changes to the subscription, follow the terms and controls shown by Lightspeed for your account; removing a card from Coinepay does not itself cancel a Lightspeed subscription.
You can manage your Coinepay card from its 24/7 self-service dashboard or the Coinepay mobile app for iOS and Android. If you need help with the card or a declined authorization, contact Coinepay support. For questions about a Lightspeed invoice, subscription status or merchant checkout rule, contact Lightspeed directly.

FAQ
Can I use a Coinepay virtual card for Lightspeed eCommerce?
Enter it if card payment is offered at your Lightspeed checkout. Acceptance depends on Lightspeed’s payment and eligibility checks and cannot be guaranteed.
Where do I update the card for an existing Lightspeed eCommerce subscription?
Sign in to the account that owns the subscription and look for its billing, subscription or payment-method area. Ask Lightspeed support if you cannot find the option.
Why was my Lightspeed payment declined even though I have funds?
Check the billing details, any unfinished 3-D Secure prompt, and Lightspeed’s region or card eligibility requirements. If the cause remains unclear, contact support with the error message and attempt details.
Does adding my card to Lightspeed set up payments for my store’s customers?
No. Paying your Lightspeed subscription is separate from configuring customer checkout and payment providers for your storefront.
