You can enter a Coinepay virtual card at Todoist’s website checkout when subscribing to Pro or upgrading a team to Business. This guide covers what to prepare, where to find Todoist’s checkout, and what to check if a payment does not go through. Card acceptance depends on Todoist’s checkout and payment checks; it is not guaranteed.

Choose the right Todoist plan and billing route

Todoist’s public plans are Beginner, which is free; Pro, an individual subscription; and Business, a per-member team subscription. Pro Legacy is for eligible existing subscribers, not a plan offered to general new sign-ups. If Beginner meets your needs, you do not need to enter a card.

At the time of writing (October 2026), Todoist listed Pro in USD at $7 per month or $60 per year, and Business at $10 per member per month or $96 per member per year. These are reference prices, not a promise of your checkout total. Todoist is introducing localized prices in selected countries, and applicable taxes are calculated at checkout. Check Todoist’s official pricing page and the amount shown before you subscribe.

This guide uses Todoist’s web checkout because it lets you enter card details there. Pro is also sold through the App Store and Google Play, but subscriptions purchased through those stores are managed separately. Check whether you already have a Pro subscription before starting another one, or you could be charged in more than one place.

What you need before checkout

  • A Todoist account: Sign up or sign in on Todoist’s official website using your real account information. For Business, you will also need a Todoist team.
  • An active Coinepay account: Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using its card services. Coinepay provides a virtual card number, expiry date, and CVV, accessible through its self-service dashboard or mobile app.
  • Enough available funds: Check your Coinepay balance against the amount Todoist displays, including any applicable tax. If a currency conversion is involved, leave room for the final amount rather than relying solely on a headline plan price.
  • Accurate billing information: Have your real billing name and address ready. Use details that match the information associated with your payment method, and review them before submitting.
  • Access to payment verification: Keep your Coinepay app or dashboard available in case the payment requires an authentication step.

Todoist lists Visa, Mastercard, and American Express as website card-payment options across its supported currencies, with other card options subject to currency or country restrictions. That list does not establish whether a particular Coinepay card will be accepted. Check the options actually presented at checkout; if you need to confirm a card requirement before buying, contact Coinepay support.

How to subscribe to Todoist Pro on the website

  1. Sign in to Todoist. If you are new, create your account on Todoist’s official website first. Make sure you are using the account on which you want Pro.
  2. Open the upgrade screen. Select your avatar, then Settings → Subscription → Upgrade to Pro.
  3. Review the billing choices. Choose monthly or yearly billing and an available currency. Read the displayed price and billing interval. Todoist’s currency choices can depend on your location; for example, its payment guidance lists USD or EUR as the choices for Brazil, Mexico, and Turkey. Use your actual location and billing details rather than trying to bypass a regional checkout rule.
  4. Continue to payment. Select Continue to checkout. Check the final amount, including any tax shown, before entering your details.
  5. Enter your Coinepay card details. Retrieve the card number, expiry date, and CVV from your Coinepay dashboard or app. Enter them in Todoist’s card fields, along with your real billing information. Review the information carefully for typing errors.
  6. Complete checkout. Follow any payment-authentication prompt, then select Subscribe. Wait for Todoist to confirm the subscription before trying again or opening a second checkout.

If you prefer a team subscription, the route is different: create a Todoist team, then use the web app and go to avatar → Settings → team name → Subscription → Start for free. Follow the team upgrade and payment prompts shown there. Todoist directs mobile users to its web app for team upgrades. Business is billed per member, so review the team size, billing interval, and displayed total before confirming.

What to check if Todoist declines your card

A failed payment does not, by itself, identify the cause. Start with the checkout message and any transaction status visible in Coinepay, then check the most relevant possibility below. Avoid repeated submissions while a charge or authentication attempt is still pending.

Insufficient available balance

Compare the available balance with Todoist’s final checkout total, not just the advertised subscription price. Taxes may apply, and a payment involving another currency may produce a different final card amount. Add funds through an available method shown in your Coinepay account if needed, then make a new attempt once the balance is sufficient. For a Business team, check the total for all members rather than the per-member figure alone.

Card details or billing address mismatch

Re-enter the card number, expiry date, and CVV directly from your Coinepay account. Check your billing name, address, and postal code for mistakes. Use your genuine details; a made-up address or someone else’s identity is not a fix for a payment check. If your details need updating, use the relevant account settings or ask support how to correct them before retrying.

3-D Secure or another authentication prompt

If checkout asks you to verify the card payment, complete the prompt rather than closing it or starting a second purchase. An expired or interrupted authentication session may require a fresh checkout attempt. If you cannot access or finish the requested verification, check your Coinepay app or dashboard and contact Coinepay support with the time and amount of the attempted payment. Do not share your CVV or verification codes in a support message.

Merchant currency or region checks

Todoist limits some website currency choices by country and lists certain payment methods only for specific currencies or locations. Confirm that your selected currency and card-payment option are available at your actual checkout. If a card still fails, ask Todoist about the checkout restriction and Coinepay support about your attempted card transaction. Neither changing a billing country to one that is not yours nor retrying through a different region is an appropriate workaround.

If you see “Couldn’t load billing information” while opening Todoist’s billing page, treat it as a page-loading issue, not evidence of a card decline. Todoist suggests logging out and back in to resolve a possible caching problem. If a payment appears to have been taken but Pro or Business is not active, check your subscription status and payment record before attempting another purchase.

Manage your subscription after payment

For Pro purchased directly from Todoist, open avatar → Settings → Subscription → Go to billing to manage your payment method, billing information, billing cycle, and invoices. Team administrators manage Business billing in the team’s Subscription settings. If your Pro purchase was made through the App Store or Google Play instead, manage its payment method and subscription in that store account.

To cancel website-billed Pro, go to avatar → Settings → Subscription → Cancel plan. A team administrator can cancel Business from team → Subscription → Cancel plan. Store subscriptions must be checked and canceled through the relevant store. Monthly Pro and Business payments are generally non-refundable on cancellation unless applicable consumer-protection law requires otherwise. Todoist says yearly Pro purchases or renewals qualify for a full refund within 30 days; the request route depends on where you subscribed. Review Todoist’s current refund instructions before canceling if a refund matters to you.

If a Pro renewal payment fails, Todoist says it retries the payment and keeps the subscription active during those retries; an unresolved payment can eventually lead to cancellation. Check your payment method in Go to billing and resolve any balance or verification issue promptly. For a Coinepay card question, use Coinepay support; for an issue with Todoist’s subscription status or invoice, contact Todoist.

FAQ

Can I use a Coinepay virtual card for Todoist Pro?

You can enter its card details at Todoist’s website checkout, but acceptance depends on the available payment options and the checks applied to your transaction.

Where do I change the card for a Todoist Pro subscription?

For Pro billed directly by Todoist, go to avatar → Settings → Subscription → Go to billing. If you subscribed through an app store, manage payment in that store.

Why is my card declined by Todoist?

Check the final amount against your available balance, verify card and real billing details, complete any authentication prompt, and review checkout currency or region restrictions. Contact support if the reason remains unclear.

Can I pay for Todoist Business with the same web checkout route as Pro?

Business uses a team upgrade route. Create a team in Todoist’s web app, then go to avatar → Settings → team name → Subscription → Start for free and follow the payment prompts.
