Box is a cloud content-management and collaboration platform. If you want to pay for a Box subscription with a Coinepay virtual card, this guide walks through what you need, how checkout works, and how to troubleshoot a declined card. Coinepay issues virtual cards with an instant number, expiry date and CVV that you can use for software and online subscriptions, all managed from the 24/7 dashboard and the Coinepay mobile app.

Before you start: what you need

Set yourself up before you reach the Box checkout so the payment goes through on the first try:

  • A verified Coinepay account. Register and complete identity verification (KYC) before using card services. You can create an account and download the app from the App Store or Google Play.
  • A funded Coinepay virtual card. Create a card in the dashboard and make sure it has enough balance for the first charge. Box says it charges the card after you complete the purchase, so the full amount must be available.
  • Your real billing address. Box validates checkout addresses with Google Maps and does not accept PO boxes there. Use the exact billing address linked to your Coinepay card. Keep the address under 30 characters where possible, as Box flags longer address lines.
  • An unused email address. Box's new paid-account checkout asks for an email that is not already tied to a Box account.

Choose your Box plan

Box lists these plans: Individual, Personal Pro, Business Starter (shortened to "Starter" on the UK page), Business, Business Plus, Enterprise, Enterprise Plus and Enterprise Advanced. Individual is free; the others are paid.

At the time of writing (October 2026), Box's US-dollar pricing page showed Personal Pro at $14/month or $10/month on annual billing, and Business Starter at $7 or $5 per user/month. Business showed $20/$15, Business Plus $33/$25 and Enterprise $47/$35 per user/month, with the second figure for annual billing. Enterprise Plus showed $50 per user/month on annual billing, and Enterprise Advanced had no publicly displayed price. Prices vary by region and currency, so always confirm the current figure on Box's official pricing page before you buy — Box's terms say the payable currency and fee are those quoted at purchase.

Note the seat rules: Business Starter is for up to 10 users, while the paid business tiers have a three-user minimum.

Step-by-step: sign up and pay

  1. Go to the Box pricing page and select your plan. Choose monthly or annual billing — the page updates the displayed price when you switch.
  2. Enter your account details, including an unused email address and, for business plans, your seat count. Box shows the updated price as you change seats and a running total.
  3. Open the Coinepay app or dashboard and view the virtual card you funded. Copy the card number, expiry and CVV carefully — Box warns that copied-and-pasted card details can cause errors, so type them in if you hit trouble.
  4. Enter your card and billing address. Let Box's address lookup suggest your address; if your international address is not suggested, use the manual entry option. Make sure the name matches the name on the card.
  5. Review the total and click Complete Purchase. Box charges the card after you complete the purchase. If your bank or Coinepay prompts a 3-D Secure confirmation, approve it in the Coinepay app.

Which cards and methods Box accepts

Box lists credit card, wire transfer, ACH and check as payment methods; direct debit is listed only for customers in Germany, and checks require approval and may be unavailable by location. Wire and check are restricted to contracted Business-level accounts with payments of at least $1,000 or equivalent. Box lists a $50,000-or-equivalent card-charge limit and says it does not accept PayPal.

For card brands, Box lists Visa, Mastercard and American Express, with JCB eligible for customers in Japan. If a merchant restricts the card types or issuing regions it accepts, that restriction applies regardless of how you pay. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets a requirement before you buy.

Troubleshooting a declined card

Box publishes a list of common card-entry failure reasons. Work through these before retrying:

  • Insufficient balance. The full charge must be available on your Coinepay card at checkout, because Box charges after you complete the purchase. Top up the card in the Coinepay app and try again. Box also flags a "spending limit" as a failure reason.
  • Billing address mismatch. This is one of Box's listed causes. Enter the exact billing address tied to your Coinepay card, avoid PO boxes, and keep the address line under 30 characters — Box specifically flags addresses longer than 30 characters.
  • Invalid security code or name. Box lists an invalid security code and an incorrectly entered name as failure reasons. Re-type the CVV and make the cardholder name match exactly.
  • Expired card. Check the expiry date shown on your Coinepay card and generate a fresh card if needed.
  • Copied-and-pasted details. Box notes that pasting card details can trigger errors. Type the number, expiry and CVV manually.
  • 3-D Secure. If a verification prompt appears, approve it in the Coinepay app. A missed or timed-out approval can cause a decline.
  • Bank vendor approval. Box notes that a bank may require approval of Box as a vendor. If charges are blocked, check your Coinepay card controls and contact support.

If you see an outstanding-balance message when you log in, it can mean a previous payment was declined. Box says adding a valid replacement card charges the full outstanding balance, so make sure your Coinepay card is funded for that amount before you add it.

Managing billing after purchase

Only account administrators can view the subscription, charges and payment-method details, at app.box.com/billing. An administrator can add a card under Payment methods; managed users must contact Box Billing Support. Keep your Coinepay card funded ahead of each renewal so an automatic charge does not fail.

Trials, cancellation and refunds

Where a trial is offered, it lasts for the stated period, or 14 days if no period is stated; cancel by its final day to avoid a disclosed conversion charge. To cancel Personal Pro, go to your avatar → Account Settings → Account Details → Cancel Account. A Business or Enterprise administrator cancels under Admin Console → Account & Billing → Cancel Account. Box says cancellation takes effect at the end of the service term and advises emailing [email protected] if you do not receive confirmation.

Box's terms (effective August 17, 2026) describe cancelling at least three business days before renewal, while an older refund article mentions 30 days; because this guidance conflicts, check the deadline in your own contract. Prepaid services, including renewals, are generally non-refundable, and annual-plan seats cannot be reduced or downgraded before the anniversary. Direct refund questions to Box Billing Support.

FAQ

Which card brands does Box accept?

Box lists Visa, Mastercard and American Express, with JCB eligible for customers in Japan. It also accepts wire transfer, ACH and check for contracted Business-level accounts, plus direct debit for Germany. If you are unsure your Coinepay card meets a requirement, contact Coinepay support before you buy.

Why was my Coinepay card declined at Box checkout?

Box lists common causes including an expired card, a spending limit, a billing address mismatch, an address longer than 30 characters, an invalid security code, an incorrectly entered name, and copied-and-pasted card details. Make sure the card is funded, type the details manually, enter your exact billing address, and approve any 3-D Secure prompt in the Coinepay app.

How much does Box cost?

At the time of writing (October 2026) Box's US pricing page showed Personal Pro at $14/month ($10 annual) and Business Starter at $7 ($5 annual) per user/month, with higher tiers above that. Prices vary by region and currency, so confirm the current figure on Box's official pricing page before paying.

Do I need enough balance on my virtual card before buying?

Yes. Box charges your card after you complete the purchase, so the full amount must be available on your Coinepay card. Top up in the Coinepay app first, and keep the card funded ahead of each renewal.

How do I cancel a Box subscription paid with my card?

Cancel Personal Pro under your avatar → Account Settings → Account Details → Cancel Account, or, for Business/Enterprise, via Admin Console → Account & Billing → Cancel Account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the service term; prepaid services including renewals are generally non-refundable, so check your contract's renewal deadline.
