VTEX Commerce Platform pricing starts with a sales conversation, not a standard self-service subscription checkout. If you want to pay a VTEX invoice with a Coinepay virtual card, first confirm that VTEX accepts card payment for your specific account and invoice. This guide walks through the inquiry, billing and payment steps without confusing the methods your store offers shoppers with the methods VTEX accepts from you.

What you need before paying VTEX

  • A VTEX proposal or agreement. Commerce Platform pricing and implementation are discussed with VTEX sales. Your Order Form establishes the applicable fees and contract term; do not assume that a publicly listed price for another VTEX product applies to Commerce.
  • Your real business and billing information. Have your company details, country, financial contact and the billing information requested by VTEX ready. Use accurate details that match your agreement and payment records.
  • Confirmation of the invoice payment method. Ask your VTEX billing contact whether your invoice can be settled by card, how to access the authorized payment process and whether any card or regional requirements apply. An invoice being visible in Admin does not, by itself, mean it has a card-payment button.
  • An active Coinepay account. Register and complete identity verification before using card services. Coinepay issues virtual cards with a card number, expiry date and CVV; check the Coinepay app or dashboard for your card details and available funds.

Card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions. Some services are not available in every jurisdiction. If VTEX specifies a card-type or issuing-country requirement for your invoice, contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets it before attempting payment.

Step 1: Start the VTEX Commerce inquiry

  1. Go to VTEX’s official Commerce Platform get-started page and open its sales inquiry form. This is a request to discuss a project, not a documented instant paid checkout.
  2. Enter your real company, country and contact details, along with the annual gross merchandise value (GMV) information the form requests. Describe the store or commerce project you intend to run.
  3. Discuss pricing, implementation and your intended billing arrangement with VTEX sales. Review the proposed Order Form and applicable agreement before committing, including the contracting entity, fees, billing schedule, currency and term.
  4. Ask the VTEX contact how invoices will be delivered and which payment methods are available for your account. If you plan to use a Coinepay virtual card, ask specifically whether card settlement is available for the invoice you expect to receive.

If you want to evaluate the platform first, VTEX advertises a no-cost enterprise sandbox. Its stated conditions include a three-month limit, no service-level agreement guarantee, and no personal data or live projects. Treat the sandbox as an evaluation route, not a substitute for agreeing to Commerce billing terms.

Step 2: Prepare your Coinepay virtual card

  1. Register with Coinepay if you have not already done so, and complete the required identity verification. You can manage your account through the 24/7 self-service dashboard or the Coinepay mobile app for iOS and Android.
  2. In your Coinepay account, locate your virtual card number, expiry date and CVV. Check the available balance against the amount VTEX actually requests. If you need information about funding, applicable charges or card controls, check the app or ask Coinepay support rather than relying on an assumed amount.
  3. Keep the agreed company and billing details at hand. Enter your real billing information if VTEX’s authorized payment flow asks for it; do not replace it with an address from another country to try to pass a payment check.

A Coinepay virtual card can be used for software payments, but that does not establish that a particular VTEX invoice can be paid by card. Obtain VTEX’s instructions before entering card details, and use only a payment flow you have verified with VTEX.

Step 3: Find and settle your VTEX invoice

VTEX’s published terms describe invoices as available in the platform’s administrative environment and refer to a Contacts tab in the billing module for financial contacts. Ask your VTEX contact to point you to the invoice and confirm that the correct person receives billing notices; the menu route can depend on the account. For partners, VTEX’s partner agreement specifically identifies the Financial (Billing) module and an email invoice notification. A partner invoice should not be mistaken for a Commerce merchant invoice.

  1. Open the invoice through the location VTEX provides. Match its company name, invoice number, amount, currency and due date to your Order Form and billing correspondence.
  2. If VTEX confirms that this invoice supports card payment, follow its authorized payment instructions. Enter the Coinepay card number, expiry date and CVV, together with the requested real billing details. Review the amount before submitting.
  3. Complete any verification challenge presented by the payment flow. Then check whether VTEX records the invoice as paid; keep the invoice and payment confirmation for reconciliation.
  4. If VTEX instead instructs you to use another settlement method, follow the method specified for your agreement. Do not enter card details into a shopper checkout or assume that a store’s enabled payment methods can pay VTEX’s own fees.

That distinction matters: a merchant configures methods for its customers under VTEX Admin → Store Settings → Payment → Settings, subject to its payment providers and conditions. Those settings do not identify the payment methods VTEX accepts to settle your Commerce invoice. Likewise, published VTEX CX Platform conversation-volume prices and VTEX partner-program tiers are for different offerings, not Commerce subscription prices. Check VTEX’s official pricing information and your proposal for the product you are buying.

If a card payment is declined or does not complete

Start by identifying where the failure occurred: VTEX invoice settlement, or a shopper’s purchase in a VTEX-powered store. The two flows can have different payment providers and support teams. Save the exact message, time, invoice or order reference, and any payment reference without sharing your full card number or CVV in a support message.

  • Insufficient balance: Compare the amount being charged with the funds available in Coinepay. If a provider response says “Unauthorized. Insufficient funds.”, check the balance, but do not assume the message alone proves the root cause. Ask the relevant billing or payment support team to confirm the attempted amount.
  • Billing-address mismatch: Check for typing errors in the name, address and other billing fields, and use your genuine details. If your VTEX contract uses business billing information while the payment form requests cardholder information, ask VTEX which information belongs in each field.
  • 3-D Secure or another verification step: If a challenge appears, complete it as directed. If it times out or cannot be completed, check your Coinepay account for any relevant prompt and contact support. Do not repeatedly submit the charge without first checking whether a prior attempt is pending or succeeded.
  • Merchant or regional checks: Confirm that VTEX offers card settlement for your contracting entity and invoice, and ask whether the particular flow has card-type or issuing-country conditions. Do not change your country or billing address to bypass a restriction. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets a stated requirement before trying again.
  • Unclear authorization result: A response such as “Unauthorized. Please try again.” does not identify a single cause. Ask VTEX or the relevant payment provider to investigate using the reference. VTEX has also reported a shopper-order issue involving a missing Payment Gateway authorization response; an order cancelled for that reason should not automatically be labeled a card-issuer decline.

Some reported VTEX checkout wording, including “Please review your payment details,” comes from shopper purchases. Do not treat it as a confirmed error message for paying a VTEX subscription invoice. For a disputed invoice attempt, contact VTEX billing about the invoice and Coinepay support about the card-side transaction status.

Before you renew or change your VTEX arrangement

Read your signed Order Form and the agreement applicable to your product and region. Under the published US Commerce master agreement, the contract renews automatically unless a party gives written non-renewal notice 90 days before the term ends; the Order Form sets the term. Do not assume a card payment, stopping use of the platform or deleting card details cancels a contract. Ask VTEX for the correct notice process and review your own terms for any refund provision. VTEX Rise and VTEX partner programs have separate terms, which should not be applied to a Commerce agreement.

FAQ

Can I pay every VTEX Commerce invoice with a Coinepay virtual card?

Do not assume so. Ask your VTEX billing contact whether card payment is available for your specific invoice and whether any card or regional requirements apply.

Where do I find my VTEX invoice?

VTEX describes invoices as available in its administrative environment. Ask your VTEX contact for the route in your account; partner invoices are specifically described as appearing in the Financial (Billing) module.

Do the card methods in VTEX Admin determine how I pay VTEX?

No. Store Settings → Payment → Settings concerns methods your store can offer shoppers, not necessarily methods for settling VTEX invoices.

What should I do if my VTEX card payment is declined?

Check the available balance and genuine billing details, complete any verification challenge, and confirm that card payment is permitted for your invoice. Give VTEX and Coinepay support the payment reference, not your full card details.

Does removing my card cancel VTEX Commerce?

No. Review your signed Order Form and applicable agreement. The published US Commerce agreement calls for written non-renewal notice 90 days before the term ends.
