Loom is a screen- and video-recording tool for teams who want to share updates asynchronously instead of meeting live. If you want to move off the free tier onto a paid plan, you will need a working payment card. This guide explains how to pay for Loom with a Coinepay virtual card, which billing system to expect, and what to do if your card is declined.
What you need before you start
- A Coinepay account with identity verification (KYC) completed. If you have not signed up yet, you can register with Coinepay and verify your identity first.
- A Coinepay virtual card issued in your dashboard, with its card number, expiry date and CVV visible.
- Enough available balance on the card to cover the first charge plus any small verification hold.
- Your real billing details (name, address and country) that match your Coinepay account, since Loom's payment processor checks these.
- A Loom workspace where you are an admin — only an admin can change the plan and billing.
You can create and manage your virtual card from the Coinepay app on iOS or Google Play, or from the web dashboard.
Loom plans at a glance
Loom's self-service plans are Starter (free), Business, Business + AI, and Enterprise (quoted by sales). At the time of writing (October 2026), the United States pricing page showed Business at US$18 per user/month and Business + AI at US$24 per user/month, and the France and Germany pages displayed the same US-dollar prices rather than euro prices. Prices vary by region and change over time, so always confirm the current figure on Loom's official pricing page before you pay. Monthly and annual billing are offered, with the pricing page advertising up to 17% savings on annual, and Business + AI includes a 14-day trial.
Which billing system holds your workspace?
Loom now runs on two systems, and the steps differ:
- Atlassian-integrated workspaces — accounts created after February 2026, and legacy accounts that were later integrated, manage billing, invoices and payment methods at admin.atlassian.com/billing.
- Legacy Loom-billed workspaces — billing is handled inside Loom under Workspace Settings → Plan & Billing.
Check which one applies before following the checkout steps, because the accepted payment methods and refund rules are not identical.
Step-by-step: pay for Loom with your Coinepay card
Create or open your virtual card
- Sign in to Coinepay and open the card section.
- Create a virtual card or select an existing one, then top it up so the balance covers the plan total for your user count.
- Note the card number, expiry and CVV — you will enter these at Loom's checkout.
Choose your Loom plan
- On Loom's pricing page, select Sign up for Starter, Try for free for Business or Business + AI, or Contact Sales for Enterprise.
- Sign in to your workspace as an admin.
Enter payment details (legacy Loom billing)
- Go to Workspace Settings → Plan & Billing.
- Choose monthly or annual billing and select the number of paid members.
- Enter your Coinepay card number, expiry, CVV and billing address, then confirm. The card is charged at the start of each billing period. Legacy checkout lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and debit cards; PayPal and bank transfer are not available for self-service upgrades.
Enter payment details (Atlassian billing)
- Go to admin.atlassian.com/billing.
- Open Billing account → Payment method → Add payment details.
- Enter your Coinepay card and billing address and save. For monthly Atlassian-billed subscriptions the FAQ lists Mastercard, Visa, American Express or PayPal; annual subscriptions accept credit card, bank transfer or check.
If you added a card during a trial, you are not charged until the trial ends. Without a paid subscription, a legacy account reverts to Starter.
Loom charges in USD on legacy billing, with any currency conversion handled by your card issuer. Check the Coinepay app for your available balance before you confirm, so the charge and any conversion are covered.
Troubleshooting: why a card gets declined
Loom's billing-problems help page identifies failed upgrades but does not publish verbatim decline messages, so treat the causes below as the usual suspects to check in order.
Insufficient balance
The most common cause. Confirm the card holds enough for the full charge — plan price multiplied by your user count, plus any temporary authorization hold. Top up in the Coinepay app and retry.
Billing address mismatch
The payment processor compares the billing address you type against the address on file for the card. Enter exactly the details associated with your Coinepay card in your dashboard. A mismatched postal code or country is a frequent reason for a decline.
3-D Secure / issuer authentication
Some charges trigger an extra verification step. Atlassian notes that India-issued cards in particular may need issuer authentication or international transactions enabled. Watch for a confirmation prompt from Coinepay in the app and approve it promptly; an unapproved authentication will fail the payment.
Foreign-currency or international settings
Because Loom bills in USD, a card or account setting that blocks foreign-currency or international transactions can cause a failure. Atlassian also lists expired cards and foreign-currency blocks among payment failures. Make sure your Coinepay card is active and not expired, and check its settings for any such restriction in the app.
Merchant region checks
Loom says it cannot support access from Iran, Cuba, North Korea, Syria, Crimea, the Donetsk People's Republic or the Luhansk People's Republic, and some customers in Belarus and Russia may be unable to transact because of payment-processor sanctions. If you are in one of these places, the issue is the merchant's own restriction, not your card.
If the payment still fails after these checks, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card is active and suitable for this purchase, and reach Loom/Atlassian support for the billing side. You can also message the team via Telegram.
Managing, cancelling and refunds
On legacy billing, cancel via Workspace Settings → Plan & Billing → Manage Subscription → Downgrade to Starter; paid features remain until the period ends, and Loom does not prorate refunds for unused time or deactivated seats. On Atlassian billing, a billing or organization admin opens the Loom subscription in Atlassian Administration, selects Deactivate, then chooses downgrade or cancellation. Under Atlassian's published policy, a refund may be requested for an initial monthly purchase within its first paid month or an initial annual purchase within 30 days; renewals and upgrades are not refundable, and Enterprise is excluded. Always review the current policy on the official pages.
A note on business use
If your company runs several Loom workspaces or other subscriptions, Coinepay lets you issue separate virtual cards and set custom spending limits per card, which makes it easier to track software spend. Learn more about Coinepay cards on the Coinepay home page.

Enter your Coinepay card details like any other card. If you are unsure whether your card meets a requirement, contact Coinepay support to confirm before you buy.
What currency does Loom charge in?
On legacy billing Loom charges in USD, and any currency conversion is handled by your card issuer. The US, France and Germany pricing pages all showed US-dollar prices at the time of writing. Check your Coinepay balance covers the charge plus conversion before confirming.
Why was my Coinepay card declined at Loom checkout?
Common causes are insufficient balance, a billing-address mismatch, an unapproved 3-D Secure or issuer authentication prompt, a setting blocking foreign-currency or international payments, or an expired card. Check each in the Coinepay app and retry, then contact support if it still fails.
How much does Loom cost?
At the time of writing (October 2026) the US pricing page showed Business at US$18 per user/month and Business + AI at US$24 per user/month, with Starter free and Enterprise quoted by sales. Prices vary by region and change, so confirm the current figure on Loom's official pricing page.
