Genesis Crystals are the premium currency in Genshin Impact, bought as one-off bundles and converted to Primogems at a 1:1 ratio. There is no Genesis Crystal subscription to sign up for: you top up the amount you want, when you want. This guide shows how to pay for a top-up with a Coinepay virtual card, from setting up the card to completing checkout, and how to work through a declined payment.
What you need before you start
- A HoYoverse (or linked platform) account that already has Genshin Impact and the shop unlocked. The in-game shop opens after you complete the "Knights of Favonius" quest and reach Adventure Rank 5.
- A Coinepay virtual card. Register at Coinepay, complete identity verification (KYC), and open the iOS or Android app to view your card number, expiry date and CVV.
- Your real billing details. Use the name, address and country on your Coinepay account exactly as they appear, because the merchant's checks compare them against what you enter.
- Your correct server and game account, so Crystals land where you expect.
Services related to virtual assets are not available to residents of mainland China, and some services are not available in every jurisdiction. Always use your real identity and real location; do not try to work around a store's regional checks.
The Genesis Crystal bundles
HoYoverse sells six tiers, named in English as 60, 300, 980, 1980, 3280 and 6480 Genesis Crystals. Localized storefronts use translated names for the same tiers, for example Schöpfungskristalle in Germany and 創世結晶 in Japan. The official top-up page also shows a double first-purchase bonus on each tier; whether it applies to your order should be confirmed in-game at Paimon Menu → Shop → Crystal Top-up rather than assumed.
Prices vary by region and platform. As observed on the official US web top-up on October 19, 2026, the six tiers in ascending order were US$0.99, US$4.99, US$14.99, US$29.99, US$49.99 and US$99.99. Other regions differ — for example the German iOS App Store showed €1.09 through €109.99 on the same date. Treat these as snapshots only and check the current price shown at your own checkout.
Option 1: Pay on the official web top-up center
- Go to HoYoverse's official Genshin Impact top-up center and sign in with your game account.
- Select the correct server and game account before you pick a bundle — this is the most common cause of Crystals going to the wrong place.
- Choose the Genesis Crystal tier you want.
- At the payment step, the storefront lists methods such as Apple Pay, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, Discover, Diners Club, UnionPay, Google Pay and PayPal. Select the card option and enter your Coinepay card number, expiry date and CVV from the app.
- Enter your billing name, address and country to match your Coinepay account.
- If your bank or card prompts 3-D Secure, approve it (see below).
- Confirm and wait for the success screen. Crystals are usually credited to the selected account shortly after.
Whether a specific card is offered or accepted at an individual checkout depends on the merchant and the issuer. If you are unsure your Coinepay card meets a store's requirements, contact Coinepay support to confirm before you buy.
Option 2: Pay in-game or through an app store
In the game, open Paimon Menu → Shop → Crystal Top-up, choose a tier and complete payment through the store tied to your platform. On iOS, the charge goes through your Apple Account; manage the card there at Settings → your name → Payment & Shipping. On Android, it goes through Google Play; manage the card at Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Payment methods. Add your Coinepay card there first, then make the purchase. Available methods depend on your region.
Since the Version 5.8 update in 2025, Genesis Crystals are shared across PlayStation and HoYoverse's other supported platforms, so PSN-registered players can top up on PC or mobile after setting up cross-save.
Check your purchase history
Your in-game currency activity for the preceding six months is at Paimon Menu → Feedback → Self-Service → Currency Record. Purchases made through a platform store also appear in that store's receipts or order history, and card activity shows in your Coinepay app.
Troubleshooting a declined card
HoYoverse documents the message "Transaction Rejected, Please Select Another Payment Method", and lists common failure causes: insufficient funds, a bank or provider security block, incorrect or expired card details, network interruption, and exceeded purchase limits. A single decline does not tell you which one applies, so work through these in order.
Insufficient balance
Open the Coinepay app and confirm the card has enough available balance to cover the price plus any currency conversion. Top up or adjust the card's spending limit, then retry.
Billing address mismatch
Re-enter your name, address and country exactly as they appear on your Coinepay account. Even a small mismatch in postal code or country can trigger a decline.
3-D Secure
Many card payments require an extra verification step. Make sure notifications from the Coinepay app are enabled so you can approve the prompt, and complete it before it times out. If you miss it, restart the checkout.
Merchant region checks
HoYoverse advises that your payment method's country or region should match your location, and that the game should have come from the matching regional store. For PC, it suggests disabling any VPN or proxy and checking your connection. Keep your account region, your card and your actual location consistent — do not use tools to disguise your location. HoYoverse also notes store-specific limits, such as PlayStation accounts from Saudi Arabia or Belgium being unable to purchase and seeing "No content available"; that is a PlayStation-store limit, not a block on every channel.
Card type or issuer requirements
If a checkout rejects a card for reasons unrelated to the above, the merchant or a platform store may restrict certain card types. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the requirement before you try again. If money was deducted despite a failure message, HoYoverse directs you to contact your bank — here, that means reaching out to Coinepay support with the transaction details.
Refunds and negative balances
HoYoverse treats delivered or credited digital purchases as final and generally not eligible for refund, but points users who believe special circumstances apply to Customer Support. For an unauthorized top-up, it asks you to email [email protected] with transaction proof, identifying account information and a description of the issue. Note that a refunded transaction can deduct the equivalent in-game currency and leave a negative Primogem balance, which you must restore within the timeframe stated in the in-game notice.
Keeping your card secure
Manage everything from the Coinepay 24/7 self-service dashboard or mobile app: set a spending limit that fits the bundle you plan to buy, watch transactions in real time, and freeze the card when you are not using it. Card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions. For anything specific to your account, reach the team via support or Telegram.

FAQ
Is there a Genesis Crystal subscription I pay for each month?
No. Genesis Crystals are bought as individual bundles — 60, 300, 980, 1980, 3280 or 6480 — not as a recurring plan. You top up only when you choose to, so there is no Crystal subscription to cancel.
Which Genesis Crystal bundles can I buy and how much do they cost?
There are six tiers: 60, 300, 980, 1980, 3280 and 6480 Genesis Crystals. Prices vary by region and platform. On the US web top-up on October 19, 2026 they ranged from US$0.99 to US$99.99, but you should check the current price shown at your own checkout.
Why was my Coinepay card declined at checkout?
HoYoverse lists insufficient funds, a bank or security block, incorrect or expired details, network issues and exceeded limits as common causes, often shown as "Transaction Rejected, Please Select Another Payment Method." Check your balance, confirm your billing address, complete any 3-D Secure prompt, and keep your card, account region and location consistent.
Can I get a refund if I buy the wrong bundle?
HoYoverse treats delivered digital purchases as final and generally non-refundable, but directs special cases to Customer Support. For unauthorized top-ups, email [email protected] with transaction proof and account details. A refund may leave a negative Primogem balance you must restore.
Do I need to do anything in Coinepay before paying?
Yes. Register, complete identity verification, and open the Coinepay app to get your card number, expiry and CVV. Make sure the card has enough balance or a high enough spending limit, and enable notifications so you can approve any 3-D Secure prompt.
