You can send money to Latvia quickly and securely with Coinepay. Whether your money transfer to Latvia is for family, a friend or a business partner, check the available payout options and full transfer details in the app before you confirm.

  • Flexible delivery: Transfers can arrive in as little as 10 minutes; actual delivery time depends on the payout method and destination country.
  • Costs shown upfront: The exchange rate and all Coinepay fees are shown before you confirm.
  • Ways to receive: Coinepay supports bank deposit, mobile wallet and cash pickup payouts. Check the app for the options available for your transfer to Latvia.

How to send money to Latvia

  1. Enter the amount you want to send and choose the currency the recipient will receive. Latvia uses the euro (EUR); check the currencies available for your transfer in the app.
  2. Add the recipient using their full legal name, then choose an available payout method. Enter the account, provider or pickup details requested for that method.
  3. Review the exchange rate, fees, recipient details and estimated arrival time. Confirm and pay if everything is correct, then follow the transfer’s status in the app.

Check the recipient’s details with them before paying. A wrong IBAN, a name that does not match the receiving account or missing bank information can delay a deposit or cause it to be returned. If you are paying a business, use its verified payment instructions rather than details copied from an unexpected message.

How long does a transfer to Latvia take?

Transfers to Latvia can arrive in as little as 10 minutes; the actual time depends on the payout method and destination country, including the receiving bank or provider, and the estimated arrival time is shown in the app before you confirm.

Payout methodWhat the recipient needsWhat affects delivery time
Bank depositAn eligible receiving account and the correct account details, usually including an IBAN for a Latvian bank account.Receiving-bank processing, cut-off times, non-working days and any checks or intermediary processing.
Mobile wallet, if offered for the selected transferAn account with the provider shown in the app and the recipient details that provider requires. No standalone Latvian mobile-money wallet is confirmed in the research for this route.Provider availability, account checks and the accuracy of the recipient details.
Cash pickup, if offered for the selected transferA valid ID and the collection details supplied for the transfer.Pickup-location availability, identity checks and local operating hours.

Receiving-bank cut-off times, weekends and Latvian holidays, identity or compliance checks, and incorrect recipient details can all affect speed. If the app requests supporting information, respond through the indicated channel and keep the transfer reference handy when contacting support. Use the app’s estimate for your particular transfer rather than assuming that any one payout method will arrive at a set time.

How much does it cost to send money to Latvia?

Coinepay shows the exchange rate and every Coinepay fee in the app before you confirm a transfer. Review the amount you pay alongside the amount the recipient is expected to receive. The total can vary with the amount, the currencies selected and the available payout method. If you are converting into euros, check the displayed rate at the point of confirmation rather than relying on an earlier quote.

For a bank deposit, ask the recipient to check whether their own bank charges for incoming payments, particularly when its international-payment instructions involve another bank. Those receiving-bank charges are separate from the Coinepay fees shown before confirmation. If the amount received differs from what was expected, compare the transfer record with the receiving bank’s statement before requesting an investigation.

Ways to receive money in Latvia

Bank deposit to a Latvian account

Ask the recipient for their full legal name and IBAN. A Latvian IBAN begins with LV and contains 21 characters, including letters that identify the bank. For a euro payment through SEPA, the recipient’s name and IBAN are generally the key details; a separate SWIFT/BIC is not normally needed for a SEPA payment.

If the receiving bank instructs the recipient to use its international-payment route instead, obtain that bank’s exact instructions. These may call for the recipient’s address, the bank’s name and SWIFT/BIC, or correspondent-bank details. Enter only the information requested in the Coinepay app and confirm any unfamiliar requirement with the receiving bank. Do not substitute a domestic bank code from another country for the Latvian IBAN.

Revolut account

A recipient using Revolut may be able to receive through account details displayed in their Revolut app. Ask them to share the appropriate receiving details for the currency and payment route offered; do not assume their IBAN begins with LV. Treat this as an account deposit, not as confirmation of a separate mobile-wallet payout option in Latvia.

Wise account

A recipient using Wise should check the EUR account details shown in their Wise account and provide the details requested for the selected transfer. These details need not be a Latvian IBAN. As with Revolut, choose the matching account-deposit route only if it is available in Coinepay; do not enter account details into a mobile-wallet field.

Mobile wallet

Coinepay supports mobile-wallet payouts generally, but a standalone local mobile-money wallet for international remittances to Latvia is not confirmed. Check the payout choices displayed for Latvia in the app. If a provider appears, ask the recipient for the account identifier and name that provider requires, and verify both before confirming. Latvia also has phone-number payments linked to current accounts at participating providers; that does not by itself establish a mobile-wallet remittance payout option.

Cash pickup

Choose cash pickup only if the app offers it for the recipient’s location. The recipient should follow the collection instructions supplied for that transfer and bring a valid identity document. Confirm that their name on the transfer matches their ID, and check the pickup location’s requirements and opening hours before they travel. A collection number or reference, if supplied, should be shared privately with the intended recipient.

What you need to send money to Latvia

  • A verified Coinepay account: Register and complete identity verification before using the service. Transfers are also subject to sanctions screening and local regulations.
  • The recipient’s exact legal name: Use the name on their receiving account or identity document, as applicable. Confirm spelling and name order with the recipient.
  • Details for the chosen payout: For a Latvian bank account, this usually means an LV IBAN. For other accounts, use the receiving details supplied by that provider. For any mobile-wallet or cash option shown in the app, follow its stated requirements.
  • Transfer information: Be ready to state the purpose of the payment or provide documents about the purpose or source of funds if requested.

Latvia’s local currency is the euro (EUR). If you are sending in another currency, review the conversion and the recipient’s EUR amount before confirming. For a business payment, ask the recipient which account and payment reference they want used. Recipients should also check any tax or reporting obligations that apply to what the payment represents; receiving money from abroad does not, by itself, describe its tax treatment.

How Coinepay keeps your transfer safe

Coinepay requires identity verification and screens customers and counterparties against sanctions lists. Transfers are subject to applicable regulations, and a request for documents may delay or prevent a payment until the required checks are complete. Card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions. Each remittance has status tracking, so you can check its progress in the app or the 24/7 self-service dashboard. If a transfer appears stalled or the recipient details need attention, use Coinepay support rather than sending a second payment without checking the first.

FAQ

What is the fastest way to send money to Latvia?

Compare the payout methods and estimated arrival times shown in the Coinepay app for your transfer. Availability and timing depend on the method and recipient details; no single method is always fastest.

How long does a money transfer to Latvia take?

Transfers can arrive in as little as 10 minutes, but actual delivery time depends on the payout method and destination country, including the receiving provider. The app shows an estimate before you confirm.

What details do I need to send money to a Latvian bank account?

You generally need the recipient’s full legal name and IBAN. A Latvian IBAN starts with LV and has 21 characters. Follow any additional instructions shown in the app or supplied by the receiving bank.

Can someone in Latvia receive money to a mobile wallet or in cash?

Check the Coinepay app for the payout options offered for your transfer. Cash pickup may be available; a standalone local mobile-money wallet payout in Latvia is not confirmed. Revolut and Wise account details are account-deposit details, not proof of mobile-wallet payout availability.
