Locaweb is a Brazilian web-hosting and domains provider whose shared-hosting plans are managed through an account area called Central do Cliente. If you want to pay for a hosting plan using a Coinepay virtual card, this guide walks through what you need, how the sign-up and checkout work, and what to check if a card payment is not approved. Prices and plan availability shift over time, so always confirm the current offer on Locaweb's official hosting page before you buy.
Before you start
Get these in order first so checkout is smooth:
- A verified Coinepay account. You must register and complete identity verification (KYC) before your card can be used. If you do not have one yet, create a Coinepay account and finish verification, then open the Coinepay app on iOS or Android to view your virtual card number, expiry date and CVV.
- Enough balance on the card. Locaweb states that hosting is paid in full, in advance, so the first charge can cover a whole contract cycle rather than one month. Load the card to cover the full amount shown at checkout, not just the monthly equivalent.
- Your real billing details. Use the name, address and contact information that match your identity and your Coinepay account. Accurate details reduce the chance of an antifraud refusal.
- Brazilian documentation if you need a .br domain. Registering a .br domain requires a CPF or CNPJ. Whether a customer without Brazilian documentation can buy hosting on its own, and whether foreign-issued cards are accepted, is not confirmed by Locaweb, so check with Locaweb before you commit.
Locaweb's public hosting offer is displayed in Brazilian reais (BRL). USD, EUR and other local-market prices are not confirmed. If your Coinepay card settles in another currency, your statement amount will depend on the exchange applied at the time of the charge.
Locaweb hosting plans and prices
Locaweb's hosting contract names four shared-hosting tiers: Hospedagem GO, Hospedagem I, Hospedagem II and Hospedagem III. The public hosting page prominently prices GO, I and II, and shows Hospedagem Dedicada 4 GB as a separate option.
At the time of writing (October 2026), the public page showed first-cycle rates of R$5.90/month (GO), R$10.90/month (I), R$16.90/month (II) and R$49.90/month (Dedicada 4 GB). Because payment is taken in full in advance, these are monthly equivalents rather than necessarily monthly charges. Hospedagem III's price is not confirmed on the public hosting page. Treat all figures as indicative and confirm the live price on Locaweb's official hosting page before paying.
Step-by-step: subscribe and pay
- Choose your product and plan. On Locaweb's hosting page, pick the tier (for example Hospedagem GO or II) and the contract length you want. Review what is included before continuing.
- Log in or register. Continue to Central do Cliente. Sign in to an existing account or register a new one. Enter accurate personal or company details.
- Review the order. Check the plan name, term, the total due now and any add-ons or domain selections. The full advance amount is what your card will be charged.
- Choose the payment method. Locaweb's documented checkout example offers boleto or credit card, and an existing customer's stored payment method may be carried over. Select the card option to pay with your Coinepay virtual card.
- Enter your card details. Copy the card number, expiry date and CVV from the Coinepay app, and fill in the cardholder name and billing information exactly as they appear on your Coinepay account.
- Complete any verification. If a 3-D Secure or one-time password step appears, approve it promptly, then finalize the order.
Locaweb's billing FAQ lists accepted card brands as Visa, Mastercard, Diners Club and American Express, alongside bank boleto and Itaú account debit. Because Coinepay does not publish which network or issuer applies to your specific card, and because Locaweb may apply its own checks, you cannot assume in advance that any given card will be accepted. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets a requirement before you buy.
Paying an existing invoice or changing the card on file
If you already have a Locaweb service and want to pay with your Coinepay card:
- To pay a current invoice: in Central do Cliente, go to Faturas, open the invoice and select Pagar to pay by card.
- To change your saved payment method: select your profile at the lower left, then Dados de cobrança. Locaweb advises changing the method at least 16 days before the next due date for it to affect that invoice.
Locaweb also documents Pix for paying invoices through its payments site, though whether Pix appears at every new-plan checkout is not confirmed.
Troubleshooting: card not approved
Locaweb documents an order shown as "not approved" after a card payment, including cases that need a review of cardholder and account details. It states the service is automatically cancelled if the matter is not resolved within 48 hours, so act quickly. Some customers have also reported a previously working card being refused by Locaweb's antifraud system after a card change, and one reported an order showing "Em Atraso" (overdue). These are individual reports, not universal error messages. Work through the common causes below.
Insufficient balance
Remember hosting is billed in full in advance. Confirm your Coinepay card holds enough to cover the entire charge shown at checkout, including any add-ons, then retry.
Billing address or name mismatch
Make sure the cardholder name and billing details entered at Locaweb match the information on your Coinepay account exactly. A mismatch is a common reason an antifraud review blocks a charge.
3-D Secure or verification step
If an authentication prompt appears and times out or is missed, the payment can fail. Have the Coinepay app open to approve the step, and complete it without delay.
Merchant region or card checks
Locaweb's checked materials establish a Brazil-facing BRL offer. Whether foreign-issued cards are accepted is not confirmed, and the merchant may run its own region or antifraud checks. If payment keeps failing, contact Locaweb to ask what its review needs, and contact Coinepay support to confirm your card details are correct. Never enter a false address or try to disguise your location; use your real identity and real billing information.
Refunds and cancellation
Locaweb's current hosting contract (labelled V02.2026 on the date checked) offers a full plan-price refund when cancellation is requested within 30 days of the first purchase, subject to its anti-abuse provision. That refund is specified as an invoice credit usable within 90 days rather than a return to your original payment method, so a credit may stay in your Locaweb account instead of coming back to the Coinepay card.
After 30 days, a customer-requested hosting cancellation takes effect at the end of the purchased term; the full plan and contracted services remain payable with no refund, discount or credit, and access continues until termination. To cancel a principal service such as hosting, go to Central do Cliente → Suporte → Atendimento and use chat or a support ticket. Cancelling a principal service also cancels its associated add-ons, whose data may be unrecoverable, so back up anything you need first.
Keep your Coinepay card ready

FAQ
Which card brands does Locaweb accept?
Locaweb's billing FAQ lists Visa, Mastercard, Diners Club and American Express for card payments, alongside bank boleto and Itaú account debit. Because the network and issuer of your specific Coinepay card are not published, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets a requirement before you buy.
Why was my Locaweb card payment not approved?
Locaweb documents orders shown as "not approved" that may need a review of cardholder and account details, and it cancels the service automatically if the matter is unresolved within 48 hours. Common causes include insufficient balance, a billing name or address mismatch, an incomplete 3-D Secure step, or the merchant's antifraud and region checks. Fix the detail and retry, or contact Locaweb.
Can I pay in a currency other than Brazilian reais?
Locaweb's public hosting offer is shown in Brazilian reais, and USD, EUR and other local-market prices are not confirmed. If your Coinepay card settles in another currency, the statement amount depends on the exchange applied at the time of the charge.
Do I need a CPF or CNPJ to buy Locaweb hosting?
A .br domain registration requires a CPF or CNPJ. Whether a customer without Brazilian documentation can buy hosting on its own is not confirmed by Locaweb, so check directly with Locaweb before ordering.
Can I get a refund to my Coinepay card if I cancel?
Locaweb's current hosting contract offers a full plan-price refund if you cancel within 30 days of the first purchase, but it is given as an invoice credit usable within 90 days rather than a return to your card. After 30 days, cancellation takes effect at the end of the term with no refund or credit.
