Afrihost offers services including Pure Fibre, Pure LTE, domains and Shared Hosting. If you want to pay with a Coinepay virtual card, first check that your chosen service is available to you and that its checkout accepts your card. This guide covers ordering, setting up recurring billing in Afrihost ClientZone and resolving common payment problems.

Before you start

Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using its card services. You can then find your virtual card number, expiry date and CVV in the Coinepay app or self-service dashboard. Check the app for your available balance and any details you need about your card; do not assume that every card will be accepted by Afrihost.

Afrihost lists bank-account debit orders and Visa/Mastercard cards as payment methods for month-to-month services. Adding a card involves bank 3-D Secure authentication. Contact Coinepay support to confirm that your card meets Afrihost’s stated card and authentication requirements before you buy. Afrihost makes the final decision at checkout.

Have your real name, contact information and billing details ready. Use the address associated with your payment details where requested; do not enter an invented address to pass a payment check. For Pure Fibre, check availability at the specific South African installation address: packages depend on the fibre network serving that address. Pure LTE also requires a coverage check and is tied to its registered home location. If a service is not available at your location, a different billing address or payment card will not make it available.

Choose an Afrihost service and review its charges

Start on Afrihost’s official site and select the product you actually need. Pure Fibre residential packages are month-to-month, but available speeds and charges vary by address and fibre-network provider. Pure LTE lists uncapped speed tiers named Up to 20Mbps, Up to 50Mbps and Up to 100Mbps, as well as Wireless Plus. Review the usage rules before ordering: for example, the Up to 20Mbps tier slows to 4Mbps after 100GB, while the Up to 50Mbps tier slows to 4Mbps after 150GB.

If you need a website, Afrihost Shared Hosting offers Linux packages named Silver, Gold, Platinum, Bronze Pro, Silver Pro, Gold Pro and Platinum Pro, alongside Windows hosting options. At the time of writing (October 2026), the published Linux Silver price was R84 per month. Check Afrihost’s official Shared Hosting page and your cart for current pricing, domain charges and any other amounts before confirming an order.

Payment arrangements differ for Vuma Reach fibre. Afrihost says month-to-month Vuma Reach Pure Fibre payments go through PayFast, while Vuma Reach Prepaid Fibre bundle payments use EasyPay. Follow the payment instructions for that product rather than assuming the standard Afrihost recurring-card steps below apply.

Sign up and pay at checkout

  1. Choose your product. On Afrihost’s official site, run any required address or coverage check, then select an available package. For Shared Hosting, choose a package and a domain option.
  2. Sign in or create an account. Afrihost uses ClientZone for customer accounts. Continue with your existing ClientZone login or provide your real details to create one during sign-up.
  3. Review the cart. For Shared Hosting, the cart shows the current month’s pro-rata charge and the subsequent monthly charge. Check both figures, your domain selection and the applicable terms. Other products may display different order details.
  4. Select an available card payment option. If Afrihost offers card payment for your order, enter the virtual card number, expiry date and CVV as requested. Complete any 3-D Secure prompt presented by the card-authentication process. Do not repeatedly submit an order if you are unsure whether an earlier attempt succeeded.
  5. Confirm only after checking the order. Accept the applicable terms and, where the checkout uses that label, select Complete Order. An accepted online application becomes a service order. Check ClientZone for the resulting order and billing status.

Coinepay does not set Afrihost’s packages or decide whether an order is accepted. If you need to confirm a service’s eligibility, charges or order status, check with Afrihost before trying another payment.

Add or change a card for recurring billing

For an existing Afrihost account, sign in to ClientZone → Billing → Manage Payment Details. Add the card there and link the relevant products to that payment method; adding a method alone may not assign every service to it. Be prepared to complete 3-D Secure authentication when adding a card. Review the saved method and product assignments after the process finishes.

Afrihost schedules its recurring debit for the first of the month and says that date cannot be changed. Keep enough available funds for the amount due and check upcoming charges in ClientZone. If an earlier payment has already failed, Billing → Settle my Account is the route for handling an overdue balance. Afrihost also allows a once-off EFT to settle an overdue account, but EFT is not its recurring monthly payment method.

What to do if Afrihost declines the card

A decline does not, by itself, identify the cause. Check Afrihost’s payment or order status and any message shown during checkout before retrying. Work through these possibilities:

  • Insufficient available balance: Compare the amount due with the funds shown in Coinepay. An initial pro-rata charge may differ from the later monthly amount, and an overdue account may have a separate balance. Check the actual amount in the Afrihost cart or ClientZone, then fund the card if needed before making one new attempt.
  • Billing details do not match: Recheck the name and billing information entered with Afrihost against your real payment details. Correct typing errors; do not substitute someone else’s address or an invented location.
  • 3-D Secure did not complete: If an authentication request appears, finish it and return to the checkout or ClientZone page to see whether the card was saved. If the prompt times out or the page does not update, check for an existing order or saved method before trying again. Contact Coinepay support about a card-authentication problem, and Afrihost about its checkout status.
  • Card or region checks: Afrihost states Visa/Mastercard for its standard recurring-card option. Ask Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets the stated requirements, and ask Afrihost whether its checkout can accept the card for your particular service and genuine billing location. Separately, fibre and LTE availability depends on the installation address or coverage; a successful card payment cannot override those restrictions.
  • Page or session error: If approval appears to finish but ClientZone shows an error, first check whether the method was added. You can try a fresh browser session if it was not. One customer publicly reported seeing {"response":{"rmsg":"Bad Request"}} after card approval and later succeeding in a different browser; that report does not establish a general Afrihost outage or guarantee that switching browsers will fix your issue.

Afrihost’s terms allow a failed-payment administration fee and suspension for non-payment. At the time of writing (October 2026), the stated possible fee was R50; check Afrihost’s official terms for the current amount and conditions. If your account is overdue, address its status promptly rather than assuming a newly added card settles the existing balance.

Manage or stop future payments

Changing your card does not cancel an Afrihost service. Submit a cancellation through ClientZone, not by email, and review the terms for your product first. Afrihost’s general guidance says standard non-fibre cancellation requests submitted before the 15th take effect at month-end; requests after the 15th take effect at the end of the following month. Pure Fibre requires one full calendar month’s notice and has additional early-cancellation or arrears provisions, with a Vuma Reach exception. Domain and hosting setup charges can also have distinct refund rules. Check the current Afrihost terms and your account before assuming a particular final bill or refund.

FAQ

Can I use a Coinepay virtual card for Afrihost’s monthly payments?

Afrihost lists Visa/Mastercard cards for standard month-to-month billing and requires 3-D Secure when adding a card. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets those requirements before buying; Afrihost determines whether it accepts a payment.

Where do I update my Afrihost payment card?

In ClientZone, go to Billing → Manage Payment Details, add the card and link the relevant products to it.

What if my Afrihost payment failed and I owe a balance?

Check Billing → Settle my Account in ClientZone. Adding a new recurring payment method does not necessarily settle an existing overdue balance.

Can I change Afrihost’s monthly debit date?

Afrihost says its scheduled recurring debit is on the first of the month and cannot be changed.
