To pay for a Figma subscription, first choose a plan and the seat types your team needs. Then check that your Coinepay virtual card meets Figma’s payment requirements before entering it at checkout. This guide covers the Professional upgrade flow, where to manage billing afterward, and what to check if a payment fails.

Before you start: plans, seats, and payment requirements

Figma’s standard plans are Starter, Professional, Organization, and Enterprise. Starter is free. On paid plans, Full, Dev, and Collab are paid seat types; View is free. Choose seats based on what each member needs rather than assuming every member needs a Full seat.

At the time of writing (October 2026), Figma’s USD pricing page showed these per-seat, per-month figures when billed annually:

PlanFullDevCollab
Professional$16$12$3
Organization$55$25$5
Enterprise$90$35$5

Professional offers monthly or annual billing; Organization and Enterprise have annual terms. The table is not a quote for monthly-billed Professional seats or for your location. Check Figma’s official pricing page and the total shown during checkout before purchasing. New paid subscriptions can be billed in USD, GBP, CAD, EUR, or JPY; review the currency presented for your purchase rather than assuming it will match the USD figures above.

Check card eligibility before buying: Figma says a new Professional upgrade requires a credit card. Do not assume a virtual card qualifies just because it has a card number, expiry date, and CVV. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets Figma’s requirement before you buy. Figma also documents credit-card or SEPA-debit payment for Professional, but says PayPal, ACH, and wire transfer are unavailable. Its payment-settings instructions refer to credit or debit card details; that does not change the stated credit-card requirement for a new Professional upgrade.

Get your Coinepay card ready

  1. Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using card services.
  2. Open the Coinepay self-service dashboard or mobile app and locate your virtual card. Coinepay issues a card number, expiry date, and CVV for virtual cards. You can get the app through iOS or Google Play.
  3. Check the card details and available funds in your account. Allow for the actual checkout total, which may differ from a per-seat price after seat selection, billing frequency, and applicable taxes.
  4. Use your real name and genuine billing details at checkout. If you are unsure which billing details apply to your card, ask Coinepay support before submitting payment.

Card issuance and fund services are provided by Coinepay’s licensed partner financial institutions. Check the app or contact support for any card-specific conditions relevant to your purchase. Coinepay services also vary by jurisdiction; do not attempt to bypass Figma’s or Coinepay’s eligibility rules.

Sign up for Figma and pay for Professional

  1. Create your Figma account. Use Figma’s sign-up page to register with an email address and password or select Continue with Google. If you sign up by email, complete Figma’s email verification steps.
  2. Open your Starter team. In Figma’s file browser, find the team you intend to upgrade. Check that you are working on the correct team before buying seats.
  3. Start the upgrade. Click the team’s Free badge and select Professional.
  4. Choose seats and billing. Select members’ seat types and any additional seats you need. Review the monthly or annual billing option shown for Professional, along with the currency and total. A View seat is free; Full, Dev, and Collab are paid.
  5. Enter payment details. In the Payment step, enter the Coinepay virtual card details and your real billing information. Proceed only if the payment method is eligible under Figma’s requirements.
  6. Review and purchase. Check the seat counts, billing term, amount, and terms in Review. Agree to Figma’s terms and select Complete purchase. Figma says it charges the card and updates the account immediately when the purchase succeeds.

If you need Organization, Figma documents an upgrade through Admin → Billing → upgrade, followed by team and seat selection, payment, review, and purchase. Enterprise upgrades go through Figma sales. Do not use the Professional checkout instructions as a substitute for the process or payment terms shown for those plans.

Find invoices or change your payment method

After purchasing, find billing information and invoices in the Figma file browser under Admin → Billing. To change a saved payment method, go to Admin → Settings → Billing → Payment details. Use the account and team associated with the subscription you want to manage.

Keep track of seats as your team changes: additional paid seats can affect future charges. Professional offers monthly or annual billing. Organization and Enterprise have annual terms, with quarterly invoices for added seats and an annual renewal charge. Review Figma’s billing page and invoices rather than estimating an amount from the public per-seat table.

If Figma declines the card or cannot save it

A decline does not identify its cause by itself. Check the message on Figma’s screen, then work through the relevant possibilities without repeatedly submitting unchanged details:

  • Insufficient available funds: Compare the available funds shown in Coinepay with Figma’s full checkout total, not just one seat’s advertised monthly figure. Check the selected seat count and billing term before trying again.
  • Billing details mismatch: Recheck the card number, expiry, CVV, and the real billing name and address entered in Figma. Ask Coinepay support which billing details to use if you are uncertain; do not substitute an invented address.
  • Authentication or 3-D Secure: If checkout asks you to complete a card-security step, follow the instructions presented. If the step fails or never appears, record what happened and contact Coinepay support. Do not assume every attempted payment will use the same authentication flow.
  • Card-type or region checks: A new Professional upgrade requires a credit card. Confirm eligibility with Coinepay support before retrying. If Figma flags a region or billing-currency issue, verify that your real location and payment details are eligible with Figma; do not change them to evade a check. Figma says it does not offer paid services to new customers located in Russia, including upgrades.
  • Repeated attempts: In one reported case, a user saw “the card was declined due to frequent repeated attempts,” and Figma forum support advised contacting the issuer about a possible block after rapid retries. This is a reported case, not a diagnosis for every decline. Pause and ask Coinepay support to review the attempt instead of retrying rapidly.

Users have also reported “Sorry, we are unable to save your payment method. Please refresh and try again.” Its cause is not established by the message alone. If refreshing does not help, note the exact wording, when it appeared, and whether the charge reached the card; contact Figma support about its checkout and Coinepay support about the card attempt. Avoid posting the full card number or CVV in a support message.

If a later subscription payment fails, Figma says it retries for up to 21 days. An admin can update payment details or pay the linked Stripe invoice. Continued nonpayment can restrict editing until payment succeeds. Check Admin → Billing and address the invoice promptly rather than relying on automatic retries.

Cancel or change plans deliberately

To cancel Professional, go to Admin → Settings → Plan → Cancel plan. Figma says the team retains paid features until the billing period ends, then downgrades to Starter. Organization and Enterprise customers should contact Figma support about downgrades.

Figma subscription payments are generally non-refundable, though its terms describe limited exceptions and Figma invites customers to contact support about a problem. Removing or downgrading an Organization or Enterprise paid seat during its term does not produce a prorated refund; that seat remains available for reassignment until renewal. Review the plan, seats, and checkout total before confirming a purchase.

FAQ

Can I use a Coinepay virtual card for a new Figma Professional upgrade?

Figma requires a credit card for new Professional upgrades. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets that requirement before buying; acceptance at checkout is not assured.

Where do I find my Figma invoices and update my card?

Find invoices in the file browser under Admin → Billing. To change a payment method, go to Admin → Settings → Billing → Payment details.

Why was my payment declined?

Check available funds, the checkout total, card and real billing details, any authentication prompt, and Figma’s card-type or region requirements. If the cause remains unclear, contact Figma and Coinepay support with the error message.

How do I cancel Figma Professional?

Go to Admin → Settings → Plan → Cancel plan. Paid features remain until the billing period ends, after which the team downgrades to Starter.
