You can use a Coinepay virtual card to attempt payment for an El Mundo digital subscription through El Mundo’s website. This guide covers the web checkout, where to manage a web-bought subscription, and what to check if your card is declined. Card acceptance depends on El Mundo’s checkout and payment checks; having a virtual card does not guarantee a successful purchase.

What you need before subscribing

  • An El Mundo account and email address. You can create an account during the web subscription process if you do not already have one. El Mundo’s digital-subscription terms say the service is for individuals over 16 and for nonprofessional use.
  • A Coinepay account with identity verification completed. You must register and complete KYC before using Coinepay card services. You can manage your card in the Coinepay mobile app or 24/7 self-service dashboard.
  • Your virtual card details. Coinepay issues a card number, expiry date and CVV. Check the card’s available balance and any applicable details in your Coinepay account before starting checkout.
  • Your real billing information. Enter your own name and billing details accurately. Do not use an invented address or someone else’s identity to try to pass payment or regional checks.

El Mundo’s digital-subscription terms list credit or debit card, PayPal and Google Pay as web payment options, and specify that direct-web payments are in euros. Its help center names Visa, Mastercard and American Express among accepted cards. That list does not establish whether a particular Coinepay card will be accepted. If checkout states a restriction on card type or issuing country, contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets it before you buy.

Choose the right El Mundo subscription

El Mundo’s help center calls its digital article-access subscription El Mundo Premium. Its digital-subscription terms also name “Suscripción El Mundo” and “Suscripción EL MUNDO + EXPANSIÓN”. The combined option includes digital articles from both publications and their Orbyt PDF editions. Monthly, annual and two-year terms may be offered, depending on the offer available when you subscribe.

Read the benefits and term shown on the actual checkout page rather than assuming every named option will appear in your location or account. Prices vary by region and purchase channel; check El Mundo’s official Premium pricing page and the final order summary for the current price, introductory terms and renewal amount. An in-app subscription may have different pricing and billing arrangements from a purchase made directly on El Mundo’s website.

How to pay on El Mundo’s website

  1. Open El Mundo’s subscription flow. Go to El Mundo’s website and select its “Suscríbete” section, or open a Premium article and follow its subscription prompt.
  2. Sign in or create your El Mundo account. Use an email address you can access. Review the subscription presented to you and choose the available term and publication access that you want.
  3. Review the order form. Check the amount payable now, the currency, the renewal terms and the information requested for your account or billing records. El Mundo’s direct-web payments are specified in euros. Complete the form with your real details.
  4. Prepare your Coinepay card. If you are new to Coinepay, register and complete identity verification first. In the Coinepay app or dashboard, locate your virtual card number, expiry date and CVV. Confirm that your available balance can cover the checkout amount, allowing for any applicable conversion or charges shown in your account.
  5. Choose card payment and enter the details. If the checkout offers a card option, enter the virtual card information carefully. Use the billing details that genuinely apply to you and your payment account. Do not change your country or address to try to bypass a checkout rule.
  6. Complete any verification and confirm. Accept El Mundo’s terms if you agree, then follow any payment-authentication instructions displayed. Do not repeatedly submit the order while a verification step is pending.
  7. Check your email. El Mundo’s terms say the contract is completed when you receive its confirmation email. If you see a payment attempt but no confirmation, check your inbox and spam folder, then review your El Mundo account before trying again.

This is the direct-web route. If you buy through Apple’s App Store or Google Play instead, payment and subscription billing are handled through that store, not through El Mundo’s web billing area. To enter a Coinepay card directly into El Mundo’s checkout, use the website’s card-payment option when it is offered.

If your card is declined or checkout will not open

A failed attempt does not, by itself, identify the cause. The message on your screen and any information in your Coinepay account are better starting points than guessing at an issuer code. Check the following before retrying:

  • Insufficient available balance: Compare the amount due at checkout with the balance available for the card. Remember that the web order is charged in euros and that the amount payable may differ from an introductory price you saw elsewhere. Check your Coinepay account for applicable conversion information or charges rather than assuming an exchange rate.
  • Billing-details mismatch: Recheck the card number, expiry date, CVV, name and any billing address requested. Correct typing mistakes, but use only your genuine details. If you are unsure which billing information applies to your card, ask Coinepay support before making another attempt.
  • 3-D Secure or other authentication: If a verification screen appears, complete the instructions shown and return to checkout. If it expires or does not load, check the payment status before submitting again. Contact Coinepay support if you need help with a card-authentication step.
  • Merchant region or card-eligibility checks: El Mundo or its payment provider may apply checks to the details submitted at checkout. If you are shown a restriction on residence, card type or card-issuing country, do not try to work around it. Contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets the stated requirement, and ask El Mundo about eligibility for the subscription you selected.
  • Checkout page problem: If you cannot reach the purchase page at all, El Mundo’s purchase help suggests trying another browser. Keep any on-screen message and the time of the attempt available when contacting support.

If a charge appears but access is missing, avoid making several new purchases. Look for El Mundo’s confirmation email, sign in with the email used at checkout and contact El Mundo about the subscription status. For a card transaction you do not recognize or a card-specific decline you cannot resolve, contact Coinepay support.

Manage renewal, receipts or cancellation

For a subscription bought directly on El Mundo’s website, go to your private area and open “MIS SUSCRIPCIONES”. El Mundo’s help center identifies “Añadir nuevo método de pago” there for changing the renewal payment method. To cancel a web-bought Premium subscription, use “Mis suscripciones” → “Cancelar suscripción”. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period; deleting your site registration does not cancel the subscription.

For web purchases, invoices and tax details are in the private area under “MIS RECIBOS Y FACTURAS”. If you subscribed through Apple or Google, manage the subscription and its billing through the relevant store instead. El Mundo’s digital terms say subscriptions renew automatically for the same term unless cancelled, so check the next renewal date and price in your account or purchase terms. The terms also describe circumstances in which the digital-content withdrawal right is lost once supply begins with the consumer’s express consent and acknowledgment. If you have a refund question, review the terms that applied to your order and contact El Mundo about your specific purchase.
