You can use a Coinepay virtual card to attempt payment for a Haaretz digital subscription, either by entering its details at a card checkout on Haaretz’s website or by adding it as a payment method to your Apple account for an eligible in-app purchase. These are different billing routes. Before you subscribe, check which company will charge you, the offer shown for your region, and the renewal terms displayed at checkout.

What you need before subscribing

  • A Coinepay account and virtual card. Register and complete identity verification before using card services. Your virtual card provides a card number, expiry date and CVV, which you can view in the Coinepay app or self-service dashboard.
  • Enough available funds. Check the amount due at checkout and your available card balance. Allow for any applicable currency conversion or other charges shown to you; do not rely on an advertised introductory amount to cover a later renewal.
  • Your real account and billing details. Use your own name and the billing information associated with your payment method. Check the country and address you enter rather than changing them to get around a regional offer or payment check.
  • Access to your chosen checkout. Open Haaretz’s official website for a direct subscription, or the Haaretz English-language iPhone app for an Apple-billed subscription where that purchase option is available.

If you have not registered with Coinepay, create an account first. Check the app or dashboard for card details and any account-specific information you need before paying. Card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions, and some Coinepay services are not available in every jurisdiction.

Choose between Haaretz website billing and Apple billing

The English-language iPhone app describes two digital subscription options: Haaretz Monthly and Haaretz Annual. They describe billing intervals, not separately documented content tiers. App-store prices vary by region; check the offer displayed to you before confirming. Do not assume an App Store price is also the price on Haaretz’s website.

With an eligible in-app purchase, Apple charges the payment method on your Apple account when you confirm. Entering a Coinepay card in Apple’s payment settings is therefore different from entering it at a Haaretz website checkout. If you want Haaretz to bill your card directly, use the official website’s subscription checkout and inspect its available payment options before submitting anything.

The Haaretz app says customers using the Israeli App Store cannot subscribe through the App Store. If this applies to you, do not try to change your account location to bypass the restriction. Check Haaretz’s official website for an offer available to you instead. Availability and accepted payment methods must be confirmed at the checkout you actually use.

How to pay on the Haaretz website

  1. Open Haaretz’s official website. Find its digital subscription offer and review the access, billing period and price displayed for you. Website offers may differ from the app’s Haaretz Monthly and Haaretz Annual listings.
  2. Choose an available offer. Read the renewal and cancellation terms shown with it, including whether any displayed introductory price changes later. Continue to the account and payment steps provided on the site.
  3. Sign in or create your Haaretz account when prompted. Supply your real contact and billing details. Keep the email address you use so you can find your receipt and regain account access if needed.
  4. Select card payment if it is offered. Open your Coinepay card details in the app or dashboard and enter the card number, expiry and CVV into the appropriate checkout fields. Complete any billing-address fields with accurate details.
  5. Review and confirm. Check the final amount, currency and renewal terms, then complete any payment verification requested. Wait for the checkout result rather than repeatedly submitting the same payment.
  6. Verify access. Look for a confirmation from Haaretz and check that your subscription appears when you sign in. If a charge appears but access does not, save the receipt and contact Haaretz about the subscription before attempting another purchase.

The exact screens and payment methods for an ordinary website subscription can change. Follow the labels on the live Haaretz checkout; do not use a gift or student-sponsorship purchase page as a substitute for an ordinary individual subscription.

How to use your card for an eligible iPhone app subscription

  1. Add the card to your Apple account. On your iPhone, go to Settings → your name → Payment & Shipping. Follow Apple’s prompts to add your Coinepay virtual card details and your real billing information.
  2. Open the Haaretz app. Sign in or create a Haaretz account as prompted, then review the subscription options offered in your App Store region.
  3. Choose Haaretz Monthly or Haaretz Annual if offered. Check the price and renewal information on Apple’s purchase confirmation screen. Confirm only if you agree to those terms; Apple bills the payment method associated with your Apple account.
  4. Check the result. Confirm the subscription in the app and retain Apple’s purchase receipt. If you have more than one Apple payment method, check which one Apple used rather than assuming the newly added card was charged.

Adding a card to Apple does not guarantee that Apple will accept it or that an in-app subscription is available in your region. If Apple’s payment setup or purchase screen rejects the card, follow the message displayed there; Coinepay cannot override Apple’s checkout rules.

What to check if the card is declined

A decline does not, by itself, identify the cause. No specific Haaretz card-error wording is established here, so use the message on your actual checkout and check the following before retrying:

  • Insufficient balance: Compare the available funds shown in Coinepay with the full amount presented at checkout. Check whether a renewal, another pending transaction or a currency difference affects the amount available. Add funds through the options shown in your Coinepay account if needed, then try again.
  • Billing-address mismatch: Recheck your name, address and postal code against your real billing information. Correct typing errors at Haaretz’s checkout or, for an Apple-billed purchase, under Settings → your name → Payment & Shipping. Do not enter an invented address.
  • Payment authentication: If checkout requests 3-D Secure or another verification step, complete the prompt through the channel provided. If it times out or fails, return to checkout and try again once. If no prompt arrives, contact Coinepay support with the approximate time and amount of the attempted payment; never share your CVV or a one-time code.
  • Merchant or region checks: Confirm that the subscription route is available for your actual country and that the card and billing details meet the requirements displayed by Haaretz or Apple. The Israeli App Store restriction concerns in-app subscriptions specifically. If a checkout states a card-type or issuing-country requirement, contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets it before you buy.

If a payment still fails, note whether it happened on Haaretz’s website or in Apple’s checkout. Contact the operator of that checkout about its rejection message, and contact Coinepay support for help reviewing the card transaction. Avoid making multiple rapid attempts while a charge is pending.

Manage renewal or cancellation

For an Apple-billed subscription, go to iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Haaretz to review or cancel renewal. Haaretz’s app description says renewal must be cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends; cancellation does not cancel the active period. Eligible Apple purchases may qualify for a refund request through Apple, but a refund is not guaranteed.

For a subscription bought directly from Haaretz, consult the account information, receipt and terms provided for that purchase, or contact Haaretz for the applicable cancellation and refund process. Keep your payment receipt: the company that billed you is the best starting point for subscription-access, renewal and refund questions.

FAQ

Can I enter my Coinepay card directly in the Haaretz iPhone app?

An eligible in-app subscription is billed through your Apple account. Add the card under iPhone Settings → your name → Payment & Shipping, then check Apple’s purchase confirmation screen.

Are Haaretz Monthly and Haaretz Annual website plan names?

They are the names shown for digital subscriptions in the English-language iPhone app. Check Haaretz’s website for the offers and prices available at its own checkout.

Why was my Haaretz payment declined?

Check your available balance, real billing details and any authentication prompt. Also confirm that the checkout is available in your region. If it still fails, contact the checkout provider and Coinepay support.

Where do I cancel an Apple-billed Haaretz subscription?

Go to iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Haaretz. Haaretz says to cancel renewal at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
