Coinepay Global Remittance supports transfers from the United Arab Emirates to the Philippines. You can choose a Philippine bank deposit, mobile-wallet payout or cash pickup, subject to the options shown for your transfer. This guide explains what to prepare, how to review the transfer before sending and what to do if the payout needs attention.
What you need before sending
Register for a Coinepay account and complete identity verification before making a transfer. You can manage the transfer through the Coinepay dashboard or the Coinepay mobile app for iOS or Android. Use your real identity and accurate information about the person receiving the money.
Ask the recipient for their full legal name as it appears on their bank account, wallet profile or government-issued photo ID. You will also need payout details for the method you choose. Coinepay may request the recipient’s address or mobile number, the purpose of the transfer, or documents about the source of funds. Gather these details in advance rather than guessing at a form field.
The Philippine peso (PHP) is the local currency. Check the sending and receiving currencies displayed when setting up your transfer, along with the payout method available for that transaction. If the recipient expects a particular currency or account type, confirm those details with them before you proceed.
Choose how the recipient will receive the money
Coinepay supports bank deposit, mobile-wallet payout and cash pickup for eligible transfers. Select the method that fits the recipient’s situation, then follow the fields and instructions shown for that specific payout. Availability can depend on the transaction and local requirements.
Bank-account deposit
For a Philippine bank payout, obtain the recipient’s full legal name, bank name and actual account number. Banks such as BDO, BPI, Landbank and Metrobank are examples of Philippine account providers. Ask the recipient to copy their account number from their bank’s own records and check every digit. Philippine account numbers do not have one universal length, so do not add or remove digits to fit an assumed format.
The Philippines does not use a nationally registered IBAN format. Do not create an IBAN for a Philippine account. If the transfer instructions specifically call for a direct international SWIFT wire, obtain the receiving bank’s SWIFT/BIC and its instructions for incoming transfers, as well as the beneficiary’s account number. A local bank deposit may ask for different information; enter a SWIFT/BIC or another bank identifier only if the transfer form calls for it. If you are unsure which code a field requires, check with Coinepay support before confirming.
Check that the account can receive the type of payout selected. For example, Wise PHP account details are intended for domestic receipt and cannot receive an international SWIFT wire from outside the Philippines. If a recipient gives you those details, clarify the transfer route before treating them as international wire instructions. The receiving bank may also ask the recipient for information about an incoming payment.
Mobile-wallet payout
GCash and Maya are common Philippine mobile wallets. For a wallet payout, ask the recipient which wallet they use, their full legal name and the mobile number or other wallet identifier requested in the transfer form. Have them verify that the wallet is registered and able to receive the payment. The name and wallet details should match their actual profile; a familiar nickname may not be enough for payment checks.
Wallet providers have their own eligibility and balance rules. A recipient who cannot receive a payout may need to check their account status with their wallet provider. GCash, for example, applies wallet and incoming-transaction limits that may affect receipt. Do not assume that a wallet payout and a bank deposit have the same recipient requirements.
Cash pickup
Cash pickup may suit a recipient who would rather collect funds in person. Enter the recipient’s full legal name exactly as shown on their government-issued photo ID and check the available pickup instructions before sending. Tell the recipient to bring that ID and any transfer reference or sender details specified in the Coinepay transfer instructions. Pickup networks can have their own reference formats, so use the reference provided for your transaction rather than assuming a particular code is required.
The recipient should check the pickup location, its opening hours and any identification requirements before travelling. If their ID name differs from the name entered on the transfer, contact support for guidance instead of asking the recipient to try to collect it under a different name.
How to send money from the UAE to the Philippines
- Sign in to a verified account. If you are new to Coinepay, register and complete identity verification. Start a new Global Remittance transfer in the dashboard or app.
- Set the destination and currency. Choose the Philippines as the destination and review the sending and receiving currencies offered for your transfer. The local receiving currency is PHP. Enter the amount using the fields shown.
- Select a payout method. Choose bank deposit, an available mobile wallet or cash pickup. The transfer form will show which recipient details are required for that choice.
- Enter and check recipient details. Compare the legal name and payout information against records supplied directly by the recipient. For bank deposit, verify the bank and account number. For a wallet, verify its identifier and profile name. For cash pickup, verify the name against the recipient’s ID.
- Review the quote and instructions. Coinepay shows the exchange rate and fees before you confirm. Read the receiving amount, payout method and recipient information as well as any request for a transfer purpose or supporting documents. If anything is wrong, correct it before proceeding.
- Confirm and track the transfer. Follow the displayed funding and confirmation steps. Then use the transfer’s status tracking in the dashboard or app. Share pickup information with the intended recipient only when the transfer instructions say it is ready.
Recipient-side checks and transfer reviews
Before you send, ask the recipient to confirm that their account or wallet is active and that they can access it. A bank may need to process the incoming payment, while a wallet provider may apply its own account checks. For cash pickup, the recipient needs to satisfy the pickup provider’s identification requirements. These checks can differ even when the same person receives the money.
Transfers are subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and local regulations. Coinepay does not serve sanctioned persons or residents of jurisdictions under comprehensive sanctions, and customers and counterparties are screened against sanctions lists. Coinepay or a receiving institution may ask for documents explaining the payment’s purpose or source of funds. Provide accurate information through the requested channel and wait for the review outcome; do not route a payment through someone else to avoid a check.
Troubleshooting a Philippines transfer
- Wrong recipient name or payout details: Check the transfer status immediately. If it has not been completed, contact Coinepay support with the transfer reference and explain the error. Do not assume you can edit a confirmed transfer or that a bank or wallet will correct the details automatically.
- Compliance review or document request: Read the request in the app or dashboard and submit genuine, consistent information. A review may be needed to verify identity, the recipient or the purpose or source of funds. Contact support if you do not understand what document is requested.
- Transfer still in progress: Check its tracked status before sending again. Funding steps, security checks, receiving-bank processing, weekends or public holidays can affect progress. If a wallet payout is involved, ask the recipient to check whether their wallet is eligible to receive it.
- Rejected or returned payout: An incorrect account number, a name mismatch or an account that cannot receive the payment may cause a rejection. Follow the status updates and ask support what happened, what information must be corrected and what your options are before creating a replacement transfer.
Keep the transfer reference and any messages about the payout until the recipient confirms receipt. If the displayed details do not match the recipient’s records, stop and resolve the discrepancy before confirming a new transfer.

FAQ
Does a recipient in the Philippines need an IBAN?
No. The Philippines has no nationally registered IBAN format. For bank deposit, use the recipient’s actual account number and the other details requested for that payout.
When do I need a SWIFT/BIC?
A direct international SWIFT wire requires the receiving bank’s SWIFT/BIC. For a local bank payout, provide a bank code only if the transfer form requests it; ask Coinepay support if a field is unclear.
Can the recipient receive money through GCash or Maya?
Choose an available mobile-wallet option when setting up the transfer and enter the recipient’s correct wallet details. The recipient should check that their wallet is registered and able to receive the payout.
What should I do if I entered the wrong account number?
Check the transfer status and contact Coinepay support promptly with the transfer reference. Do not assume a confirmed transfer can be edited.
Where can I see the exchange rate and fees?
Coinepay displays the exchange rate and fees for your transfer before you confirm it. Review the receiving amount and recipient details at the same time.
