StockX is a marketplace for individual purchases, not a subscription you need to activate. If you want to try paying for an item with a Coinepay virtual card, prepare your card details, check the full order total and follow the checkout flow for the StockX marketplace you are using. A payment method listed by StockX is not a guarantee that every individual card or order will be approved.
What you need before checkout
- A Coinepay account and virtual card: Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using card services. Your virtual card’s number, expiry date and CVV are available after issuance in Coinepay’s dashboard or mobile app.
- Enough available funds: Allow for the entire amount StockX displays at checkout, including applicable fees, shipping and tax. The item price alone may not be the final amount charged.
- Your real contact and address details: Have your email address, phone number and shipping address ready. Enter genuine billing information consistent with your card records; if you are unsure what billing details to use, check the Coinepay app or contact Coinepay support.
- Access to payment verification: Keep the Coinepay app or dashboard accessible in case your payment requires an additional authentication step.
StockX lists several accepted card brands and other payment methods, but availability and authorization can depend on the card and transaction. Check the payment choices shown for your order rather than assuming that a particular card will be accepted.
Choose the right StockX checkout flow
StockX has three shopping experiences: the Verified Marketplace for new or unworn items, the Listings Marketplace for used or unique items, and StockX Live. These are marketplace types, not subscription tiers. The experience you choose affects whether you must sign in and which purchase options are available.
For an eligible Verified Marketplace purchase, StockX offers Guest Checkout. You can enter your email address, shipping address, phone number and payment method without creating a StockX account. Sign in or create an account if you want to make an Offer or keep your order history in your account. Listings and Live require you to log in or sign up before buying. Listings is available to US buyers and sellers on StockX’s website and iOS app; Live was available as early access for US customers at the time of writing.
If the item offers Buy Now, you can proceed to checkout at the displayed purchase price. If you choose to make an Offer, follow StockX’s prompts for that transaction instead; an Offer is not the same as immediately completing a Buy Now purchase. Some payment options and checks differ between the two flows.
How to pay for a StockX purchase with your Coinepay card
- Get your card details. Open your Coinepay dashboard or the iOS app or Android app, and locate your virtual card’s number, expiry date and CVV. Do not share these details in messages to a seller.
- Find the item on StockX. Confirm the item, size or variant, condition and marketplace experience before proceeding. If you intend to use your card for an immediate purchase, select Buy Now when available.
- Start checkout or sign in. On an eligible Verified Marketplace order, use Guest Checkout or your StockX account. For Listings or Live, log in or sign up as prompted. Provide your real email, phone number and shipping address.
- Select the card-payment option shown. Enter your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date and CVV where StockX requests card details. Use your genuine billing information, matching the details associated with your payment method. Do not change countries or supply an unrelated address to try to pass a regional check.
- Review the complete order. Check the item price, buyer fees, shipping, tax, delivery information and final payable total before confirming. Verified Marketplace buyer fees can vary with the item price, buyer and seller locations, and market conditions; use the checkout total for your order. Listings has its own processing fee, and optional verification may add a charge if offered and selected.
- Complete any verification and confirm. If an authentication prompt appears, follow the instructions presented by your card provider or StockX. Submit the purchase only after reviewing the final amount, then check the on-screen result and any StockX confirmation email or account order history.
StockX may display instalment providers such as Affirm, Cash App Afterpay, PayPal Pay Later or Klarna on eligible Buy Now checkouts. Their availability and terms depend on the order and region, and they are separate from entering your Coinepay card directly. Buy Now Pay Later is not supported on StockX Live. In the US, Apple Pay and PayPal Fast Checkout may also appear for Buy Now purchases. If you intend to apply StockX Credit, a gift-card balance or a discount code, do so before entering either fast-checkout flow; StockX says they cannot be added inside it.
What to do if your card is declined
A failed payment does not, by itself, identify the cause. Check what StockX actually says, whether the order was placed, and whether a charge is pending before trying again. Work through these common causes:
- Insufficient available balance: Compare your available funds with StockX’s final checkout total, not just the item price. If needed, use the Coinepay app to review your card and funding options before making another attempt. Check for a pending authorization so you do not mistake it for a completed second purchase.
- Billing details do not match: StockX identifies a billing address differing from card-provider records as a possible reason a payment method cannot be added. Correct typos and use your real details. If you do not know which billing address is associated with your card, ask Coinepay support rather than trying several invented addresses.
- Authentication was not completed: A card transaction may require 3-D Secure or another verification step. Return to the active checkout and complete any legitimate prompt. If no prompt appears or it fails, check your app and contact Coinepay support with the time and amount of the attempted payment; StockX support can help investigate its checkout result.
- Merchant or regional checks: StockX notes that international cards can cause payment-method difficulties. Order eligibility and available methods also differ by region. Confirm that your actual location, shipping address and selected StockX experience are eligible. If StockX imposes a card-type or issuing-country restriction on your order, contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets it before you buy; do not assume it does.
- Saved-payment or browser issues: If you have a StockX account, StockX directs users to the account’s Settings section in a web browser to update a card used for buying or selling. Check the details there, and try an updated browser or app if the checkout data appears stale. Seller payout details are separate and are managed through the account Wallet, not buyer card settings.
StockX says more than five attempts to add a payment method within 60 minutes can trigger a temporary 60-minute block. If repeated attempts are failing, stop and resolve the underlying issue before trying again. An unsuccessful Buy Now attempt or Offer may also require StockX identity verification. The message “CC Authorization Failed” is documented for a seller whose required card is missing or invalid; it is not a diagnosis for every declined buyer checkout. If you contact support, provide the exact message you saw, without sending your full card number or CVV.
Check cancellation and return terms before buying
Do not treat a StockX purchase like a cancellable subscription. Verified Marketplace orders generally cannot be freely cancelled. For eligible orders outside the estimated delivery window, signed-in buyers may see a self-service option under Pending Orders. For Listings or Live purchases, buyers instead request cancellation from the seller by Direct Message.
Return routes also differ. Eligible US Verified Marketplace items marked “14 Day Return” can be returned within 14 days of delivery for StockX Credit, rather than an ordinary refund to your card; Listings and Live are excluded from that change-of-mind policy. A materially wrong, damaged or misdescribed item may qualify for a Buyer Promise claim within 14 days of delivery, with an approved return refunded to the original payment method. EU and UK buyers also have a 14-day right of withdrawal. Review the current StockX terms for your item and location before confirming payment.

FAQ
Do I need a StockX account to pay with my Coinepay virtual card?
Not for eligible Verified Marketplace Guest Checkout. Listings and Live require you to sign in or sign up, and an account is needed to make an Offer.
Why is the StockX checkout total higher than the item price?
The final total can include buyer fees, shipping and tax. Review the complete amount at checkout before confirming your purchase.
What should I do if StockX declines my virtual card?
Check your available funds, real billing details and any authentication prompt. Avoid repeated attempts; if the issue persists, contact StockX about the checkout result and Coinepay support about the card attempt.
Will a StockX return go back to my virtual card?
It depends on the return route. Eligible US “14 Day Return” change-of-mind returns receive StockX Credit, while approved Buyer Promise returns are refunded to the original payment method.
