Zwift turns indoor cycling and running into an interactive training world, and a paid membership unlocks its full roadmap of routes, workouts and events. If you want to keep your training spending in one place, a Coinepay virtual card gives you an instant card number, expiry date and CVV you can use at Zwift's own checkout. This guide walks through what you need, how to subscribe step by step, and how to work through the most common reasons a card is declined.
What you need before you start
Getting set up takes two sides: your Coinepay card and your Zwift account.
- A verified Coinepay account. Register at Coinepay and complete identity verification (KYC) before you try to pay. Card services require this step, and services related to virtual assets are not available to residents of mainland China; some services are not available in every jurisdiction.
- A Coinepay virtual card with available balance. Open the Coinepay app (iOS or Google Play) or the dashboard to view your card number, expiry and CVV, and make sure it holds enough to cover the plan plus any applicable taxes.
- Your real billing address. Use the genuine name and address linked to your Coinepay account. Zwift checks the billing address against your card, so accurate details matter.
- A free Zwift account. You can create one on the Zwift website or in the app before you choose a plan.
Zwift plans and prices
Zwift offers two paid options that differ only by billing period, not features: a Monthly Membership and an Annual Membership. At the time of writing (October 2026), Zwift's published prices include US$19.99/month or US$199.99/year in the United States, €19.99/month or €199.99/year in the eurozone, and £17.99/month or £179.99/year in the UK, plus applicable taxes. Prices vary by region and currency, so always confirm the current figure on Zwift's official pricing page before you buy.
A couple of policies are worth knowing up front:
- New Monthly members get a 14-day trial that becomes a paid recurring subscription unless you cancel. The Annual membership is charged upfront and has no trial.
- Taxes depend on your billing location, and Zwift says the payable price and billing date are shown before a membership or trial starts.
- Zwift gift cards pay for shop merchandise, not memberships, so you cannot use one to cover a subscription.
- If you subscribe through the Apple App Store instead, Apple bills and manages that subscription; this guide covers Zwift-billed checkout where you enter a card directly.
Step-by-step: subscribe to Zwift with your Coinepay card
- Create or sign in to your Zwift account. Use your real identity and email.
- Go to the membership page. Open zwift.com/billing/membership in a browser.
- Choose your billing country and plan. Select Monthly or Annual Membership. Your billing country affects the currency and price shown.
- Enter your billing address. Type the exact address registered to your Coinepay card.
- Select card as the payment method. Depending on your billing country, Zwift accepts supported debit cards and Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover credit cards, plus PayPal and Apple Pay where available. Enter your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date and CVV exactly as shown in the app.
- Review the order summary and terms. Zwift displays an order summary and the subscription terms, including the price and billing date, before you confirm.
- Complete any security check. If your card requires 3-D Secure, approve the prompt in your Coinepay app to authorize the payment.
- Confirm. After the payment succeeds, your membership (or 14-day trial on a new monthly plan) activates. Keep the confirmation for your records.
Note that Direct Debit is unavailable for new memberships since January 2025, so entering a card (or another supported method) is the route for new subscribers.
Where to manage billing later
For Zwift-billed subscriptions, you manage the membership itself at zwift.com/billing/membership. Your payment details and billing history live under account Settings → Billing. If you ever change cards, update the details here so renewals do not fail.
If you subscribed through the Apple App Store, manage and cancel that subscription through Apple instead — not on the Zwift site.
Troubleshooting a declined card
Some members have reported a "Credit Card Declined" message during reactivation, and older reports mention "An error has occurred sending your payment information to the gateway. Please verify the information entered." Wording can change, but Zwift's documented payment checks point to a handful of causes you can work through.
Insufficient balance
Make sure your Coinepay card holds enough for the plan plus taxes. For an Annual Membership the full amount is charged upfront, so the balance needs to cover the whole year at once. Top up in the Coinepay app and try again.
Billing address or card details mismatch
Incorrect details or a mismatched billing address is a documented failure cause. Re-enter the card number, expiry and CVV carefully, and make sure the billing address matches the one on your Coinepay account exactly, including country and postal code.
3-D Secure not completed
If an authentication prompt appears and times out or is dismissed, the charge can fail. Keep the Coinepay app handy during checkout so you can approve the 3-D Secure request promptly, then retry.
Merchant region and issuer checks
Zwift says payment availability depends on both the card-issuing country and your current location being supported by the relevant processor. Its documented causes also include expired or inactive cards, unsupported recurring or U.S.-processed transactions, an unsupported issuer or location, and a temporary block after repeated failed attempts. Zwift lists AUD, CAD, CHF, EUR, GBP, JPY, NOK, NZD, USD and ZAR as supported billing currencies, but it notes that currency support alone does not guarantee that every card or location can complete checkout. If you suspect an issuer or region restriction, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the requirement before you try again, and avoid repeated attempts that could trigger a temporary block.
Other flagged situations
Zwift also flags possible problems with an American Express holder's profile name containing special characters, Indian-issued cards subject to recurring-payment rules, and Apple Pay funded solely by an Apple Account balance. If none of the fixes above resolve the decline, wait a short while for any temporary block to clear, then retry, or reach out through Coinepay support or our Telegram channel for help checking your card.
Cancellation and refunds
If you decide to stop, cancel a Zwift-billed subscription at zwift.com/billing/membership at least 24 hours before renewal (or seven days if you still have a legacy Direct Debit mandate); access continues to the end of the paid period. Early cancellation normally brings no prorated refund, but a first-time annual subscriber who cancels within 30 days receives a full refund. App Store purchases must be canceled — and refunds requested — through Apple.
