Tabnine is an AI coding assistant for developers and teams. If you want to pay for it with a Coinepay virtual card, this guide walks through what you need, how Tabnine's current sign-up and purchase flow works, and what to check if a payment is declined. Because Tabnine's purchasing arrangements changed in 2026, we also flag where you should confirm details directly with Tabnine before you buy.

Before you start: what has changed with Tabnine

Tricentis announced its acquisition of Tabnine on 30 July 2026 and said it would integrate Tabnine's Enterprise Context Engine into its own platform. Since then, Tabnine's pricing pages have redirected toward a contact/quote flow rather than a documented self-service checkout. In practice this means:

  • The purchase path for most plans now runs through a "Get a quote" request rather than an instant online card form.
  • Whether a fully self-service individual purchase is still available is not confirmed, so you may be guided through a sales or onboarding process.
  • Accepted payment methods and card types at Tabnine checkout are not publicly documented.

For these reasons, treat any plan names and prices you have seen as a starting point and confirm the live total, currency and accepted payment methods on Tabnine's official site before entering card details.

What you need before you pay

  • A verified Coinepay account. Register at Coinepay and complete identity verification (KYC). Card services require KYC to be finished first.
  • A Coinepay virtual card. Once issued, you get an instant card number, expiry date and CVV in the dashboard or the Coinepay app (iOS / Google Play).
  • Enough balance on the card to cover the plan, plus any applicable taxes. Tabnine's 2024 terms state fees are quoted and payable in US dollars, excluding applicable taxes, so budget for a USD charge and possible tax on top.
  • Your real billing details. Use the name and billing address that match your Coinepay account. Do not use fake addresses or any method to disguise your location.
  • A work email, if you are setting up a team. Tabnine's documentation describes verifying a work email through an emailed link during sign-up.

Tabnine plans (confirm the current offering)

The last indexed Tabnine pricing pages named Tabnine Code Assistant and The Tabnine Agentic Platform, with separate Tabnine Headless Agents - Business and Tabnine Headless Agents - Enterprise tiers. At the time those pages were indexed (around early October 2026), Code Assistant was listed at $39 per user/month and the Agentic Platform at $59 per user/month, both on annual subscriptions and both offering "Get a quote"; the headless tiers were listed at $1,200/month and $5,000/month. These are last-indexed figures, not verified live checkout prices, and the pages now redirect. Always check the official Tabnine pricing page for the current plan names and amounts before paying, as prices and plans vary and may change.

Some listings also mentioned a reserved token-consumption quota charged at LLM-provider prices plus a 5% margin when using Tabnine-provided LLM access. Whether that applies to a new quote is not confirmed, so ask Tabnine what recurring and usage-based charges your plan includes.

Step by step: sign up and pay

  1. Create your Tabnine user. On tabnine.com, start as an individual or prospective team admin. Tabnine's documentation describes creating a user and verifying a work email through an emailed link. Enterprise members may instead accept an invitation from their team admin.
  2. Install and activate the IDE plugin. Install the Tabnine plugin for your IDE and activate it with your user, as described in Tabnine's getting-started docs.
  3. Choose a plan or request a quote. Open the official pricing page and select the plan that fits your use. Because the current flow points to "Get a quote," you may submit a request and be contacted rather than reaching an instant checkout.
  4. Reach the payment step. If a self-service card form is offered, enter your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date and CVV. If you are routed through sales, ask whether card payment is supported and what the exact charge will be.
  5. Enter billing details that match your card. Use the same name and billing address registered to your Coinepay account so address checks pass.
  6. Complete any 3-D Secure step. If the payment triggers an extra authentication prompt, approve it in the Coinepay app. Keep the app handy so you can confirm in time.
  7. Confirm and keep records. After paying, save the confirmation and check your Tabnine admin settings. The documented admin License settings show seats and license expiry; a self-service payment-settings screen is not documented, so keep your own invoice copy.
Tabnine has not published a list of accepted card networks or whether prepaid, debit or virtual cards are supported at checkout. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets any requirement before you buy, and confirm acceptance with Tabnine on the quote.

Troubleshooting a declined card

If your payment does not go through, work through the most common causes. Note that Tabnine has not published its own list of checkout error messages, so the wording you see may come from the payment processor rather than Tabnine.

Insufficient balance

Confirm your Coinepay card has enough to cover the plan in US dollars plus any tax. Top up in the dashboard or app and retry. Remember annual plans charge the full year at once.

Billing address mismatch

An "address verification failed" style decline usually means the billing address entered does not match the one on file for your card. Re-enter the exact address and postcode associated with your Coinepay account.

3-D Secure not completed

If an authentication prompt times out or is missed, the charge fails. Make sure notifications are enabled in the Coinepay app and approve the request promptly, then try again.

Merchant or region checks

A processor may block a transaction based on its own risk rules or card-type checks. Tabnine's 2024 terms bar use where local law bars the user but do not publish a country list. Use your real location and do not attempt to bypass any regional restriction. Separately, Visa and Mastercard have stated that Russia-issued cards no longer work on their networks outside Russia, which is a card-network limitation rather than a Tabnine policy.

Card details entered incorrectly

Double-check the number, expiry and CVV from your Coinepay card. If the problem persists, contact Coinepay support to confirm the card is active and not restricted, and ask Tabnine whether the charge reached its system.

Refunds and cancellation

Tabnine's published terms dated 25 July 2024 state that notice within the first 30 days of receiving service qualifies for a full subscription refund; after that, the terms state there is no refund, including no partial-month refund for monthly users and no refund of a yearly subscription. The same terms instruct users who want to stop service to write to [email protected], and say a refund for malfunctioning or misdescribed services is at Tabnine's discretion. Because terms may have been replaced after the acquisition, confirm the current refund and cancellation procedure directly with Tabnine before you rely on it.

FAQ

Can I pay for Tabnine with a Coinepay virtual card?

You can try. Tabnine has not published which card networks or card types it accepts at checkout, and its purchase flow now runs largely through a "Get a quote" request. Confirm card acceptance with Tabnine, and contact Coinepay support to check your card meets any requirement before you buy.

How much does Tabnine cost?

Prices vary by plan and region and may change. The last indexed listings showed Tabnine Code Assistant at $39 per user/month and the Agentic Platform at $59 per user/month on annual subscriptions, but those pages now redirect, so confirm the live price on Tabnine's official pricing page.

Why was my card declined at Tabnine checkout?

Common causes are insufficient balance, a billing address that doesn't match your card, an unfinished 3-D Secure prompt, or processor region and card-type checks. Fix the detail that applies, approve any authentication in the Coinepay app, and retry.

Does Tabnine charge in US dollars?

Tabnine's 2024 terms state fees are quoted and payable in US dollars, excluding applicable taxes. Make sure your Coinepay card has enough to cover a USD charge plus any tax, and confirm the exact amount with Tabnine before paying.

How do I cancel or get a refund for Tabnine?

Tabnine's published 2024 terms allow a full refund with notice within 30 days of receiving service and direct cancellation requests to [email protected]. These terms may have changed after the Tricentis acquisition, so confirm the current procedure with Tabnine directly.
