To pay for Sublime Text with a Coinepay virtual card, start by choosing the right license. A personal license is a one-time purchase; a business license is an annual per-seat subscription. This guide covers what to prepare, how to use Sublime HQ’s card checkout, and what to check if payment does not go through.
Choose the right Sublime Text license
On the official Sublime HQ store page for Sublime Text, choose “This license is for me” for a personal purchase or “This license is for a business” for business seats. The distinction matters: buying a personal license does not start a recurring personal subscription.
- Personal license: At the time of writing (October 2026), it costs US$99 once and includes three years of updates. When that update period ends, you can continue using the last version covered by your license without renewing.
- Business license: This is an annual subscription priced per seat. At the time of writing (October 2026), the published rates are US$65 per seat per year for seats 1–10, US$60 for seats 11–25, US$55 for seats 26–50, and US$50 for each additional seat. Each rate applies to seats within its stated band.
Check the official Sublime HQ store page for current pricing and the total shown at checkout before paying. If you already own a personal license and want a new update period, use Sublime HQ’s upgrade page rather than buying without checking your options. At the time of writing (October 2026), the published Sublime Text personal upgrade price is US$80. An upgrade replaces the previous key and begins a new three-year update period; upgrading early does not credit unused time.
What you need before checkout
- A Coinepay account with identity verification completed. Register through Coinepay if you have not already done so. KYC is required before using Coinepay card services.
- Your virtual card details. Coinepay issues a card number, expiry date, and CVV. Find them in the Coinepay self-service dashboard or mobile app. You can get the app for iOS or Android.
- Enough available funds for the checkout total. Review the amount presented by Sublime HQ, including any applicable taxes, before submitting payment. Check your available balance and any applicable card conditions in Coinepay.
- Accurate purchase details. Use your real identity, a working email address, and your real billing details. For a business purchase, have the business, seat, and invoice information ready.
Sublime HQ offers Pay with Card and Pay with PayPal for personal purchases, and Pay with Card for business purchases. To use your Coinepay virtual card, select the card option. Card acceptance depends on the checkout and its payment checks; a card being available in Coinepay does not establish that a particular transaction will be approved.
How to buy a personal Sublime Text license
- Open the official Sublime HQ store page for Sublime Text and choose “This license is for me.”
- Enter your email address and the name you want to appear on the license key. Check the spelling carefully: the purchase email is also useful if you later need to retrieve your key.
- Select Pay with Card. Review the amount and enter your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date, and CVV where requested.
- Complete the billing fields with your genuine details. If checkout asks you to complete a payment verification step, follow the instructions shown rather than repeatedly submitting the form.
- Confirm the purchase only after checking the order details. Look for the store’s confirmation and keep the purchase email and receipt for your records.
Personal purchases do not require a Sublime HQ store account. If you later need the purchased key, Sublime HQ provides a key-retrieval page where you can enter the email used for the purchase. If payment appears to have gone through but no key arrives, check that email account and its spam folder before attempting another purchase.
How to pay for business seats
- On the official Sublime HQ store page, choose “This license is for a business.”
- Enter the requested business and invoice details, select the number of seats, and review the annual total. The published pricing uses seat bands, so check the displayed total rather than multiplying every seat by the first-band rate.
- Choose Pay with Card and enter your Coinepay virtual card details and real billing information.
- Complete any verification requested at checkout, submit the order, and retain the confirmation and invoice for your business records.
Business seats can subsequently be reassigned or changed. Sublime HQ has a business-account login for managing business purchases; use its store login and the options shown in your account for subsequent administration. If you cannot locate an invoice, payment setting, or subscription action there, ask Sublime HQ’s sales team for the applicable steps rather than assuming a personal-license workflow applies.
What to check if your card is declined
A declined payment does not identify its cause by itself. Note the exact message displayed, check whether an order or charge was recorded, and work through the relevant checks below. Avoid submitting the same order repeatedly while its status is unclear.
Insufficient available balance
Compare your Coinepay available balance with the final checkout total, not just the advertised license price. Taxes or other amounts shown during checkout may affect what you need available. If the balance is too low, add funds using the options available to you in Coinepay, then retry only after the balance updates. Check the app or contact Coinepay support if you need help understanding an applicable card condition.
Billing details do not match
Recheck the card number, expiry date, CVV, and billing fields for typing errors. Enter your real name and billing address consistently with the details associated with your payment method. Do not substitute an invented address or another person’s identity to try to make a payment pass.
Payment authentication does not complete
If checkout presents a 3-D Secure or other authentication step, finish it as instructed and return to the checkout result. If the challenge fails, times out, or never appears, check your Coinepay app and ask Coinepay support to review the attempted payment. A historical Sublime Text forum report discussed 3-D Secure-related declines; it should not be treated as a current rule about every personal or business checkout.
Merchant region or payment checks
A merchant or payment provider may apply eligibility and security checks. If checkout says your card or location is not eligible, do not change your address, identity, or apparent location to get around the restriction. Check that your genuine billing information is correct, then ask Sublime HQ about the checkout message and Coinepay support whether your card can be used for the attempted payment. Acceptance for a particular purchase cannot be assumed in advance.
Checkout error, but payment status is unclear
A page error is not necessarily a card decline. For example, “Internal Server Error” appeared in a historical report about a Sublime HQ purchase incident; it is not a verified current error message. If an error appears after you submit payment, first check for a confirmation email and review the transaction status in Coinepay. If you see a charge but no completed order, contact Sublime HQ’s sales team with the time of the attempt and the email used at checkout. Do not email anyone your full card number or CVV.
After purchase: renewals and refunds
A personal Sublime Text license has no recurring payment to cancel. Its included update period ends after three years, but the last eligible version remains usable. A business license remains valid while its annual subscription is active and expires when that subscription is cancelled. For questions about changing seats or ending a business subscription, sign in through Sublime HQ’s business-account login or contact its sales team for the steps that apply to your account.
Sublime HQ’s sales FAQ says refunds are available within 30 days of purchase and directs requests to [email protected]. Contact Sublime HQ about a refund or order issue, and include enough purchase information for it to locate the order without sharing sensitive card credentials. For questions about your Coinepay card or a recorded card transaction, contact Coinepay support.

What if I was charged but did not receive a Sublime Text key?
