Placeit is a design and creative tool for making logos, mockups, videos and social-media graphics from browser templates. If you want to pay for its paid plan with a Coinepay virtual card, this guide walks through what you need, how the Placeit checkout works, and how to troubleshoot a declined payment. Placeit charges in USD, so a non-USD funding source may incur provider conversion fees.

What you need before you start

  • A Coinepay account with identity verification (KYC) completed. You can register here and manage everything from the iOS app or Google Play app.
  • A Coinepay virtual card with its card number, expiry date and CVV, available instantly in your dashboard.
  • Enough available balance on the card to cover the USD charge plus any applicable taxes and conversion fees.
  • Your real billing details (name, address, country) that match your Coinepay account records.
  • A Placeit account. You can sign up with email or, where offered, an Envato Account social option — though Placeit notes this may not appear on every site.

Placeit lists Visa, Mastercard and American Express (USD only), as well as PayPal. Whether a specific merchant accepts a particular card can depend on card type and issuing region. If you are unsure your Coinepay card meets a requirement, contact Coinepay support to confirm before you buy.

Placeit plans and pricing

Placeit's paid offer is called the Unlimited Subscription. At checkout you choose Monthly or Annual billing rather than separately named feature tiers. There is also a Single Purchase option if you only need one image or video, which you pay for after selecting, customizing and downloading the asset.

At the time of writing (October 2026), Placeit's accessible failover site displayed US$89.69 billed yearly, described as a US$7.47/month equivalent (not a monthly charge). The monthly checkout price was not confirmed during this check, and prices and taxes vary by region. Always check the current figure on Placeit's official pricing page before you subscribe. Placeit says it does not currently offer a free trial, although free templates are available.

Create and fund your Coinepay virtual card

  1. Sign in to the Coinepay dashboard or mobile app and complete KYC if you have not already.
  2. Create a virtual card and note its number, expiry date and CVV.
  3. Load enough funds to cover the Placeit charge in USD plus a margin for taxes and any conversion fee. Insufficient balance is a leading cause of declines.

Services related to virtual assets are not available to residents of mainland China, and some services are not available in every jurisdiction. Card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions.

Step-by-step: subscribe to Placeit

  1. Go to the official Placeit website and sign in or create your account.
  2. Open Pricing and click Start now.
  3. Choose Monthly or Annual billing.
  4. Select card as your payment method and enter your Coinepay card number, expiry date and CVV.
  5. Enter billing details that match your Coinepay account exactly.
  6. Review the total, taxes and the terms presented on the page, then click Subscribe.
  7. If prompted for 3-D Secure, approve the transaction in your Coinepay app.
  8. Placeit sends a confirmation email once the payment succeeds.

For a Single Purchase instead of a subscription, select, customize and download the asset you want; checkout for that individual item appears at the download step.

Troubleshooting a declined card

Placeit's help describes a general payment "error" or a payment the card issuer "won't accept", and cites mismatched account or billing details, bank restrictions and blocks on overseas transactions as possible causes. Placeit does not publish an exhaustive error-code list. Work through these common causes:

Insufficient balance

Confirm your Coinepay card holds enough to cover the USD price plus taxes and any conversion fee. Top up and retry.

Billing address mismatch

Placeit flags mismatched account or billing details as a cause. Make sure the name, country and address on Placeit match what Coinepay has on file. Use your real details — never a fake or borrowed address.

3-D Secure not completed

If a verification step appears and is not approved, the charge fails. Keep your Coinepay app open and ready to confirm, then try again.

Overseas-transaction or bank restrictions

Because Placeit bills in USD, some transactions are treated as international. If the payment is blocked, check your card controls in the Coinepay app and contact support.

Merchant region checks

Placeit says a purchase cannot be completed if its providers identify the payment as originating from a restricted region; a definitive Placeit-specific country list is not published. Use your genuine location and account details — do not attempt to disguise your region, which would breach Placeit's terms.

If card payment keeps failing, PayPal is Placeit's other listed option; note PayPal Balance requires sufficient USD funds and a backup card for the billing agreement.

Manage billing, renewals and cancellation

You can review and update everything from your Placeit account:

  • Update card details: My Account → Payment information → Change.
  • See the next charge date: My Account → Current subscription plan details → Next Payment.
  • Download receipts: My Account → Invoices → Download PDF.
  • Cancel: My Account → Account Information → Cancel my subscription, select a reason and confirm.

An uncancelled annual plan renews automatically, so cancel before renewal if you do not want to continue. After cancellation, access continues to the end of the current billing cycle, and cancellation alone does not trigger a refund.

Placeit assesses refund requests individually. Change of mind, mistaken purchase or early cancellation may not qualify, while an item that is broken or not as described is generally a valid reason. Placeit says no full or partial annual-plan refund is available once the subscription has been used to download items.

Note a documentation inconsistency: a 2026 help update says there is no minimum commitment, while the accessible pricing page still mentions one month after a download. Which wording governs your checkout is not confirmed — read the terms shown on the page before you pay.

Tips for businesses and teams

If your studio runs several projects or ad accounts, Coinepay lets businesses issue a dedicated virtual card per purpose with custom spending limits, which makes it easier to separate a Placeit subscription from other software and advertising spend and keep clean records. Everything is managed from the 24/7 self-service dashboard and mobile app.

FAQ

Does Placeit accept virtual cards?

Placeit lists Visa, Mastercard and American Express (USD only) plus PayPal. Whether a specific card is accepted can depend on card type and issuing region, so confirm with Coinepay support before buying.

Does Placeit offer a free trial?

Placeit says it does not currently offer a free trial, though free templates are available. The paid Unlimited Subscription is billed Monthly or Annually, and a Single Purchase option exists for individual assets.

Why was my card declined at Placeit checkout?

Common causes include insufficient balance, billing details that don't match your card account, an uncompleted 3-D Secure step, bank blocks on overseas transactions, or a region Placeit's providers restrict. Check each and retry.

In what currency does Placeit charge?

Placeit's payment help says transactions are in USD. A non-USD funding source may incur provider conversion fees, so load enough to cover the price, taxes and any conversion cost.

How do I cancel my Placeit subscription?

Go to My Account → Account Information → Cancel my subscription, choose a reason and confirm. Access continues to the end of the current billing cycle, and cancellation alone does not trigger a refund.
