To pay for a NOW TV subscription with a Coinepay virtual card, first choose the NOW service for your country, check its card rules, and then enter your card details at checkout. NOW in the UK, Republic of Ireland and Italy has different memberships and payment restrictions. This guide covers those services, not Xfinity’s separate NOW TV offer in the US.
What you need before subscribing
- An eligible NOW account and location. Use the NOW service for the country where you are eligible to purchase a membership. UK memberships must be bought in the UK; Irish memberships must be bought in the Republic of Ireland. Do not use a different address or location to get around regional rules.
- A Coinepay account with identity verification completed. Register with your real details and complete KYC before using card services. Coinepay makes the virtual card number, expiry date and CVV available after issuance. You can manage your card in its self-service dashboard or mobile app.
- Your real billing details and sufficient available funds. Check the membership price, any selected add-ons and the amount available to pay. A small temporary card check may also appear. For card-specific questions, check the Coinepay app or contact Coinepay support.
- A card that meets the local NOW rules. NOW lists Mastercard, Visa and PayPal for direct UK and Irish membership payments; the UK also lists American Express. Italy lists Mastercard, Visa and PayPal. Some prepaid Visa or Mastercard cards are not accepted in the UK or Ireland. Italy does not accept virtual credit cards, and some prepaid Visa or Mastercard cards cannot be saved. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the applicable requirements before you buy. Do not assume a card will be accepted simply because it has a number, expiry date and CVV.
These steps concern a membership billed directly by NOW. If you subscribe through another company, that billing partner controls how you add or change your payment method. In the UK, NOW Broadband has different card rules from a NOW TV membership.
Choose the right NOW membership
On the UK NOW site, content options include Entertainment Membership, Entertainment & HBO Max Membership and Cinema Membership. Sports options include All Sky Sports, Football, Multi-Sport and the 24-hour Sports Day. Check whether a monthly offer is flexible or has a six- or 12-month minimum term. Boost and Ultra Boost are optional viewing upgrades, not content memberships.
In the Republic of Ireland, the core choices are Entertainment Membership, Entertainment & HBO Max Membership, Cinema Membership, Sports Membership and Sports Extra Membership. The sports memberships have Day and Month options. Offers may have minimum terms; review the one displayed for your selection. Boost and Ultra Boost are optional upgrades here too.
In Italy, look for Pass Entertainment, Pass Cinema and Pass Sport, either separately or in displayed combinations. Premium is an optional viewing upgrade. An advertised 12-month pass offer is a different commitment from a monthly option; check the current offer’s eligibility, renewal terms and total payment obligation before continuing.
Prices and promotions vary by country and can change. Check your country’s official NOW pricing and checkout pages for the current amount, any introductory period, the renewal price and the terms of each selected membership or add-on.
How to sign up and pay with your Coinepay card
- Prepare the card. If you have not already done so, register for Coinepay, complete identity verification and obtain your virtual card. In the Coinepay dashboard or app, find its number, expiry date and CVV. Check the available funds against the amount NOW will charge.
- Open the correct local NOW site. Choose the UK, Republic of Ireland or Italy service that applies to you. Read the membership details and any location or eligibility conditions before starting checkout.
- Select your content. Pick the membership, sports option or Italian Pass you want. Review the billing interval and any minimum term. Add Boost, Ultra Boost or Premium only if you want the extra viewing features; check whether the upgrade has its own recurring charge.
- Create or sign in to your NOW account. For UK and Irish direct subscriptions, NOW’s joining flow takes you from membership selection through account creation and payment details. On the Italian service, select the offer and follow the checkout instructions shown; the exact pre-purchase screens can vary.
- Enter your card and genuine billing details. If the checkout offers a card-payment option compatible with your card, copy the number, expiry date and CVV from Coinepay. Enter your real name and billing address accurately. Check for typing mistakes before submitting.
- Review and confirm. Read the final NOW order summary, including the amount due now, renewal schedule, minimum term and any added upgrade. Complete any security verification requested during payment. Once NOW confirms the purchase, keep its confirmation and check the membership in your account.
A UK or Irish monthly membership begins immediately and renews automatically unless cancelled under its terms. Keep enough funds available for later payments and watch for renewal notices; a successful first payment does not ensure every future attempt will go through.
If NOW declines the card
Work through the likely cause before trying again. Repeatedly submitting unchanged details is unlikely to resolve a mismatch or a card-rule restriction.
- Insufficient balance or a temporary check: NOW’s UK help associates “Payment not authorised” with insufficient funds even for a temporary check of up to £1. Ireland describes a pending authorisation of up to €1 at signup or trial start as a temporary check, not another subscription payment. Italy similarly documents a check of up to €1 alongside “Pagamento non autorizzato.” Check the available funds and the actual subscription amount in addition to any pending check.
- Billing address, CVV or expiry mismatch: UK and Italian NOW guidance identifies an address mismatch, incorrect security code or expired card as possible reasons for those errors. Compare what you entered with your real billing information and the card details shown in Coinepay. If you need to correct saved details on a UK or Irish directly billed account, go to My Account → Membership & Payment. In Italy, the confirmed place to change a saved card or billing address is My Account.
- Security verification or 3-D Secure: If checkout requests an authentication step or one-time code, follow the legitimate instructions displayed and do not share a code with anyone. Italy’s NOW guidance specifically advises checking required security or OTP codes and online-purchase restrictions. If verification never arrives or fails, check your Coinepay app and contact support rather than attempting to bypass it.
- Merchant card or region checks: The UK and Irish services may reject some prepaid Visa or Mastercard cards. Italy does not accept virtual credit cards and may be unable to save some prepaid cards. NOW may also enforce its local purchase requirements. Verify that you are using the correct country’s service and genuine billing information, then ask Coinepay support whether your card meets the relevant requirement. If it does not, use a payment method NOW permits rather than changing your identity or location details.
If an existing UK membership renewal fails, NOW says it sends an email. Check that notice and your account’s payment details. For an unresolved decline, note the exact error and whether it happened at signup or renewal when contacting NOW or Coinepay support. Never send your full card number or CVV in a support message.
Manage payments or cancel later
For a UK or Irish membership billed directly by NOW, sign in and open My Account → Membership & Payment to review payment details and billing history. To stop a membership, choose Cancel membership there and finish the on-screen steps. Cancel each membership separately. Flexible membership access normally continues until the next payment date; if you cancel during a minimum term, cancellation takes effect at the term’s end and the remaining instalments continue.
In Italy, use My Account to change the saved payment method or billing address. To cancel, go to My Account → Disdici for each Pass or Premium upgrade. Access continues to the end of the current viewing period; cancellation of a pass during an advertised 12-month term takes effect at the end of that term.
Check NOW’s country-specific cancellation and refund terms before buying. In the UK and Ireland, a change of mind or a forgotten trial cancellation does not normally lead to a refund, though NOW may consider a refund or credit in some unwatched-membership cases. UK terms also set out a conditional 14-day cooling-off right that can be lost if you agree to that at purchase or activation. If another company bills you, ask that partner about payment changes and refunds.

FAQ
Does NOW accept every Coinepay virtual card?
No acceptance can be assumed. NOW’s rules vary by country: some prepaid cards are not accepted in the UK or Ireland, and Italy does not accept virtual credit cards. Ask Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets the applicable requirements before buying.
Why is there a small pending charge when I join NOW?
It may be a temporary card check. NOW describes checks of up to £1 in the UK and up to €1 in Ireland or Italy; Ireland says its pending authorisation is not an additional subscription payment.
Where can I change my card for a NOW renewal?
For a directly billed UK or Irish membership, use My Account → Membership & Payment. In Italy, change the saved payment method in My Account. If a partner bills you, manage payment with that partner.
Can I cancel one NOW membership without cancelling the others?
Yes. Cancel each UK or Irish membership separately through My Account → Membership & Payment → Cancel membership. In Italy, use My Account → Disdici for each Pass or Premium upgrade. Check any minimum-term obligation first.
