You can use a virtual card at Dynadot checkout to pay for a domain or an eligible add-on, subject to Dynadot’s payment options and the checks applied to your order. This guide covers getting your Coinepay card ready, placing a domain order, choosing a renewal payment method, and responding if the charge is declined.
What you need before checkout
- A Coinepay account and virtual card. Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using card services. You can manage your card in the Coinepay app or 24/7 self-service dashboard. The virtual card provides a card number, expiry date, and CVV.
- Enough available funds. Check your available balance against Dynadot’s final checkout total, including any add-ons you select. If you need to fund your card, follow the options shown in your Coinepay account; check the app or contact Coinepay support if you need help.
- Accurate account and billing details. Use your real identity and a billing address that accurately corresponds to your payment details. Have access to the email address you will use for Dynadot.
- A domain choice. Search for the name you want and review the extension, registration term, and optional upgrades before paying. Domain registration and renewal can have different prices.
Dynadot also sells Website Builder, Email, Logo Builder, and Domain Security upgrades. At the time of writing (October 2026), its pages displayed Website Builder Pro and Email Pro at US$30/year each, Logo Builder Pro at US$5/year, and Domain Security Pro at US$100/year. These are separate choices, not requirements for registering a domain. Check Dynadot’s official product and pricing pages for current prices and what each option includes.
Check the currency and payment options first
Dynadot lists several card networks and accepts debit, gift, and non-US-issued cards, but its available payment methods vary by payment currency. For EUR, GBP, CAD, INR, and AUD, Dynadot lists Visa or Mastercard cards only. Its payment-options page lists other methods rather than cards for some currencies: CNY uses Alipay or UnionPay; IDR uses cash, e-wallet, or bank transfer; and PHP, THB, and KRW list GCash, TrueMoney, and KakaoPay respectively. Do not assume a card will be available simply because you see a card option for a different currency.
Check your card details in Coinepay and the payment methods Dynadot presents for your selected currency. If Dynadot requires a particular card network for that currency, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the requirement before you buy. Use a currency and billing details that genuinely apply to you; changing settings is not a way to bypass a merchant’s regional checks.
You can review Dynadot’s currency setting at My Info → Account Settings → Account Options → Select Your Currency. Prices displayed in another currency may differ. At the time of writing (October 2026), Dynadot’s USD domain table showed a one-year .com registration and renewal at US$10.88 each, while .org was US$7.99 to register and US$11.64 to renew. Promotions, premium names, and extension-specific pricing can change the total. Check Dynadot’s official pricing page and your cart before confirming.
How to create a Dynadot account and pay
- Find your domain. On Dynadot, search for the name and extension you want. If it is available, add it to your cart.
- Review the cart. Check the domain spelling, registration term, price, and any optional Pro upgrades. Remove anything you do not intend to buy, then select Checkout.
- Create or sign in to your account. Dynadot offers Create Account, account creation during an order, and Google or Apple sign-in. If you create the account during an order, provide the requested billing address and phone details. Dynadot requires email verification, although it may let you proceed with the first order using Skip for now; complete verification when prompted.
- Choose the card option if it is offered. Enter the Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date, and CVV exactly as shown in your Coinepay account. Enter your real billing information and check the final amount and currency. If your selected currency does not offer a suitable card option, do not try to force a card payment.
- Complete any payment checks. If an authentication prompt appears, follow the instructions presented by the payment flow. Keep the checkout open until you see the order result; do not assume a submitted payment means the domain is registered.
- Confirm the outcome. Dynadot emails an Order Finished notice after processing. You can review payment activity under Payments → Payment Log. If the order remains open or needs action, check its status before starting another purchase.
Card issuance and fund services are provided by Coinepay’s licensed partner financial institutions. A card issued and ready to use in Coinepay is not, by itself, confirmation that Dynadot will approve a particular transaction.
Save a card and manage domain renewals
To store a payment card in Dynadot, go to Payments → Credit/Debit Card. Saving a card there does not turn on automatic charges. For domain renewals, check Payments → Domain Auto-Renew and select the payment method you intend to use. Dynadot lists account credit, a card, or a linked PayPal account as choices; account credit is the default. Make sure your choice is set before relying on a card for an upcoming renewal.
To stop a domain renewing automatically, go to My Domains → Manage Domains → Action → Renew Options and choose manual renewal. Dynadot also offers a do not renew setting, which stops expiration reminders. Marketplace automatic payments have their own setting at Payments → Marketplace Default Payment; changing the domain-renewal method does not necessarily change that separate preference.
Dynadot calls its account levels Regular, Bulk, and Superbulk. They are spending-benefit levels, not three subscription plans you need to choose at checkout. Focus on the price and renewal settings for the specific products in your order.
Troubleshoot a declined card or unfinished order
Start in Dynadot’s order details rather than repeatedly placing the same order. Dynadot documents Waiting for Payment, Action Needed, and Problem Status as possible order statuses. An order can also be delayed by required email verification, processor confirmation, or manual review; not every unfinished order is a card decline.
- Insufficient funds or an unexpected total: Compare the available balance shown in Coinepay with Dynadot’s final total and currency. Check for an added upgrade or a renewal price that differs from the registration price. If account credit is selected for auto-renewal, insufficient account credit can cause that renewal to fail.
- Card or billing details do not match: Recheck the number, expiry date, CVV, and billing details for errors. Use accurate information; an address mismatch is a possible issue to investigate, not a confirmed explanation for every decline.
- Authentication did not complete: If a 3-D Secure or other card-verification prompt appears, complete it through the presented flow. If the prompt fails, closes, or never arrives, check your card’s available support options in Coinepay and ask support for help. Do not attempt to work around authentication.
- Currency or merchant-region checks: Review Dynadot’s payment options for the checkout currency, including any card-network restriction. If a card is not offered or you are unsure whether yours qualifies, ask Coinepay support before retrying. Do not use inaccurate billing details or a different region to evade a restriction.
Dynadot’s Credit Card Problem email indicates a card-payment issue and permits up to three charge attempts per order. To retry, change the card or payment method, or cancel the open order, go to My Domains → Open Orders → Edit Payment. Check the order status and any email instructions first so you do not use an attempt unnecessarily. If the issuer denied the charge, Coinepay support may be able to help you investigate; Dynadot can help with its order status or checkout requirements.
If you need to cancel or request a refund
Review Dynadot’s current refund policy before purchasing an upgrade or changing a domain’s renewal setting. Its help page says refund requests generally need to be made within 30 days after cancellation and normally return as Dynadot account credit unless you request otherwise. It describes a possible grace-deletion option for an eligible new domain less than five days old, subject to extension rules and a deletion fee; backordered domains are excluded.
Do not count on a refund for a completed domain renewal. Dynadot’s refund help page describes a narrow renewal-request scenario, but its October 2026 Terms of Use says domain renewals are final and non-refundable. Confirm the current position directly with Dynadot before making a decision based on a potential refund. For card-account questions, use Coinepay support.

FAQ
Does saving my Coinepay card at Dynadot enable automatic renewal?
No. Saving a card under Payments → Credit/Debit Card does not enable automatic charges. Check Payments → Domain Auto-Renew and choose your intended renewal payment method.
Why does Dynadot show Waiting for Payment after I entered my card?
The order may still need payment confirmation, email verification, or review. Check the order status and Dynadot emails before placing another order.
What should I do if Dynadot sends a Credit Card Problem email?
Check your balance and card details, then use My Domains → Open Orders → Edit Payment to retry or choose another available method. Dynadot allows up to three charge attempts per order.
Can I use the card in any currency shown by Dynadot?
Not necessarily. Dynadot’s card options depend on currency; EUR, GBP, CAD, INR, and AUD card payments require Visa or Mastercard. Check the checkout options and ask Coinepay support whether your card meets a stated requirement.
