Docker Desktop is included with Docker account plans rather than sold as a separate Desktop subscription. If you need a paid plan, you can enter your Coinepay virtual card at Docker checkout. This guide covers what to prepare, how to reach checkout for your account type, and what to check if a payment fails. Card acceptance depends on Docker’s checkout and payment checks.
Choose the right Docker plan
Docker’s plans are named Docker Personal, Docker Pro, Docker Team, and Docker Business. Personal is free, Pro is for an individual account, and Team and Business are for organization accounts. Choose the account and plan that fit your intended use before entering payment details; you do not need to buy a separate product called “Docker Desktop.”
At the time of writing (October 2026), Docker listed Personal at $0, Pro at $11 per month or $9 per user per month billed annually, Team at $16 per user per month or $15 per user per month billed annually, and Business at $24 per user per month on the annual plan. These are published US-dollar prices, not a promise of your final checkout total. Taxes may apply. Check Docker’s official pricing page and the amount shown at checkout before confirming your purchase.
What you need before checkout
- A verified Docker account. Docker lets you create a free account with email, Google, or GitHub and requires account verification before sign-in. For Team or Business, make sure you can access the organization account you intend to bill.
- An eligible Coinepay account. Register and complete identity verification before using card services. Coinepay issues a virtual card number, expiry date, and CVV, which you can find in the Coinepay app or 24/7 self-service dashboard. You can register with Coinepay if you have not yet done so.
- Enough available funds. Check your balance against the full amount Docker shows at checkout, including any applicable tax. Allow for the billing period you select rather than relying on the headline monthly-equivalent price of an annual plan.
- Your real billing details. Use the genuine name, address, and other details requested at checkout. Check the billing details associated with your card in Coinepay, and correct any genuine discrepancy before trying again.
Docker lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, Diners, and UnionPay among its card payment options. That list does not establish whether a particular virtual card will pass checkout. If you need to confirm whether your card is suitable for a Docker purchase, contact Coinepay support before buying.
How to sign up and pay for Docker Pro
- Go to Docker’s official site and create an account using email, Google, or GitHub, or sign in to your existing account. Complete Docker’s account verification if prompted.
- On Docker’s official pricing page, compare Personal and Pro. If Pro meets your needs, select Buy now for Docker Pro.
- Review the billing interval and checkout summary. Confirm whether you are selecting monthly billing or an annual commitment, and check the displayed total and any taxes.
- Open your Coinepay app or dashboard and retrieve your virtual card number, expiry date, and CVV. Enter them in Docker’s card-payment fields, along with your real billing details.
- Review the order before submitting it. If Docker requests 3D Secure verification, follow the verification prompt and wait for checkout to return a clear result. Do not assume the purchase succeeded merely because you submitted the card form.
- After a successful purchase, sign in to Docker Home, select your personal account, and open Billing → Overview to check the plan and payment method. Look under Billing → Invoices when an invoice has been issued.
How to pay for Docker Team or Business
Team and Business are organization plans, so first check that you have selected the correct organization in Docker Home. Its billing information is separate from the billing information shown for your personal account or another organization.
- Sign in to Docker Home and select the organization account you intend to upgrade.
- Open Billing → Browse products → View plans. Compare Docker Team and Docker Business, then choose the plan and billing option appropriate for the organization.
- Review the organization’s billing details, seat selection, amount due, and any taxes shown at checkout. Use accurate business billing information.
- Enter the Coinepay virtual card details in the card-payment flow and complete any verification requested by Docker. Check the final confirmation and the organization’s Billing → Overview afterward.
For a new annual organization subscription, Docker offers a Pay by invoice choice for future renewals, but the first period must be paid by card or a verified US bank account. That invoice option is not available for upgrades or changes to an existing subscription. If you intend to pay the first period by card, confirm the checkout terms before proceeding.
Troubleshoot a declined card or failed checkout
A failed attempt does not, by itself, identify the cause. Docker users have reported messages including “The payment has been declined,” “We couldn’t capture provided card,” and “Unable to save billing info at this time.” Use the checks below rather than treating any one message as proof of a specific problem.
Insufficient available balance
Compare your available card funds with Docker’s final checkout total, not just the advertised plan price. An annual purchase and applicable taxes can make that total higher than expected. If a subscription renewal fails, also check whether the card can cover the amount due before retrying. Check the Coinepay app for your current balance and contact support if the balance or a charge is unclear.
Billing address or account-details mismatch
Review the name and billing address entered at Docker checkout against your genuine card billing details. In Docker Home, billing information belongs to the account currently selected; for an organization purchase, confirm that you did not accidentally enter details while viewing your personal account or another organization. Docker’s Billing → Settings holds editable billing details. Correct errors using real information, then try again.
3D Secure verification does not finish
Docker may require 3D Secure verification at checkout. If the verification fails or the checkout does not resume, Docker advises retrying in the same browser tab, trying another payment method, or checking with the card provider about a possible block. Do not repeatedly submit the payment while its outcome is unclear. If you cannot complete a requested verification with your Coinepay card, ask Coinepay support for help.
Region or merchant payment checks
A listed card network does not guarantee that a particular payment will be accepted. A transaction may be affected by Docker’s checkout checks, the billing information entered, applicable regional rules, or card-provider controls. Use your real location and details; do not attempt to work around a regional restriction. Docker’s terms also restrict use by specified denied parties and use or export involving US-embargoed countries. If your checkout is declined and the reason is not clear, ask Docker about its checkout requirements and Coinepay support about your card’s transaction status.
If a renewal payment fails, Docker says it sends an email titled “Action Required - Credit Card Payment Failed” and retries collection during a 15-day grace period. An unpaid subscription is downgraded to free after that period. Check the email and your selected account’s Billing area promptly rather than waiting for access to change.
Manage your card and subscription afterward
In Docker Home, select the relevant personal or organization account before opening Billing. Use Overview to see plans and the payment method, Invoices for issued invoices, and Settings for editable billing details. To replace a card, go to Billing → Payment method → Change. Docker says you cannot remove a default payment method until another becomes the default or the subscription is downgraded to free.
For a self-service plan, the cancellation path is Docker Home → Billing → Active plans → plan action menu → Cancel plan. Cancel before renewal if you do not want another billing period. Paid features remain available through the current billing cycle, but Docker says the unused portion is not refundable. Sales-assisted Docker Business customers must contact their account manager to cancel; review the applicable subscription agreement for its payment and refund terms.
