Looking to pay for JioCinema? The service now operates as JioHotstar, following the combination of JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar in 2025. This guide explains how to choose a subscription, try a Coinepay virtual card at checkout, and respond if the payment fails. Available plans and payment options depend on your location and the checkout you use; having a card does not guarantee that a particular checkout will accept it.

What you need before subscribing

  • A JioHotstar account: Use the service available in your actual location and be ready to complete its sign-in verification, which may include a phone-number one-time password.
  • A suitable plan: Check the plan, billing period, device allowance and any add-on before paying. Some JioHotstar content is available without a paid subscription.
  • A Coinepay account and card: Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using card services. Coinepay provides a virtual card number, expiry date and CVV, which you can find in its app or self-service dashboard.
  • Funds and accurate details: Check your available funds and enter your real billing information. Allow for the full amount shown at checkout rather than relying on a plan price you saw elsewhere.

Coinepay card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions. Check the Coinepay app for information relevant to your card. JioHotstar’s India terms list debit cards, credit cards, internet banking, e-prepaid wallets and other methods offered at checkout, but the methods displayed for your purchase determine what you can try.

Choose the right JioHotstar plan

In India, the paid tiers are Mobile, Super and Premium. The following prices are from JioStar’s schedule for new subscribers effective January 28, 2026. They were checked at the time of writing (October 2026); check JioHotstar’s official plan page and your checkout for the current amount and terms.

India planMonthlyQuarterlyAnnualWhat to check
Mobile₹79₹149₹499One mobile device at a time; Hollywood requires a separate add-on.
Super₹149₹349₹1,099Two devices; Hollywood included.
Premium₹299₹699₹2,199Four devices; Hollywood included. Ad-free entertainment excludes live sports and other live shows.

The India Hollywood add-on for Mobile was ₹49 monthly, ₹129 quarterly or ₹399 annually at the time of writing (October 2026). Select it only if you want that content, and review the combined checkout total. Existing subscribers may see different terms: JioStar said subscribers retained their then-current price and benefits while auto-renewal remained active. Check your account rather than assuming a new-subscriber price applies to a renewal.

Outside India, do not use the India plan table as a price or availability guide. JioHotstar has announced subscriptions in the UK, Canada and Singapore; existing Hotstar subscribers there can sign in with their existing credentials and transition to an equivalent plan. Android users in those markets can subscribe through the updated app. In MENA, JioHotstar is offered within STARZPLAY rather than through the standalone India checkout. Use the service’s offering for your actual location and review its displayed terms and payment options.

How to try paying with a Coinepay virtual card

  1. Set up your Coinepay card. After registering and completing identity verification, open the Coinepay app or dashboard to access your virtual card number, expiry date and CVV. Check that you have enough available funds for the total you intend to authorize.
  2. Open the appropriate JioHotstar service. In India, start from JioHotstar’s official app or site. Sign in or register using your real account details and complete any requested verification. If you already have an account, inspect its current subscription before buying another one.
  3. Select your subscription. Choose Mobile, Super or Premium, then the billing period. If you select Mobile, decide whether to add Hollywood access. Review the amount, renewal information and any offer conditions shown before continuing.
  4. Inspect the payment page. India subscriptions use a third-party payment gateway. If that checkout offers a card-entry option suitable for your transaction, enter your Coinepay card number, expiry and CVV. Provide your real billing details as requested; do not change your address or location to make a payment appear eligible.
  5. Complete any authentication and check the result. Follow the prompts presented by the gateway and your card’s authentication flow, if one appears. Wait for payment confirmation, then check JioHotstar for an active subscription. Do not assume access has started just because you submitted the card form.

If the checkout presents only other payment methods, or states a restriction on the card you intend to use, do not keep retrying with altered details. Contact Coinepay support to ask whether your card meets the stated requirement before you buy. If you are subscribing through an app store or another partner instead, follow that checkout’s payment and subscription instructions; the direct India steps above may not apply.

What to do if your card is declined

A failed payment does not, by itself, identify the cause. JioHotstar’s India terms discuss expired or unavailable payment methods and payment failures, but do not provide a universal list of card-decline messages. Use the notice you actually see, and avoid repeated attempts until you have checked the likely issue.

Insufficient available balance

Compare your card’s available funds with the full amount shown at checkout, including any selected add-on. Check the Coinepay app for the card and funding information that applies to you. If a prior attempt appears pending, review its status before paying again so that you do not accidentally make a second purchase.

Billing details do not match

Recheck the card number, expiry and CVV, as well as the name and billing address requested by the gateway. Correct typographical errors using your genuine details. If the gateway asks for information you cannot accurately provide, stop and ask the checkout provider or Coinepay support what is required.

Authentication or 3-D Secure does not complete

If an authentication prompt appears, finish it promptly and return to the checkout to verify the outcome. A timed-out, closed or unsuccessful authentication step can leave the purchase incomplete. If you cannot complete a prompt, record the wording displayed and contact Coinepay support; do not assume that an authentication step will appear for every transaction.

Merchant or region checks

JioHotstar’s content, subscription offers and payment options vary by location and device. A checkout may also decline a payment under its own eligibility checks. Confirm that you are using the service offered in your real location and read any restriction displayed on the payment page. Neither a virtual card nor a different billing address is a way around regional rules. If the merchant specifies an eligible card type or issuing-country requirement, ask Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets it before trying again.

If you see a charge but no access, first check your JioHotstar subscription status and any gateway confirmation. Keep the transaction date, amount and displayed error available when contacting the relevant support team. Avoid sharing your full card number or CVV in a support message.

Check renewals, invoices and cancellation

For subscriptions billed under JioHotstar’s India terms, open your profile’s My Account section to see subscription status and the renewal date. After gateway confirmation, that section also provides a downloadable invoice. Review the renewal date while you still have time to resolve a card or funding issue.

Under those India terms, you can cancel in My Account to stop subsequent automatic renewals. Paid subscription and add-on fees are generally non-refundable, including unused time after early cancellation, subject to the terms’ stated higher-plan or add-on upgrade exception. The terms also say the payment method cannot be changed during a subscription’s tenure. If you need a different card for an active subscription, check the instructions shown in your account rather than assuming you can replace it immediately. For a subscription billed through an app store, partner or another country’s service, consult the controls and terms for that purchase instead.

JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar combined into JioHotstar in 2025. Look for the JioHotstar service offered in your location.

Acceptance depends on the checkout and its eligibility checks. If it states a card-type or issuing-country restriction, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets it before buying.

Where can I check or cancel an India subscription?

For a subscription billed under JioHotstar’s India terms, open your profile’s My Account section to check status and renewal date or cancel subsequent automatic renewals.
