You can use Gmarket without a paid membership: create a free account, choose an eligible item, and pay at checkout. If you want to try a Coinepay virtual card, check the payment options shown for your particular order before entering its details. Gmarket’s optional 꼭 멤버십 (Kkok Membership) has separate recurring-payment rules, so an ordinary order and a membership sign-up should not be treated as the same transaction.
What you need before paying
- A Coinepay account and virtual card. Register with your real identity and complete identity verification before using Coinepay card services. Once your card is issued, its number, expiry date and CVV are available through Coinepay’s self-service dashboard or mobile app. You can register with Coinepay or get the app for iOS or Android.
- A Gmarket account. Ordinary customer registration is free. Use your accurate contact and delivery information so the seller and carrier can process your order.
- An eligible item and destination. Gmarket Global says it ships to more than 100 countries and areas, but availability depends on the seller, item and carrier. Check the delivery options on the item and at checkout rather than assuming every listing ships internationally.
- Enough available funds for the displayed total. Review the item price, shipping charge and any other amounts shown at checkout. Item and international-shipping charges vary by order and destination.
Gmarket Global lists several overseas-issued credit and debit card brands among its order payment methods, alongside other options. The methods offered can vary by order. That list does not establish whether a particular Coinepay card will be eligible, so rely on the options and any eligibility requirements shown at checkout. If you need to confirm a card requirement before buying, contact Coinepay support.
Step 1: Set up your Coinepay card
- Register for Coinepay and complete the required identity verification using your genuine details.
- In the Coinepay dashboard or app, obtain your virtual card’s number, expiry date and CVV. Keep these details private and enter them only in the payment flow you intend to use.
- Check the card’s available funds against the full amount Gmarket displays before you confirm payment. If you need help with card funding or a card setting, check the app or contact Coinepay support rather than assuming a particular limit or funding method applies.
Use your real billing information wherever Gmarket requests it. Do not substitute an invented address to make a card appear local to a different market; inaccurate details can interfere with payment checks and order handling.
Step 2: Create a Gmarket account and review the order
- Open Gmarket and register or sign in to your account. Standard shopping does not require Kkok Membership.
- Find the item you want. Select its required options, such as the available variant or quantity, and check whether the seller can ship it to your actual destination.
- Select Buy Now for that item, or add items to your cart and choose proceed to checkout.
- At checkout, confirm the item options, delivery address, discounts, shipping method and final total. An item’s price alone may not represent the full amount payable for an international order.
Gmarket’s named Global Shipping service specifically covers Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, East and West Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Australia and New Zealand. That is not a promise that every item can be sent to those destinations, or that destinations outside this named service have the same shipping choices. Follow the delivery availability shown for your order.
Step 3: Enter the card and complete payment
- On the order payment screen, check whether a suitable overseas-card option appears for the selected items. Gmarket Global lists overseas-issued Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay, JCB, American Express and Diners Club/Discover cards as possible order payment methods; availability depends on the order.
- If an eligible card option is offered, enter your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date and CVV exactly as displayed. Enter your genuine billing details if requested.
- Review the final amount and submit the payment. If the checkout presents an additional cardholder-verification step, follow its on-screen instructions. Do not repeatedly resubmit while an authentication request is pending.
- Check Gmarket for an order confirmation and check your card activity before attempting a second payment. If the result is unclear, investigate it first to avoid placing a duplicate order.
Gmarket also publishes a foreign-card verification location under Personal Info. → Order/Payment Setting → Foreign credit card. If Gmarket asks you to verify an overseas card, follow the instructions there and provide only accurate information. Gmarket says foreign-card purchases can be restricted because of unauthorized-use risk; after a payment-method verification submission, its stated review period is 1–2 business days. Verification does not guarantee that a later order will be approved.
Is Kkok Membership paid for the same way?
No. 꼭 멤버십 (Kkok Membership) is Gmarket’s optional paid shopping membership, not a requirement for an ordinary purchase. At the time of writing (October 2026), Gmarket’s published South Korean fee is ₩2,900 per month including VAT, charged on the monthly anniversary of joining. Check Gmarket’s official membership page for the current price and terms before signing up.
To join, sign in and go to Gmarket’s Kkok Membership page. Gmarket says recurring membership payment requires a personal credit or debit card registered with SmilePay; if you have no card on file, you must register one during sign-up. Corporate cards and cards whose holder cannot be verified may be barred from recurring-payment registration. An ordinary-order card option does not establish eligibility for membership dues. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets Gmarket’s personal-card requirement before you buy, and check Gmarket’s membership sign-up screen for its payment requirements.
If Gmarket offers you a free trial, read its recurring-payment choice carefully: Gmarket says billing at the end of a trial applies only if recurring payment was requested. You can review membership records under My Membership. Gmarket identifies My G → bell icon as a place to see renewal notices; its current notice method also includes app push notifications and the Gmarket inbox. Gmarket and Auction require separate Kkok Membership sign-ups for benefits on each site.
Why was my Gmarket card payment declined?
- Insufficient available funds: Compare your card’s available amount with Gmarket’s complete checkout total, including displayed delivery charges. If a previous attempt has left the payment status unclear, check card activity and the Gmarket order record before trying again.
- Billing-details mismatch: Recheck the card number, expiry date, CVV and the genuine name or billing information requested at checkout. Correct a typo; do not change your address to another country simply to pass a check.
- Cardholder authentication: A payment may stop at an additional verification step. Complete any prompt presented by checkout and check whether it expired or was cancelled. If you cannot complete it, contact Coinepay support about the attempted card payment and Gmarket about the checkout result.
- Merchant or regional checks: A foreign-card option may be unavailable for a particular order, or Gmarket may restrict a foreign-card purchase pending verification. Recheck the item, delivery destination and offered methods. Use Gmarket’s published foreign-card verification path if instructed; do not try to bypass a restriction.
- Payment-amount-limit pop-up: Gmarket asks customers who encounter this pop-up to email [email protected] with their Gmarket ID. Describe what happened, but never include your full card number or CVV in an email.
Some shoppers have reported messages such as “unknown error” or “Temporary error, please try later.” Those reports do not identify a confirmed card-decline reason. If you see one, check whether an order was created, note the message and time, and ask Gmarket about the checkout attempt. Coinepay support can help you review the card side of the transaction.
After paying: orders, renewals and refunds
For an ordinary order, check its status in Gmarket before requesting a cancellation. Gmarket generally allows cancellation before seller acceptance or dispatch. Its domestic-return guidance generally allows returns within seven days of receipt, with return shipping charged for non-defective goods; after international dispatch, returns are generally limited to incorrect or defective items. Check the applicable order terms before shipping anything back. Refund status appears under My Gmarket → Shopping List.
Membership cancellation follows different rules. Gmarket says immediate termination is available only if no earned cash has been confirmed during the current membership period. Otherwise, you can cancel recurring payment and the membership ends when that period expires. Review your membership status and current terms before cancelling; stopping an order does not cancel a membership renewal.
