PressReader lets you read newspapers and magazines digitally. If you want to pay for a subscription with a Coinepay virtual card, start by checking PressReader’s current offer for your region, then enter your card details at checkout. This guide covers what to prepare, how to complete a direct purchase and what to check if your payment is declined.

Before you subscribe

Decide how you want to get access. PressReader may offer an individual subscription through its website or app, while some readers get access through a participating library, hotel or other organization. Check your existing access first: if it already covers what you want to read, you may not need to buy a separate subscription. Publication availability and subscription options can vary by location, so review the offer shown to you rather than assuming every title is included.

For a direct card payment, prepare the following:

  • A PressReader account. Use an email address you can access so you can manage your subscription and find purchase communications.
  • A Coinepay account with completed identity verification. You must register and complete KYC before using Coinepay card services.
  • Your virtual card details. Coinepay provides a card number, expiry date and CVV; find them in your Coinepay dashboard or mobile app when you are ready to pay.
  • Enough available funds. Check the amount PressReader displays at checkout, including the billing period and any applicable tax. Leave room for currency conversion or other charges shown in your Coinepay account, if relevant.
  • Your real billing information. Use the name and billing address associated with your payment details. Do not enter a made-up address to try to pass a region or billing check.

If you have not set up Coinepay, register for Coinepay and complete the required verification before starting checkout. Card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions. Some services are not available in every jurisdiction.

How to pay for PressReader with your Coinepay card

The steps below describe a direct purchase through PressReader. Labels and available options may change, so follow the instructions displayed on PressReader’s current checkout page.

  1. Open PressReader’s official website. Look for its subscription or pricing information. Review what the offer includes, which publications are available to you, the price, the billing frequency and any trial or renewal terms displayed. Prices vary by region; use PressReader’s official pricing page for the amount that applies to you.
  2. Create an account or sign in. Use your real details. If you already have a PressReader account, sign in to that account so you do not accidentally purchase access under a second email address.
  3. Choose the offer you want. Check whether the purchase will renew automatically and when your first charge is due. If a trial is offered, read the terms before confirming; a trial can still require payment details and may convert to a paid subscription.
  4. Open your Coinepay dashboard or mobile app. Check your available funds and retrieve your virtual card number, expiry date and CVV. Keep these details private and enter them only on the checkout page you intended to use.
  5. Enter your payment details at PressReader checkout. Select a card-payment option if one is offered. Type the card details as shown in Coinepay, then enter your real billing name and address. Review the order summary before submitting.
  6. Complete any requested verification. Your payment may require an additional authentication step, such as 3-D Secure. If prompted, follow the on-screen instructions and do not close the verification window until it finishes.
  7. Check the result. Wait for PressReader to show a confirmation, then check the subscription status in your PressReader account and retain any receipt or confirmation email. Also check the transaction in Coinepay. If you are unsure whether payment succeeded, verify both accounts before trying again to avoid an unintended duplicate purchase.

If PressReader directs you to pay through Apple’s App Store or Google Play instead of its own checkout, that purchase follows the store’s billing rules and payment settings. Entering your card in PressReader may not be an option in that flow. Review which party will bill you before confirming, since subscription management may also take place in the store where you purchased it.

If your card is declined

A decline does not always identify the cause. Avoid repeated submissions while you investigate, especially if you see a pending transaction. Check the message at checkout, your Coinepay transaction history and your PressReader account before taking the next step.

Insufficient available balance

Compare your available funds with the full amount shown at checkout, not just an advertised base price. Taxes or a charge in a different currency can affect the amount attempted. Check the balance in Coinepay and add funds through the available options in your account if needed. Do not assume a failed attempt was never authorized: if you see a pending charge, contact support before retrying.

Billing address or card details do not match

Re-enter the card number, expiry date and CVV carefully, and check for typing errors or an expired card. Confirm that your billing name and address reflect your real details. A mismatch can cause a payment to fail, but changing to an unrelated address is not a solution. If you need to update your information, use the legitimate account-update process or contact Coinepay support for guidance.

3-D Secure authentication did not finish

If checkout opens an authentication prompt, complete it before returning to PressReader. A timed-out or interrupted prompt may cause the attempt to fail. Try again after checking that your browser allows the verification page to open and that your connection is stable. If you cannot receive or complete the authentication request, contact Coinepay support with the time of the attempt and the error shown. Do not share your CVV, password or one-time code with support.

PressReader’s region or payment checks

PressReader may check whether an offer or payment method is available for your location. Card acceptance is ultimately determined at checkout, and a card that works for another service may not be accepted for this purchase. Confirm you selected an offer available in your actual region and used accurate account and billing details. Do not use a VPN, a false address or someone else’s identity to work around a restriction. If the checkout specifies an eligible card type or issuing country, contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets that requirement before you buy. PressReader support can clarify an offer or merchant-side decline.

Manage or stop future PressReader charges

After subscribing, check your PressReader account for the subscription’s renewal information and management options. Follow the cancellation instructions associated with the place where you bought it: a purchase billed by PressReader may be managed differently from one billed through Apple’s App Store or Google Play. Review the cancellation deadline and keep a record of the confirmation. Removing a card from an account should not be treated as a substitute for cancelling a subscription.

If you need to identify a charge, compare its date and amount with your PressReader receipt and your Coinepay transaction history. For a question about the subscription, access or cancellation, contact PressReader or the app store that billed you. For a question about the Coinepay card transaction, use Coinepay support. Share only the transaction details needed to investigate; never send your full card number or CVV in a message.
