Fathom, the financial reporting product at fathomhq.com, offers a 14-day trial before you need to enter billing information. If you decide to subscribe, you can enter your Coinepay virtual card details at Fathom checkout. Before you start, check one important requirement: Fathom says it accepts debit or credit cards. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets that requirement before you buy. Card acceptance is ultimately determined at checkout.
What you need before subscribing
- A Fathom trial account. You can begin the 14-day trial without billing information. An unsubscribed trial can expire without a charge.
- Account Owner access. Only the Fathom Account Owner can open Account/Billing, where subscriptions and payment details are managed.
- A Coinepay account and virtual card. Register and complete identity verification before using card services. Coinepay provides the card number, expiry date and CVV in its self-service dashboard and mobile app. Check your available funds and card settings there before checkout.
- Accurate billing and tax details. Use your real identity and billing information, and have any tax details Fathom requests ready. Do not use a substitute address to try to satisfy a regional payment check.
Fathom lists Visa, Mastercard and American Express on its pricing page and says subscription payments are made by debit or credit card, not bank transfer or PayPal. Confirm your particular Coinepay card meets Fathom’s requirements with Coinepay support before purchasing; a listed card brand alone does not establish that a particular payment will be accepted.
Choose the Fathom subscription you need
Fathom has two subscription types: Fathom Pro and Portfolio. You can subscribe to either or both. If you select both, they appear as separate line items on one monthly invoice. This is a choice about the financial reporting product, not the similarly named meeting-notes or web-analytics services.
Fathom Pro has Starter, Silver, Gold and Platinum tiers. Its pricing page also offers a custom-quoted Enterprise option for 51 or more companies. Portfolio lists 100, 300 and Unlimited company-count tiers. When subscribing only to Pro, choose None for Portfolio rather than adding a paid Portfolio tier.
At the time of writing (October 2026), Fathom’s US pricing page showed Pro Starter at USD $59 per month for one company and Portfolio 100 at USD $67 per month, excluding sales tax. Prices and the amount presented at checkout can vary by region and selection. Check Fathom’s official pricing page and the cost breakdown in your account before confirming; do not treat a converted US price as a local checkout quote.
How to subscribe and pay with your card
- Create your Fathom account. Start the 14-day trial through Fathom’s official site. Complete its sign-up using your real account details; you do not need billing information to begin the trial.
- Prepare your Coinepay card. If you are new to Coinepay, register and complete identity verification. In the Coinepay dashboard or app, find your virtual card number and expiry date. Check the available funds and any applicable settings or requirements shown in your account.
- Open Fathom’s subscription settings. While signed in as the Account Owner, go to My Companies → gear icon → Account/Billing → Account → Select a plan.
- Select your plans. Choose the appropriate Fathom Pro tier, Portfolio tier, or both. If you want Pro alone, set Portfolio to None. Inspect the displayed cost breakdown, including any tax details, before continuing.
- Enter the payment information. Enter your card information and the real billing and tax details requested by Fathom. Fathom’s documented recurring-subscription checkout does not request a CVV; do not look for a CVV field if none is presented.
- Review and confirm. Check the plan selections and amount, then choose Start Subscription if everything is correct. Return to your Fathom account to verify the subscription and billing information rather than assuming an attempted payment succeeded.
Fathom subscriptions renew monthly. If a payment does not go through, avoid repeatedly submitting the same details without checking the likely cause first. Whether a particular card or transaction is accepted depends on the checks applied to that payment.
What to check if your Fathom card payment is declined
Fathom has not published a specific checkout error message for each possible decline. Treat the checks below as troubleshooting steps, not as a diagnosis of any particular message. If the checkout provides a reason, record its exact wording before contacting support.
Insufficient available funds
In the Coinepay dashboard or app, check the card’s available funds and any spending settings shown there. Compare them with Fathom’s checkout total, including any applicable tax. If you use a card with a spending limit, make sure the intended charge fits within it. For questions about funding or settings in your account, contact Coinepay support; do not assume that the plan’s advertised base price is the entire checkout amount.
Billing information does not match
Review the billing details you entered at Fathom against your genuine cardholder and billing information. Correct typing mistakes, including in the address or postal code, and supply tax information if requested. Use your real details even if a different address appears more likely to pass a regional check.
An authentication step does not complete
If your payment presents a 3-D Secure or other authentication prompt, complete it using the instructions you actually receive. If the prompt expires, fails to load or is declined, check your Coinepay app for any relevant notice and ask Coinepay support to investigate. Do not assume Fathom will present an authentication challenge on every attempt.
Card-type or merchant region checks
Fathom specifies debit or credit cards for payment. If you are unsure whether your Coinepay card meets that requirement, contact Coinepay support before you buy. If a transaction is rejected because of a merchant or regional eligibility check, ask Fathom support what applies to your real account and billing location. Do not change your address or use a VPN to get around a restriction. Availability of some Coinepay services also varies by jurisdiction.
Expired or outdated card details
Check that the expiry date you entered is current and that the card number has no transcription errors. Fathom specifically identifies an expired card as a reason to update payment details. If you already have a subscription and need to change the card, the Account Owner can open Account/Billing → Billing → Update card details. For a decline you cannot resolve, provide the time, amount and exact error wording to the relevant support team, but never send a full card number or CVV in a support message.
Manage invoices, plan changes and cancellation
The Account Owner can find PDF invoices and payment history under Invoices in Fathom’s billing area. Use Billing → Update card details if the card on an existing subscription needs replacing. Keep the payment method current ahead of a monthly renewal.
To cancel, the Account Owner goes to Account/Billing → Account → Cancel subscription. That action ends both Pro and Portfolio if you have both. If you mean to stop only one subscription type, select its non-paying tier instead of cancelling the entire subscription. Review the resulting selections before confirming a change.
Fathom bills fees in advance and states that they are non-refundable, with no credit for partial months, unused months or plan changes. A cancelled subscription does not renew at the end of its monthly billing cycle. Fathom says account data is deleted within 30 days of cancellation and that cancellation can be undone during that period. Check your account and Fathom’s current terms before making a change that affects access to your reports.
