Bear Pro is purchased through Apple’s App Store, not through a checkout page on Bear’s website. If you want to pay with a Coinepay virtual card, the key step is adding the card to your Apple Account before choosing a subscription in Bear. This guide covers the purchase flow, what to check before confirming, and what to do if Apple declines the payment.
What you need before subscribing
- Bear on an Apple device. You can start a Pro purchase from Bear on an iPhone, iPad or Mac. Bear does not require a separate Bear-account sign-up. It has no planned native Android or Windows app; Bear Web is in public beta, but its beta access does not require Pro.
- An Apple Account. The subscription is an Apple in-app purchase tied to the Apple Account used to buy it. Make sure you know which account is signed in before paying.
- A Coinepay virtual card. Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using card services. Once your card is issued, its number, expiry date and CVV are available immediately in the Coinepay app or 24/7 self-service dashboard. You can register with Coinepay if you have not already done so.
- Your real billing information and sufficient available funds. Use billing details that match the card issuer’s records, and check your available balance against the amount Apple shows at checkout.
Apple Account payment methods vary by region. A card must be accepted for your Apple Account’s region, and a payment method that works elsewhere is not necessarily available for that account. Check the payment options Apple displays and contact Coinepay support if you need help confirming whether your card meets a requirement before you buy. Do not change your account region or billing details merely to get around a regional payment restriction.
Choose between Bear Free and Bear Pro
Bear’s tiers are Bear Free and Bear Pro. Within Pro, the purchase options are called Monthly Pro subscription and Yearly Pro subscription; they are billing periods, not separate feature tiers. At the time of writing (October 2026), the US App Store listed $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year, while the UK listing showed £2.99 per month or £29.99 per year. Prices differ by region and can change, so check Bear’s official App Store listing and the final in-app purchase screen for your own account.
If a trial appears, read the duration, first charge date and renewal terms shown in Apple’s confirmation screen. Do not rely on an older trial offer or a promotion you have not redeemed. Bear also has an educational discount program for approved applicants: its App Store code applies 30% off the first Pro annual year, excludes active subscribers and active trials, and renews at the regular price. Follow Bear’s stated eligibility and redemption instructions if that program applies to you.
How to pay for Bear Pro with your Coinepay card
- Set up your Coinepay card. Complete Coinepay registration and identity verification. In the app or dashboard, locate your virtual card number, expiry date and CVV, and check that you have enough available funds for the charge Apple will display. Check the app or ask support about any card-service details you need before proceeding.
- Add the card to your Apple Account. On iPhone or iPad, open Settings → [your name] → Payment & Shipping and follow Apple’s prompts to add a payment method. Enter your card details and your real, matching billing information. Apple may ask you to complete an issuer verification step. Card and billing changes happen in Apple Account settings, not on a Bear checkout page.
- Open Bear Pro. On iPhone or iPad, open Bear, tap the sidebar Settings button, then select Bear Pro. On Mac, open Bear’s sidebar preferences and select Bear Pro.
- Select the billing period. Choose the Monthly Pro subscription or Yearly Pro subscription offered in Bear. Review the price, any trial terms, the payment method Apple intends to use and the renewal information on the App Store purchase screen.
- Confirm through Apple. Complete the Apple in-app purchase using the authentication requested on your device. Keep the Apple purchase confirmation for your records and check Bear to see whether Pro is active.
Adding a Coinepay card to your Apple Account does not ensure Apple will approve a particular purchase. If more than one payment method is on your account, verify which one Apple presents for the transaction rather than assuming the new card will be charged.
If the card is declined or cannot be added
A failed Apple Account payment is not necessarily a Bear-specific problem. Work through the checks below without repeatedly submitting a purchase you cannot verify:
- Insufficient available balance: Compare your Coinepay card’s available funds with the amount Apple displays, including any applicable tax or other amount shown at confirmation. If funds are low, address the balance in Coinepay before trying again. Use the amount Apple actually quotes rather than assuming the App Store listing is the final charge.
- Billing-address mismatch: Reopen Apple Account Payment & Shipping and check the card number, expiry date and billing details for typing errors. Enter your real details as recorded by the issuer. If you are unsure which details apply, ask Coinepay support; do not substitute an invented address.
- Issuer verification or 3-D Secure: If Apple or the card issuer presents an authentication request, complete it through the legitimate prompt. If the request expires or cannot be completed, check for a fresh verification prompt and contact Coinepay support for help with the card. Do not assume every purchase will trigger the same check.
- Apple Account region checks: Apple’s accepted payment methods depend on the account region. Check that your account details and payment method meet Apple’s requirements for your actual region. Changing an Apple Account region can require canceling subscriptions and providing a valid payment method for the new region; it is not a shortcut around eligibility rules.
- Previous unpaid Apple purchase: Messages such as “billing problem with a previous purchase” or “verification required” can indicate an unpaid Apple Account balance that may block subscriptions. Check your Apple purchase history and resolve the outstanding charge through Apple before retrying.
Apple also notes that an issuer may restrict certain purchases, including international transactions. If Apple offers another payment method, you can consider one that is valid for your account region. For a decline involving your Coinepay card, contact Coinepay support with the attempted amount, date and any error shown, but do not send your full card number or CVV in a support message. Apple can help with an Apple Account billing problem; the card issuer is the appropriate place to ask why an individual card transaction was declined.
Manage renewal, cancellation and refunds
Bear Pro renews automatically unless you cancel it. In Bear, Bear Pro → Manage Subscription opens Apple’s subscription settings. On iPhone or iPad, you can also go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, select Bear and review the options Apple shows. If you accepted a trial and do not want it to renew, Apple advises canceling at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
Manage the card used for Apple purchases in Payment & Shipping; changing details in Bear will not replace your Apple Account payment method. Bear cannot issue a refund for an App Store charge. Its terms say paid subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law, while eligible requests for Apple purchases are handled through Apple’s Report a Problem service. Check Apple’s purchase record to identify the charge before requesting help.
Keep your Apple Account region, billing information and payment method accurate when managing the subscription. Coinepay’s card services require identity verification, are provided through licensed partner financial institutions, and may not be available in every jurisdiction. If you need to confirm a Coinepay card detail relevant to your purchase, use the Coinepay dashboard or contact support rather than guessing at checkout.
