Coinepay supports transfers to Pakistan through Global Remittance. You can choose a bank deposit, mobile-wallet payout or cash pickup, subject to the options shown for your transfer. This guide explains what to ask your recipient for, how to review the transfer before sending it and what to do if a payout needs attention.
What you need before sending
Register for a Coinepay account and complete the identity verification requested for your transfer. Use your real identity and provide accurate information about the recipient and the reason for payment. Transfers are subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and local regulations. Coinepay may request supporting documents, including evidence of the purpose or source of funds.
Ask the recipient for their full legal name as it appears on the account or identity document they will use to receive the money. Then collect the details for your chosen payout method:
- Bank deposit: The name held by the bank and the recipient’s Pakistani IBAN. Ask the recipient to confirm it directly with their bank. If the transfer instructions request a SWIFT/BIC or other bank-specific information, obtain those details from the receiving bank rather than guessing.
- Mobile wallet: The recipient’s name, the mobile number registered to their wallet and the wallet provider shown among the available payout options. Check the exact details requested in Coinepay before you confirm.
- Cash pickup: The recipient’s name as it appears on their valid identification and the pickup location details requested during setup. Tell the recipient to bring valid identification and any collection reference or instructions supplied for the transfer.
Pakistan’s local currency is the Pakistani rupee (PKR). Check the receiving currency displayed for your chosen payout rather than assuming that every route uses the same currency. The recipient should also check that their bank account or wallet can accept the intended payout.
Choose a payout method in Pakistan
Bank deposit
Bank deposit sends the payout to the recipient’s account. A Pakistani IBAN has 24 characters: it begins with PK, followed by two check digits, a four-letter bank identifier and a 16-character account field. Ask the recipient to copy their IBAN from their bank’s own records. Do not construct it from an account number or assume that a branch identifier must be entered separately.
Some transfer routes may ask only for the recipient’s name and IBAN. If the selected route requires a SWIFT/BIC or additional bank instructions, confirm them with the receiving bank. Enter the name as the bank holds it; a spelling difference or incorrect IBAN can lead to a check or rejection. Banks such as HBL, UBL, Meezan Bank, Bank Alfalah and Allied Bank are examples of banks in Pakistan, but you should rely on the payout options and fields actually shown for your transfer.
Mobile-wallet payout
Mobile wallets used in Pakistan include JazzCash and Easypaisa. Select a wallet only if it appears as an available option for your transfer in Coinepay; the presence of a provider in Pakistan does not mean every route supports it. Ask the recipient to confirm the wallet provider, their registered mobile number and the name associated with that wallet. They should check that their wallet is active and able to receive an international remittance. A wallet provider may apply its own account-verification or receiving requirements.
Cash pickup
Cash pickup lets the recipient collect the payout at an available location rather than receive it in a bank account or wallet. Select an available pickup option and check the location and collection instructions before sending. The recipient will generally need valid identification that matches the transfer name and any reference or other details provided for collection. In Pakistan, identification may include a CNIC, NICOP or passport, depending on the pickup provider’s requirements. Do not assume that a reference format used by another remittance company applies to a Coinepay transfer; follow the instructions shown for this one.
How to send money to Pakistan step by step
- Sign in to your verified account. Use the Coinepay self-service dashboard or mobile app. If you have not registered, create an account and complete the identity-verification steps requested before starting a transfer.
- Start a Global Remittance transfer. Choose Pakistan as the destination, then select the sending and receiving currencies offered for the route. If you want the recipient to receive PKR, check that PKR is displayed as the receiving currency.
- Select the payout method. Choose bank deposit, an available mobile wallet or cash pickup. Read the fields and any collection instructions for that specific option before entering recipient information.
- Enter the recipient’s details. Use their full legal name and the confirmed IBAN, wallet details or pickup information. For bank deposit, supply a SWIFT/BIC or other bank details if the selected route asks for them. Check every character against the details the recipient provided.
- Review the transfer. Coinepay shows the exchange rate and fees before you confirm. Check the displayed amount, currency, recipient name, payout method and destination details. If anything is wrong, correct it before proceeding.
- Confirm and track. Confirm the transfer only after reviewing the information. Follow its status in the Coinepay dashboard or app, and respond through the appropriate support channel if more information is requested.
Keep the recipient informed about the chosen payout method. For cash pickup, share only the collection details they need, directly and securely. For a bank or wallet payout, ask them to check the account or wallet named in the transfer rather than a different one.
Recipient-side checks and local requirements
The recipient may need to complete checks with their bank, wallet provider or pickup provider before receiving the funds. These can include confirming identity, the purpose of the payment or information about the sender. Pakistan’s receiving and reporting rules do not replace a provider’s own account requirements, and a bank or wallet may be unable to accept a payout because of the recipient’s account type or its applicable restrictions.
For a bank deposit, the recipient should verify that the IBAN belongs to the intended account and that its registered name matches the one supplied. For a wallet payout, they should verify the registered number and any receiving requirements with the wallet provider. For cash pickup, they should check the collection location’s instructions and bring the required identification. If the payment relates to a business transaction, keep the invoice or other records that explain its purpose in case they are requested.
Troubleshooting a Pakistan transfer
- Wrong recipient details: If you spot an incorrect name, IBAN, wallet number or requested bank code before confirming, edit it first. If you have already confirmed, contact Coinepay support promptly with the transfer details. Do not assume a submitted transfer can be changed; support can advise on its status and available next steps.
- Compliance review: A transfer may need further identity, security or regulatory checks. Check the dashboard or app for requests and provide genuine documents through the indicated channel. Coinepay may ask about the payment’s purpose or source of funds. Do not route the payment through someone else to avoid a check.
- Transfer taking longer than expected: Check its tracked status first. Sender funding, weekends, public holidays, intermediary processing and the receiving bank or payout provider can affect progress. If the status is unclear, contact support and ask the recipient whether their bank or provider has requested anything from them.
- Rejected or returned payout: Ask the recipient to reconfirm the account or wallet details and whether it can receive the payment. An incorrect identifier or an account-type restriction can cause a return. Follow the status and contact support for the reason and next steps before attempting another transfer.
Coinepay does not serve sanctioned persons or residents of jurisdictions under comprehensive sanctions, and screens customers and counterparties against sanctions lists. If you are unsure whether a recipient or transfer is eligible, ask Coinepay support before confirming.
