You can try paying for IONOS Website Builder with a Coinepay virtual card during IONOS checkout. First, choose the right Website Builder plan and review the contract and billing terms. Then enter your real account and billing details, and follow any payment verification prompts. Card acceptance depends on the options and checks presented for your order.

What you need before you start

  • A Coinepay account: Register and complete identity verification before using card services. Coinepay provides a virtual card number, expiry date and CVV, which you can view in its app or 24/7 self-service dashboard.
  • Enough available funds: Check the amount IONOS will charge at checkout, including applicable tax, and allow for any temporary card authorization. Check your available balance in Coinepay before submitting the order.
  • Your real billing information: Have your legal name and genuine postal address ready. IONOS asks customers to select a supported country and provide a postal address during ordering.
  • Access to both accounts: Keep your IONOS sign-in details and Coinepay app available in case checkout asks you to complete a payment verification step.

Card issuance and fund services are provided by Coinepay’s licensed partner financial institutions. Coinepay services may not be available in every jurisdiction; check the app or contact Coinepay support if you need to confirm an account or card requirement before buying.

Choose the right IONOS Website Builder plan

On the IONOS Website Builder pricing page for your country, look for MyWebsite Now Starter, MyWebsite Now Plus and MyWebsite Now Pro. These paid Website Builder tiers are separate from IONOS Online Store and AI App & Site Builder plans. Check the features of the tier you want rather than selecting another product with a similar description.

For a concrete pricing example, the US page advertised Starter at $6 per month, then $14 per month; Plus at $1 per month, then $20 per month; and Pro at $17 per month at the time of writing (October 2026). Those displayed offers specified a one-year term, and state or local sales tax may apply. Advertised monthly rates are not necessarily the exact amount charged at checkout. Promotions and pricing differ by country, so check the official IONOS Website Builder pricing page and your order summary for the current price and terms.

Pay particular attention to the difference between a contract term and a billing frequency. A one-year contract does not, by itself, mean IONOS will collect the entire year’s price upfront. IONOS says many US products offer a choice of monthly or annual billing at checkout, and that the selected billing frequency cannot later be changed. Use the frequency actually offered for your order and review the resulting charge before you confirm.

How to subscribe with your Coinepay virtual card

  1. Prepare your card. If you have not yet done so, register with Coinepay and complete identity verification. Open the Coinepay app or dashboard to find your virtual card’s number, expiry date and CVV. Check the available balance against the expected checkout charge.
  2. Open IONOS Website Builder. Visit the official IONOS Website Builder page for your country and compare MyWebsite Now Starter, Plus and Pro. Confirm that you are choosing Website Builder rather than IONOS Online Store or AI App & Site Builder.
  3. Start the order. Select your tier and use Add to cart or Continue, as shown. Review the cart for the chosen plan, contract term and any other items before proceeding. The screens can vary by country and order.
  4. Enter your account and address details. Sign in to IONOS or create an account when prompted. Select your actual postal-address country and enter your real name and address. If IONOS does not offer the product for that country, do not substitute an address from another region.
  5. Review billing and pay. Check the billing frequency, amount due now, taxes, any promotional period and the terms shown in your order summary. If card payment is offered for your checkout, enter your Coinepay card details and use the billing details associated with your card and account. Complete any verification prompt that appears, then submit the order once.
  6. Check the result. Look for IONOS’s order confirmation and inspect the invoice or payment information in your IONOS account. If the page stalls or shows an error, check the order and card activity before trying again to avoid an unnecessary duplicate attempt.

IONOS lists card payment among its payment methods in several markets, but the methods displayed for a particular Website Builder order may differ. A listed method does not guarantee that an individual card or order will be approved.

If your card is declined

Start with the message IONOS displays and the activity shown in Coinepay. An unsuccessful order can have more than one cause; repeated submissions without correcting the underlying issue may not help.

Insufficient available balance

Compare your Coinepay available balance with the amount due at checkout, not just the advertised monthly rate. Account for any applicable tax and the billing frequency you selected. IONOS may also place a temporary authorization hold or make a small verification attempt; its US guidance describes a possible $1 verification that is not necessarily a final second charge. If you are unsure whether a charge or hold has settled, check your card activity and the IONOS order status before trying again.

Billing details do not match

Recheck the card number, expiry date, CVV, name and postal address for typing errors. Use your genuine details rather than changing your address to match another market’s offer. If you need to confirm which billing information to enter for your Coinepay card, ask Coinepay support before making another attempt.

Payment verification did not complete

If checkout presents a 3-D Secure or other authentication step, finish it within the prompt rather than closing the window or switching away before it completes. If no prompt arrives, or authentication fails, check the Coinepay app and contact support with the time of the attempt and the message you saw. Do not share your full card number or CVV in a support message.

Card authorization or region checks

IONOS notes that a payment provider may decline a test charge or authorization hold, preventing an order or card update from going through. Check the entered details and available funds, then ask Coinepay support to review the attempt if the reason remains unclear. IONOS ordering also depends on the postal-address country and the product: the existence of an IONOS site for a country does not guarantee that every product is available there. If your address or order is not eligible, contact IONOS about availability; do not try to bypass its country requirements.

If you already have an IONOS account, an unpaid balance may prevent further orders, and IONOS may retry a declined automatic payment. Check your invoices and outstanding payments before placing a fresh order. If IONOS offers another payment method at your checkout, you can consider it rather than repeatedly submitting a declined card.

Manage the payment method or end the contract

To update how you pay IONOS after purchase, log in and go to Menu → My account → Invoices & payment details → Payment method → Change payment method → Save. You can find invoices in the same account area. If you also run an IONOS online shop, do not confuse these account-billing settings with your shop’s customer checkout settings; changing what shoppers can use does not change how you pay IONOS.

To cancel online, go to Menu → My account → Contracts & subscriptions, select the contract, then choose Details → Cancel contract → Cancel this entire contract. Review the effective date and data-backup or deletion notice, and keep the email confirmation. Cancelling an associated domain alone does not cancel the entire contract.

The US Website Builder page advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee, and IONOS describes an End trial period now option in the details of eligible contracts during the first month. Check your own contract’s eligibility and the treatment of any separately billed items. Outside an applicable money-back period, the minimum contract term and agreed notice period still matter.

FAQ

Which IONOS Website Builder plan should I choose?

Compare MyWebsite Now Starter, Plus and Pro on the IONOS Website Builder page for your country. Check features, current pricing, contract term and the checkout total before ordering.

Does a one-year IONOS contract mean I pay for a year upfront?

Not necessarily. The contract term and billing frequency are different. Review the billing option and amount due in your checkout; IONOS says a selected billing frequency cannot later be changed.

Why did IONOS decline my virtual card?

Possible causes include insufficient available balance, incorrect card or billing details, incomplete payment verification, or a declined authorization attempt. Check the order status and Coinepay card activity before retrying.

Where can I change my card for an existing IONOS contract?

Log in to IONOS, then go to Menu → My account → Invoices & payment details → Payment method → Change payment method → Save.
