Turkish Airlines sells flight tickets rather than a recurring subscription, so paying with a card means completing a one-time checkout after you choose your flights and fare. This guide explains what you need, how the booking and payment flow works, and what to check if your card is declined. You can hold the whole process on one card issued from your Coinepay dashboard, with its own number, expiry date and CVV.

What you need before you start

Have these ready so checkout does not stall:

  • A verified Coinepay account. Register at the Coinepay sign-up page and complete identity verification (KYC) before you try to use card services. Card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions.
  • A Coinepay virtual card with available balance. Create a card in the Coinepay app (iOS or Google Play) or the online dashboard, and note the card number, expiry and CVV.
  • Your real billing details. Use the name and billing address tied to your Coinepay account, and your real passenger identity details. Turkish Airlines may ask you to present the payment card and ID before flying if a transaction is flagged, so the details must be genuine.
  • Enough balance for the full fare. Fares shown on the Turkish Airlines flight-deals page were collected within the preceding 48 hours and may change or be unavailable by the time you book, so confirm the final amount on the payment screen.

Turkish Airlines lists a wide range of accepted card types online, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, Diners Club, Discover, Troy and MIR, among others. Some options such as Visa Electron and Maestro require the issuing bank to enable online purchases. Because acceptance can depend on route, departure country and currency, it is worth confirming your own card works for your itinerary. If you are unsure whether your Coinepay card meets a specific requirement, contact Coinepay support to check before you buy.

Understand fares versus membership tiers

Two things on the Turkish Airlines site can both look like "plans", so it helps to separate them:

  • Fare packages are what you choose for a flight. Domestic Economy packages are EcoFly, ExtraFly and PrimeFly; international Economy listings may also show FlexFly where available. Business Class is a cabin, not an Economy package.
  • Miles&Smiles tiers are loyalty status levels — Classic, Classic Plus, Elite and Elite Plus. These are membership tiers, not fare packages, and you do not need to pay for them at flight checkout.

You can pick different packages for your outbound and return flights, but not different packages for separate legs of one connecting journey. Fare rules (change and cancellation terms) differ by package, so read them before paying.

Step by step: book and pay

  1. Search your flights. On the Turkish Airlines website or app, enter your route and dates and run the search.
  2. Choose your cabin and fare package. Select EcoFly, ExtraFly, FlexFly or PrimeFly (or a Business cabin) for each direction. Check the baggage, change and refund terms attached to the package you pick.
  3. Enter passenger details. Use each traveller's real identity exactly as it appears on the travel document they will fly with.
  4. Add extras if you want them. Seats, baggage and similar add-ons are charged with the ticket; note that these extras are usually excluded from the 24-hour refund window described below.
  5. Go to the payment screen. Choose to pay by credit/bank card and enter your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date and CVV, plus the billing name and address on your Coinepay account.
  6. Complete 3-D Secure if prompted. The issuing bank may require 3-D Secure verification. Approve it through your Coinepay app notification or the one-time code method your card uses.
  7. Confirm and save your ticket. After authorization, you receive a booking reference and e-ticket by email. Keep them for check-in and any future changes.

Saving a card for faster checkout

If you sign in to Miles&Smiles, you can tick "Save my payment details" during purchase, or manage cards under "My Payment Details" in your account, then use Express Checkout next time. "My Payment Details" holds up to three saved cards, and the card CVC is not stored, so you re-enter it each time. Turkish Airlines also offers other methods such as PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, UnionPay, Klarna, iDEAL, Alipay, Cash&Miles and its TK Wallet, but availability depends on route, departure point, currency and the transaction — PayPal and Instant Bank Transfer in particular are limited to specified markets.

If your card is declined

Turkish Airlines does not publish a definitive public list mapping checkout messages to issuer reasons, but its online-service terms do confirm that card authorization, 3-D Secure and suspect-transaction checks can apply. Work through these common causes:

  • Insufficient balance. Confirm your Coinepay card holds enough for the full final fare plus any extras, in the checkout currency. Top up in the app and retry.
  • Billing address mismatch. The billing name and address you type must match what is on file for the card. Correct any typos and re-enter them exactly.
  • 3-D Secure not completed. If the bank verification window closes or times out, the payment fails. Keep the Coinepay app open to approve the prompt, then try again.
  • Merchant region or currency checks. Acceptance can vary by departure country and currency. If the card is refused on one storefront or currency, confirm your card is suitable for that market with Coinepay support before retrying — do not try to disguise your location or use details that are not your own.
  • Suspect-transaction flag. A flagged purchase may instead show a card-presentation warning, meaning you must show the actual card and ID before flying. Make sure you can present the card used.

One customer report from 2025 described seeing a "missing information in your reservation" message by card and "insufficient funds" through a wallet on a held booking; the true cause there was never confirmed, so treat such messages as a prompt to recheck balance, billing details and verification rather than a specific diagnosis. If a payment keeps failing after these checks, try a different accepted method from your account or contact Turkish Airlines through its listed channels.

Refunds and changes

Tickets created online can qualify for a full refund within 24 hours of purchase when the first flight is at least seven days away; attached extras such as seats and baggage are excluded, and the exception does not cover already-changed tickets. Outside that window, cancellation, change and refund amounts follow the rules of the fare package you bought — EcoFly, ExtraFly and PrimeFly each carry different time limits and deductions. Refunds are returned to the original payment method, so a card payment is refunded to the same Coinepay card. Tickets issued by an office, call centre or agency, paid by bank transfer, or covering partly flown or multi-city itineraries are handled through the airline's call centre or sales office rather than online.

Managing it all in Coinepay

Your Coinepay card, balance and transaction history live in the 24/7 self-service dashboard and mobile app, so you can check that the Turkish Airlines charge posted, confirm a refund arrived, or create a fresh card for your next trip. Some services are not available in every jurisdiction, and virtual-asset-related services are not offered to residents of mainland China. For anything specific to your card — limits, supported currencies or whether it fits a merchant's requirement — check the Coinepay app or reach the team via support or Telegram. FAQ

Can I pay for a Turkish Airlines ticket with a Coinepay virtual card?

You can enter a Coinepay virtual card at the card-payment step of Turkish Airlines checkout using the card number, expiry, CVV and your real billing details. Acceptance can depend on route, departure country and currency, so if you are unsure whether your card fits a specific requirement, contact Coinepay support before booking.

Is a Turkish Airlines ticket a subscription I need to manage?

No. Turkish Airlines sells one-off flight tickets, not a recurring subscription. The "packages" you see at booking are fare options like EcoFly, ExtraFly, FlexFly and PrimeFly, while Classic, Classic Plus, Elite and Elite Plus are Miles&Smiles loyalty tiers, not paid plans.

Why was my card declined at Turkish Airlines checkout?

Common causes are insufficient balance for the full final fare, a billing address that does not match the card, an uncompleted 3-D Secure verification, or region and currency checks. Recheck each, keep the Coinepay app open to approve 3-D Secure, and contact Coinepay support if it keeps failing.

Can I save my Coinepay card for faster booking next time?

Yes. Sign in to Miles&Smiles and tick "Save my payment details" during purchase, or manage cards under "My Payment Details," which holds up to three cards. The CVC is not stored, so you re-enter it each time, and you can then use Express Checkout.

Will I get a refund to my Coinepay card if I cancel?

Online tickets can qualify for a full refund within 24 hours of purchase if the first flight is at least seven days away, excluding extras. Otherwise refunds follow your fare rules. Refunds return to the original payment method, so a card payment goes back to the same Coinepay card.
