Paying for Yoast SEO depends on where you subscribe. WordPress plugins purchased on yoast.com use Yoast’s checkout, while the Yoast SEO app for Shopify is billed through Shopify. This guide explains both routes, how to prepare a Coinepay virtual card, and what to check if a payment fails.

Choose the right Yoast SEO product and checkout

If you use WordPress, the free plugin is named Yoast SEO and needs no payment. Paid options on Yoast’s shop include Yoast SEO Premium, which covers one website or domain per subscription; Yoast WooCommerce SEO, which includes Premium; and Yoast SEO AI+, which includes WooCommerce SEO and Premium.

At the time of writing (October 2026), the USD shop page listed Yoast SEO Premium at $118.80/year, Yoast WooCommerce SEO at $178.80/year, and Yoast SEO AI+ at $358.80/year, all excluding VAT. A separate Yoast SEO Google Docs add-on was listed at $5/month, excluding VAT; one seat was included with Premium or WooCommerce SEO. Check Yoast’s official shop and your checkout total before paying, because location, taxes and available offers can affect what you see.

Shopify store owners use the Yoast SEO app instead. Its listing names two tiers: Yoast SEO Premium and Yoast SEO AI+. At the time of writing (October 2026), the listed USD prices were $19 per 30-day billing cycle or $190/year for Premium, and $45 per 30-day billing cycle or $450/year for AI+. Both listed a 14-day trial. Check the Shopify app listing and the amount shown in Shopify before approval; Shopify may bill an eligible store in its local billing currency.

Important for Shopify: Shopify says prepaid and virtual credit cards cannot be used to pay its bills. Do not assume a Coinepay virtual card qualifies for Shopify billing. Contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets Shopify’s requirements before you subscribe, and check Shopify’s current billing rules for your store’s region. The yoast.com and Shopify payment flows are separate.

What to prepare before paying on yoast.com

  • A verified Coinepay account. Register and complete identity verification before using card services. You can manage your card in the Coinepay dashboard or mobile app.
  • Your virtual card details. Coinepay provides a card number, expiry date and CVV when the card is issued. Have them ready for checkout, but enter them only in the payment flow.
  • Enough available funds. Allow for the total shown at checkout, including any applicable tax, rather than relying only on the plan’s advertised price. Check your available balance and any relevant card settings in Coinepay.
  • Your real account and billing information. Use an email address you can access and enter your actual billing address. Check the postal code and state or province fields carefully.

Yoast identifies credit-card payments processed by Adyen and PayPal as yoast.com payment options; the methods displayed can vary by country. A card’s ability to complete a particular purchase is determined during checkout, so check the offered methods and ask Coinepay support if you need help confirming a card requirement before buying. Some services are unavailable in certain jurisdictions.

How to buy a WordPress subscription on yoast.com

  1. Select your product. On Yoast’s official shop, choose Yoast SEO Premium, Yoast WooCommerce SEO or Yoast SEO AI+ for your WordPress site. Review what is included and remember that a Premium subscription covers one website or domain.
  2. Review the checkout. Confirm the subscription, billing period, taxes and final amount displayed for your location. Do not use a price quoted for another region as your expected total.
  3. Enter your real purchase details. Provide an email address you control and accurate billing information. The purchase email becomes your MyYoast username.
  4. Choose an available card option. If a suitable card-payment option is displayed, enter your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date and CVV. Recheck every digit before submitting. Complete any authentication prompt presented during payment rather than repeatedly resubmitting an unfinished checkout.
  5. Finish account setup. If payment succeeds, follow Yoast’s instructions to activate MyYoast by setting a password. Keep the order confirmation for your records.

After purchase, look in MyYoast → Account → Orders for orders and invoices. MyYoast also displays the next billing date. If your purchase is not reflected there, check for a confirmation email and the payment status before attempting another checkout.

How Shopify app billing differs

For a Shopify store, install the Yoast SEO app, select Yoast SEO Premium or Yoast SEO AI+ and choose monthly or annual billing. Accept the displayed terms, select Continue to payment, then select Approve in Shopify to authorize the subscription. The listed trial is 14 days; review Shopify’s approval screen for the billing terms that will apply to your store.

Shopify, not the yoast.com checkout, manages payment for this app subscription. In the Yoast app, Account → My subscription shows the plan, status and payment details. In Shopify admin, Settings → Billing holds invoices and bill-payment settings. Because Shopify prohibits prepaid and virtual credit cards for its bills, confirm eligibility before trying to use a Coinepay card for this route. Do not move to a different billing region or enter someone else’s details to get around a payment restriction.

Troubleshoot a declined card payment

First, identify whether the error came from yoast.com or Shopify billing. The same card can face different checkout rules, and a general decline does not by itself establish the cause.

What you seeWhat to check
“Your card has insufficient funds”Check the available balance in Coinepay against the full checkout total, including applicable tax. Add sufficient funds if appropriate, then retry once.
“Your card number is incorrect” or “Your card’s security code is incorrect”Compare the number, expiry date and CVV you entered with the details shown in Coinepay. Correct any entry mistake before resubmitting.
“The zip code you supplied failed validation”Check that your real billing postal code is entered correctly and that any required state or province is filled in. Do not substitute an unrelated address.
“Your card was declined”This yoast.com message does not identify a specific reason. Check your card status and available balance, then contact Coinepay support if the details appear correct. Ask Yoast support about any checkout-side restriction.
“Your card was rejected while verifying”This Shopify billing message can indicate that the payment method fails Shopify’s requirements or recurring-payment checks. Review Shopify’s current eligibility rules and contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets them before retrying.

If authentication does not finish: A Shopify payment can fail when 3D Secure authentication is incomplete. If either checkout presents an authentication step, follow its on-screen instructions and wait for the result. If it repeatedly fails or no prompt arrives, contact Coinepay support; do not assume the payment was approved.

If the address or region is questioned: Shopify also identifies billing-address mismatches and restrictions on international transactions as possible causes. Yoast says its available payment methods vary by country. Check that your account region and real billing information are accurate, then ask the relevant billing provider about its requirements. Regional restrictions must be respected; Shopify does not make its services available in certain sanctioned jurisdictions.

Manage renewals, cancellation and refunds

For a yoast.com subscription, open MyYoast → Subscriptions → Manage to review subscription actions. To replace a payment method for upcoming automatic renewals, choose Switch payment method and complete the replacement checkout. Yoast says this process includes a minimum validation charge of 10 cents, excluding VAT; review the amount shown before proceeding.

To stop a WordPress subscription from renewing, use MyYoast → Subscriptions → Manage → Cancel subscription → Confirm cancellation. Yoast says access remains active through the paid term. Its yoast.com refund policy offers a full refund on request within 30 days of an initial eligible plugin purchase, but excludes renewals and monthly subscriptions and does not offer refunds after 30 days. Check Yoast’s policy for your purchase before requesting one.

For Shopify, deactivating the Yoast app alone does not cancel billing. Follow Yoast app → Account → Cancel subscription → Deactivate, then uninstall the app in Shopify. Yoast’s Shopify terms exclude its 30-day money-back policy and say already-paid terms are not refunded; requests concerning third-party app charges go to the app developer. Keep your cancellation and billing records in case you need support.
