You can enter a Coinepay virtual card at discovery+ checkout, but payment acceptance depends on the discovery+ service in your country and its card rules. Before subscribing, check the plan, billing provider and payment requirements for your region. This guide focuses on direct website subscriptions, where you enter card details with discovery+ rather than an app store or TV provider.
What you need before signing up
- A Coinepay account and virtual card. Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using card services. Your virtual card provides a card number, expiry date and CVV, available through the Coinepay app or self-service dashboard.
- Enough available funds. Check the amount shown at discovery+ checkout, including applicable tax, and make sure the card has enough for the payment. Check the Coinepay app for any card-specific funding requirements.
- Your real account and billing information. Enter your actual name and billing details. Do not use an address in another country to try to qualify for a different discovery+ service.
- A plan available where you live. Discovery+ plans, checkout pages and payment rules differ by country. Confirm the current offer on the official discovery+ site for your location before entering payment details.
Check the card rules first: The US discovery+ help centre says its direct website accepts major credit cards or PayPal but does not accept prepaid credit cards. UK discovery+ guidance excludes prepaid cards and says payment methods should be from the sign-up country; it advises customers whose payment method is rejected to try a UK-issued card. Do not assume a Coinepay card meets either market’s requirements. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the relevant requirement before you buy.
Choose the right discovery+ plan and checkout
At the time of writing (October 2026), US customers choosing a new subscription are shown discovery+, with limited ads, at US$6.99 per month, or discovery+ (Ad-Free), with no ads and mobile downloads, at US$11.99 per month. Applicable taxes are extra. Both plans list the same content. Check the official discovery+ pricing and checkout pages for the amount you will actually pay. An existing US subscription may be on a different billing schedule or promotional price.
In the UK, the direct plan is Entertainment, listed at the time of writing (October 2026) at £3.99 per month including VAT, with ads in on-demand content. TNT Sports is no longer a discovery+ plan. In the Republic of Ireland, the help centre calls the plan Basic (Entertainment) and lists it at €4.99 per month including VAT at the time of writing (October 2026). Check each market’s official discovery+ pricing page before subscribing.
Canada has a Rogers-operated discovery+ service; do not rely on older Canadian discovery+ account or payment instructions. At the time of writing (October 2026), its plans are discovery+ at CA$5.99 per month plus tax and discovery+ Ad Free at CA$8.99 per month plus tax. Rogers has announced increases for October 27, 2026, so check its current checkout price. The Canadian help centre names Visa, MasterCard and American Express for direct payments; it does not establish that a particular Coinepay card will be accepted.
Availability also matters: new discovery+ app subscriptions in India are no longer offered, and the Ireland help centre says discovery+ is unavailable in Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands and Spain. A payment card cannot make an unavailable regional service available.
How to subscribe on the discovery+ website
- Open the official discovery+ website for your country. In the US, you can sign up at discoveryplus.com. In the UK, the direct checkout begins with the Entertainment plan on the product page. The Canadian Rogers website starts with plan selection, marked step 1 of 4.
- Select the plan and review the terms. Compare ads, downloads where offered, the amount due today and renewal terms. Rogers’ Canadian checkout says billing begins immediately and renews monthly unless cancelled.
- Create an account or sign in. Follow the prompts for your region. UK direct checkout asks for an email address, then lets you create an account or sign in before adding a payment method.
- Enter your Coinepay virtual card details. Copy the card number, expiry date and CVV from Coinepay. Enter your real billing details as requested. Review them for typing errors before continuing.
- Complete any payment verification and confirm. If your checkout or card provider presents an authentication step, follow its instructions. Read the final amount and subscription terms before submitting. Wait for discovery+ to confirm the subscription rather than repeatedly pressing the payment button.
If you subscribe through an app store, Prime Video Channels, an internet or mobile provider, or a TV package instead, that provider may offer different plans and payment methods. You will generally need to change your payment details with whoever bills you, not through discovery+ direct-billing settings.
What to do if your card is declined
A decline does not, by itself, identify the cause. Work through these checks without changing your identity or using billing details that are not yours:
- Insufficient balance: Compare the available card balance in Coinepay with the final checkout amount, including tax. Add funds if needed through the options available to you in Coinepay, then try again. Also check that the card details have not expired.
- Billing address mismatch: Correct any typo in the name, address or postal code you submitted. Use your genuine billing details. If the checkout requires a local billing method you do not have, ask discovery+ about eligible ways to subscribe rather than entering a different country’s address.
- 3-D Secure or another authentication step: If a verification prompt appears, complete it using the instructions presented. If it closes or fails, return to checkout and try once more. Check the Coinepay app for information about the transaction or contact Coinepay support with the time and amount of the attempt.
- Merchant card or region checks: The US direct website excludes prepaid credit cards. UK guidance excludes prepaid cards and identifies cards issued outside the sign-up country as a possible acceptance problem. Contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets the applicable requirement before another purchase attempt. For a discovery+ account or checkout eligibility question, contact discovery+ support.
US discovery+ terms also identify expired cards and rejected payment methods as possible billing problems and allow for billing retries. If a charge appears but the subscription is not active, check the discovery+ account and contact the relevant billing provider before trying to pay again.
Manage future payments or cancel
First find out who bills your subscription. For a US subscription billed directly by discovery+, sign in and open profile → Subscription → Billing → Update to change the payment method. The Subscription page identifies the billing provider and, for direct billing, shows the next payment date. To cancel a US direct subscription, go to profile → Subscription → Cancel; discovery+ recommends cancelling at least a day before renewal. Direct-subscription fees are generally non-refundable unless law requires otherwise, and access ordinarily continues through the paid period.
For UK direct billing, sign in to the discovery+ subscription page and choose Update Your Payment Method. If that option is missing, check the billing provider displayed there. UK direct subscribers also cancel from the subscription page and can stream until the paid period ends. In Canada, Rogers website subscribers manage their plan in Account Settings and can cancel through Account → Billing → Cancel Subscription. Rogers says Quebec subscribers receive a prorated cancellation refund; those outside Quebec are not eligible for a cancellation refund. If an app store or other provider bills you, manage or cancel the subscription with that provider.

FAQ
Will discovery+ accept my Coinepay virtual card?
Acceptance depends on the market, checkout and card. The US direct site excludes prepaid credit cards; UK guidance excludes prepaid cards and identifies cards issued outside the sign-up country as a possible problem. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the relevant requirement before buying.
Where do I change my discovery+ payment card?
For US direct billing, use profile → Subscription → Billing → Update. For UK direct billing, choose Update Your Payment Method on the discovery+ subscription page. If an app store or provider bills you, update payment with that provider.
Why was my discovery+ payment declined?
Check your available balance, card expiry, entered billing details and any authentication prompt. The merchant may also apply card-type or regional payment rules. Ask the billing provider about checkout eligibility and Coinepay support about the card or transaction.
Can I use a subscription bought in one country to sign up in another?
Do not assume so. Discovery+ has country-specific plans and travel rules; its US help says travel outside North America requires a separate subscription in the destination country. Check availability and terms for where you live or travel.
