You can try using a Coinepay virtual card to pay for a 1Password subscription through 1Password’s own checkout. This guide covers what to prepare, how to complete sign-up and payment, and what to check if the card is declined. Payment is subject to 1Password’s checkout requirements and card verification checks.

What you need before you start

  • A Coinepay account with completed identity verification. You must register and complete KYC before using Coinepay card services. You can register with Coinepay if you have not already done so.
  • Your virtual card details. Once issued, the card number, expiry date and CVV are available through Coinepay. Check your card and available funds in the Coinepay app or self-service dashboard before checkout.
  • Your real billing information. Have the name and billing address associated with your payment details ready. Enter them accurately rather than using a borrowed or invented address.
  • Access to your 1Password account email. You may need it to finish account setup, review your subscription, or respond to a payment-verification request.

Check 1Password’s official pricing page for the plans and current prices available to you; prices vary by region. Also check whether the amount due includes any applicable tax. If you need to know whether your Coinepay card has a particular limit or meets a checkout requirement, check the app or contact Coinepay support before attempting payment.

Choose the right 1Password checkout

Start at 1Password’s official website if you want to pay 1Password directly. Select the subscription option that fits your needs, such as an option for one person or for a household, if offered in your region. Review the displayed billing period, price and any trial terms before continuing. Do not assume a trial means no payment details will be requested or that a charge cannot follow when the trial ends; read the terms shown at checkout.

If you started a subscription inside an iPhone or Android app, its billing may instead be handled by the relevant app store. In that case, use the store’s payment settings to manage the payment method. The steps below are for a checkout that accepts card details directly; they do not change an app-store subscription.

How to sign up and pay for 1Password

  1. Open Coinepay and check your card. Sign in through the Coinepay dashboard or mobile app. If you have not completed identity verification, follow the prompts there first. Locate your issued virtual card and check that its available funds cover the full amount shown by 1Password at checkout.
  2. Begin sign-up on 1Password’s official website. Choose the subscription you want and follow the account-creation prompts. Provide an email address you control and use your real account details. If you already have a 1Password account, sign in instead and look for its subscription or billing options.
  3. Complete the security setup. Follow 1Password’s instructions for creating and safeguarding your account credentials. If your setup provides an Emergency Kit, store it securely rather than leaving it in an unprotected download folder. This step concerns access to your password manager; it is separate from entering a payment card.
  4. Review the order. Confirm the selected subscription, billing period, amount due now, and any renewal or trial information displayed. If the checkout offers more than one payment route, choose the option to enter a card directly for this guide.
  5. Enter your Coinepay virtual card details. Copy the card number, expiry date and CVV from Coinepay into the corresponding 1Password checkout fields. Enter your real cardholder and billing details where requested. Check every digit and the billing address before submitting.
  6. Complete any verification prompt. Your payment may require an additional authentication step, such as 3-D Secure. Follow the on-screen instructions and wait for the checkout result. Do not repeatedly submit the payment while a verification screen is still open.
  7. Confirm the subscription status. Look for a confirmation from 1Password and check its account billing area to see whether your subscription is active. Check Coinepay for the corresponding card activity. If checkout shows an error, do not assume a visible card authorization means the subscription is active; verify the status with 1Password before trying again.

Keep your card details private. Only enter them into the checkout you intentionally opened, and do not send your CVV, account credentials or 1Password Emergency Kit to anyone offering to complete payment for you.

What to check if your card is declined

A decline does not identify a single cause. Read the exact message on the checkout screen, then work through the checks below. If an attempt produced a charge or authorization but no clear subscription confirmation, ask 1Password to check the order status before making another attempt.

Insufficient available funds

Compare the available funds shown in Coinepay with the final amount at 1Password checkout, including any displayed tax. Make sure you are looking at the amount due immediately, not just a monthly equivalent shown for a longer billing period. Other card activity can affect what is available. If you are unsure about funding options or an applicable card limit, check the Coinepay app or contact support; do not guess from the advertised subscription price alone.

Billing address or card-detail mismatch

Recheck the card number, expiry date and CVV, especially if you pasted them. Then compare the billing name, address and postal code you entered with your real billing details. A typo or an address mismatch can interrupt checkout. Correct the information rather than trying another person’s address or changing your stated country to bypass a check.

3-D Secure authentication did not finish

If checkout requests extra verification, complete it in the window or screen provided. An expired prompt, closed tab or interrupted connection may leave the payment unfinished. Return to the checkout and review its status before starting over. If you cannot receive or complete an authentication request, contact Coinepay support with the time of the attempt and the error message. Never share your CVV or a one-time verification code in a support message.

Merchant region or payment-method checks

1Password’s available subscription and payment options may depend on the country selected at checkout and its current payment rules. Check the requirements shown there and use your actual residence and billing details. If a merchant restricts eligible card types or cards issued in certain countries, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets that requirement before you buy. A card that can be entered into a form is not necessarily eligible for the transaction.

If the payment still fails, record the wording of the error, the approximate time and the subscription option you selected. Ask 1Password about checkout or account-status errors, and ask Coinepay about card activity or a card-side decline. Share only the information each support team needs; never send a full card number or CVV in a message.

Manage your subscription and future payments

After purchase, use 1Password’s account billing area to review your subscription, renewal information, invoices and available payment-method controls. The labels may differ depending on how you subscribed. If you paid through an app store, manage billing through that store instead of assuming changes on 1Password’s website will update the store subscription.

Before a renewal, check the payment method on file and the available funds on your Coinepay card. If you want to change or cancel your 1Password subscription, follow the instructions shown in the billing service that actually charges you and review its effective date and terms. Coinepay lets you view and manage your virtual card through its self-service service and mobile apps for iOS and Android; subscription changes themselves belong with 1Password or the app store handling your purchase.

FAQ

Can I use a Coinepay virtual card for 1Password?

You can enter its card details if your 1Password checkout offers direct card payment, but acceptance depends on the checkout’s requirements and payment checks.

Where do I find the card number, expiry date and CVV?

Sign in to the Coinepay app or self-service dashboard and open your issued virtual card. Complete identity verification first if required.

Why was my 1Password payment declined?

Check available funds, card details, your real billing address and any unfinished 3-D Secure prompt. Review the checkout’s region and payment rules; contact the relevant support team if the cause remains unclear.

Where do I change the card used for my 1Password renewal?

Check the billing area of your 1Password account if you subscribed directly. If an app store bills you, update the payment method in that store instead.
