LastPass Premium is the single-user tier of the LastPass password manager, adding features beyond the Free plan such as expanded sharing and emergency access. If you want to pay for it with a Coinepay virtual card, this guide walks through what you need, how the sign-up and checkout flow works, and how to troubleshoot a declined card.

This article is an independent help guide. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by LastPass. Always confirm current prices and terms on the official LastPass website before you pay.

What you need before you start

  • A verified Coinepay account. You must register and complete identity verification (KYC) before you can create and use a virtual card. Card issuance is provided by licensed partner financial institutions.
  • An issued virtual card. Once created, your card shows an instant card number, expiry date and CVV in the Coinepay app (iOS / Android) or dashboard.
  • Enough balance on the card to cover the subscription plus any tax added at checkout.
  • Your real billing details. Use your genuine name and billing address. LastPass prohibits access from sanctioned or trade-restricted locations, so your real details must comply with its terms.

LastPass says it accepts major credit and debit/bank cards. An explicit list of accepted card networks, and whether PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay work at website checkout, is not confirmed in our research. If you are unsure whether your Coinepay card will meet a specific requirement, contact Coinepay support to confirm before you buy.

Know which plan you are buying

LastPass lists several personal plans: Free, Premium (one user), Families (six users) and Plus (one user, with VPN). Business plans are Teams, Business and Business Max. Premium is the single-user paid plan this guide focuses on.

Note that Plus was announced on October 7, 2026 alongside a LastPass VPN for Windows. Plus is a separate plan, not a new name for Premium, so make sure you select Premium if that is what you want.

At the time of writing (October 2026), LastPass showed US Premium at $3/month billed annually ($36/year) on its account-creation page, and US Plus at $7/month billed annually ($84/year). Prices vary by region and currency, and applicable taxes are added at checkout. Always check the final amount on the official LastPass pricing page before paying, because displayed monthly rates are billed as a single annual charge.

Step-by-step: subscribe and pay

  1. Create your virtual card in Coinepay. Open the app or dashboard, issue a card, and note the card number, expiry and CVV. Load enough balance for the annual charge plus tax.
  2. Go to the LastPass pricing page. On lastpass.com, choose Premium and select its subscription or trial button. Premium and Families offer a 30-day trial that does not require a card; the paid annual subscription is offered when the trial ends. Continuing on Free does not keep paid features.
  3. Create or sign in to your LastPass account. Use your real email and set up your master password. If you already have a Free account, log in with it.
  4. Reach the checkout / payment screen. When prompted for payment, enter your Coinepay card number, expiry date and CVV exactly as shown in the app.
  5. Enter your billing address carefully. Use the billing address associated with your Coinepay account. A mismatch here is one of the most common causes of a decline.
  6. Review the total. Confirm the annual amount and any added tax before you submit. This is your chance to catch a currency or plan selection you did not intend.
  7. Complete any verification step. If prompted by 3-D Secure or a confirmation from your card provider, approve it in the Coinepay app to finish the payment.
  8. Confirm the subscription is active. After payment, your vault should reflect Premium features. Keep the confirmation for your records.

Where to manage or update your card later

For a website-purchased Premium subscription, billing-card settings live in the vault under Account settings → Account Information → My Account → Update Payment Method. In a Families plan, only the family owner can update the card.

If Update Payment Method is not visible, LastPass says auto-renewal is off. Safari users who cannot see My Account can open https://lastpass.com/my.php or try another browser.

If you bought LastPass through the Apple App Store or Google Play instead of the website, payment is handled by your Apple or Google account, and LastPass says it does not receive or store those store-payment details. In that case, you would update or cancel through Apple or Google rather than on the LastPass site.

Troubleshooting a declined card

Insufficient balance

LastPass Premium is billed as one annual charge, not monthly. Make sure your Coinepay card holds enough for the full yearly amount plus any tax added at checkout. Top up in the Coinepay app and try again.

Billing address mismatch

Enter the exact billing address tied to your Coinepay account. If the address or postal code does not match, the payment can be rejected even when funds are available.

3-D Secure or card-provider confirmation

LastPass Support has suggested that a card-company multifactor or confirmation requirement can be a possible cause of a declined payment. If a verification prompt appears, approve it promptly in the Coinepay app. Check your app notifications if the checkout seems to stall.

Fraud alert from an unfamiliar descriptor

One user historically reported a renewal flagged as fraud because the statement showed a Logmein*gotomypc.com descriptor rather than "LastPass" (this is unconfirmed as a current descriptor). If a charge is blocked as suspicious, you may need to confirm the transaction with your card provider in the Coinepay app.

"You cannot purchase this product with your account"

Some users see "You cannot purchase this product with your account", explaining the product is not compatible with their account. LastPass Support has attributed this to a previous mobile-app-store purchase and adjusted the account's billing preference to allow a website purchase. This is an account-compatibility issue, not evidence that your card was declined, so contact LastPass Support rather than changing cards.

Merchant region checks

LastPass prohibits access and purchase from sanctioned or significantly trade-restricted locations, expressly including Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine. A full list of places where paid checkout works is not confirmed. Use your real location and details; do not try to bypass regional checks.

Still declined?

If the card itself is being rejected, confirm your Coinepay card is active and funded in the app, then contact Coinepay support. You can also reach the team on Telegram. A published LastPass decline-code list is not available, so for account-side errors contact LastPass Support directly.

Before your renewal

LastPass personal subscriptions generally renew automatically. The terms say cancellation must happen at least 30 days before the term ends to prevent renewal. Premium users can select Cancel in the vault under Account Settings → My Account or notify support. LastPass's personal terms state payments are final and non-refundable, so plan your renewal and keep enough balance on your Coinepay card ahead of the billing date.

FAQ

Can I use a Coinepay virtual card to pay for LastPass Premium?

LastPass says it accepts major credit and debit/bank cards. The exact networks it accepts at website checkout are not confirmed in our research, so if you are unsure, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the requirement before you buy. Always use your real billing details.

How much does LastPass Premium cost?

At the time of writing (October 2026), LastPass showed US Premium at $3/month billed annually ($36/year). Prices vary by region and currency, and tax is added at checkout. Check the official LastPass pricing page for the current amount before paying.

Why was my card declined at LastPass checkout?

Common causes include insufficient balance for the full annual charge, a billing-address mismatch, an unapproved 3-D Secure or card-provider confirmation, or a merchant region restriction. Note that the error "You cannot purchase this product with your account" is an account-compatibility issue, not a card decline"contact LastPass Support for that one.

Where do I update the card used for my LastPass subscription?

For website purchases, go to the vault under Account settings → Account Information → My Account → Update Payment Method. In Families, only the owner can change it. If you bought through Apple or Google, update payment through that app store instead.

How do I stop LastPass Premium from auto-renewing on my card?

LastPass terms require cancelling at least 30 days before the term ends. Premium users can select Cancel in the vault under Account Settings → My Account, or notify LastPass Support. Payments are described as final and non-refundable, so cancel in good time.
