Bitdefender Total Security is a multi-device security suite you buy as a yearly or two-year subscription on the official Bitdefender website. This guide shows how to pay for it with a Coinepay virtual card, from creating the card to completing checkout, and how to work through the most common reasons a card payment is declined.

What you need before you start

Have these ready so checkout goes smoothly:

  • A verified Coinepay account. Register at Coinepay and complete identity verification (KYC) before you can use card services. You manage everything from the 24/7 dashboard or the Coinepay app for iOS and Android.
  • A Coinepay virtual card. When you create one you instantly get the card number, expiry date and CVV you will type at checkout.
  • Enough balance on the card. Fund it to cover the plan price plus any applicable sales tax or VAT, since the displayed first-year price is not the final checkout total in every region.
  • Your real billing details. Use the name and billing address that match your Coinepay account. Always use your real identity and real billing information.

Bitdefender lists its services as unavailable due to sanctions in Belarus, China, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria, Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk. Coinepay likewise does not serve residents of jurisdictions under comprehensive sanctions, and virtual-asset-related services are not available to residents of mainland China.

Choose your Total Security plan

On the official Bitdefender site, Total Security comes in two tiers:

  • Bitdefender Total Security Individual — 1 account, 5 devices.
  • Bitdefender Total Security Family — 5 accounts, 25 devices. (This is distinct from the separately named Bitdefender Family Pack, so look for the "Family" Total Security tier.)

Both tiers offer a yearly and a two-year term. At the time of writing (October 2026), the United States page showed Individual at USD 59.99 for year one or USD 119.99 for two years, and Family at USD 79.99 for year one or USD 159.99 for two years, plus applicable sales tax. In Germany, Individual was EUR 49.99 (year one) or EUR 99.99 (two years) and Family EUR 79.99 or EUR 159.99, VAT included. Prices vary by region and change, so always confirm the current figure on the official Bitdefender Total Security page for your country before you buy. The displayed first-year price is a promotional rate, not a guaranteed renewal price.

Step-by-step: subscribe and pay

  1. Create your Coinepay virtual card. In the dashboard or app, open the card section, create a card and note the number, expiry and CVV. Top it up to cover the full charge.
  2. Open the official Bitdefender Total Security page for your region and select the tier (Individual or Family) and term (yearly or two-year) you want.
  3. Click Buy Now. Enter your email address. If that address already has a Bitdefender account you will be asked to sign in; a new email creates a new account automatically.
  4. Enter your personal and billing details. Use the name and address tied to your Coinepay account.
  5. Select a payment method. Bitdefender identifies payment cards and PayPal as checkout options; choose the card option. Note that checkout is handled by its authorized vendor 2Checkout, now Verifone, so the charge may appear on your statement as 2CO.com*bitdefender.co.
  6. Enter your Coinepay card number, expiry date and CVV and the matching billing address.
  7. Approve 3-D Secure if prompted. The checkout uses 3-D Secure 2.0. If an approval step appears, confirm it through the method your card issuer provides.
  8. Confirm the purchase. A completed website purchase is added to the Bitdefender Central account for your checkout email without manual code entry, and Bitdefender emails an invoice and purchase confirmation.
Bitdefender has not published a definitive list of accepted card networks for this checkout, and it does not state that every debit, prepaid or virtual card is accepted. If you want to confirm your card will work before you buy, contact Coinepay support.

Troubleshooting a declined card

Bitdefender lists several common decline reasons: insufficient funds, the bank's server being unreachable, online payments not authorized by the bank, and an expired card. A failed charge can trigger an email stating the credit card cannot be charged. Work through the causes below.

Insufficient balance

The charge must cover the plan price plus any tax or VAT shown at checkout. Open your Coinepay app, check the card balance and top up if it falls short, then retry.

Billing address mismatch

If the billing address you type does not match the details on file for your card, the payment can be refused. Re-enter the billing name and address exactly as they appear in your Coinepay account.

3-D Secure approval pending

If a card payment stalls without being accepted or rejected, it may be waiting for your 3-D Secure 2.0 approval. Check for a prompt and complete it. If you missed it, restart checkout and keep your phone to hand.

Payment not authorized or bank unreachable

A "payment was declined" message or a checkout page that freezes or will not advance can come from an authorization failure. Confirm the card is active and funded in Coinepay, then try again. If it keeps failing, contact Coinepay support to check whether the transaction reached the card.

Region and activation-code limits

Some Bitdefender activation codes are country-restricted. If you see a region-restriction error, Bitdefender advises contacting the vendor or its support. Buy from the Bitdefender page for the country where you live and use matching billing details; do not attempt to disguise your location.

After you subscribe: managing billing and renewal

Your subscription appears in Bitdefender Central. Payment details are under Bitdefender Central → My Subscriptions → Billing or My Payments — the exact tab depends on which of the two current billing interfaces and payment platform your order uses. For eligible 2Checkout purchases, you can also go to store.bitdefender.com/myaccount/, request an email access link (it expires after one hour) and use My Products to update the payment method or manage renewal.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the applicable renewal price, which may be higher than the first-year promotional price; Bitdefender says it emails pricing information before billing. To keep the renewal from failing silently, make sure your Coinepay card is still valid and funded before the renewal date, or update to a newer card in advance.

Turning off auto-renewal or requesting a refund

You can turn off auto-renewal in Central → My Subscriptions → My Payments, or in the other interface via Subscriptions → ••• → Subscription & Continuous Protection → Cancel Subscription; 2Checkout's My Products is another route. The cancellation flow distinguishes cancelling at term end from an immediate cancellation with refund and expiry where that option is offered. Bitdefender states a 30-day money-back guarantee for direct purchases and renewals, with requests directed to [email protected] within 30 days of the initial purchase or automatic-renewal date. Its customer service can refund only orders placed through the official website.

Keep your Coinepay card handy

Because a Coinepay virtual card gives you an instant number, expiry and CVV, you can create a dedicated card for subscriptions like this and set a spending limit that suits a yearly or two-year charge. For questions about your card, balance or a stuck payment, reach the team through the support page or Telegram.

FAQ

Can I use a Coinepay virtual card to pay for Bitdefender Total Security?

Bitdefender's checkout accepts payment cards, and you enter the card number, expiry and CVV from your Coinepay virtual card at the official site. Bitdefender has not published which card networks or whether all virtual cards are accepted, so contact Coinepay support if you want to confirm your card meets the requirement before buying.

Why was my card declined at Bitdefender checkout?

Bitdefender lists insufficient funds, the bank being unreachable, payments not authorized by the bank, and an expired card as common reasons. A stalled payment may be waiting for 3-D Secure 2.0 approval. Check your Coinepay balance, confirm the billing address matches, complete any 3-D Secure prompt, and retry.

What will the charge look like on my statement?

Official-site purchases are processed by Bitdefender's authorized vendor 2Checkout, now Verifone, so the charge may appear as 2CO.com*bitdefender.co rather than as Bitdefender directly.

How much does Bitdefender Total Security cost?

Prices vary by region and term. At the time of writing (October 2026) the US page showed Individual at USD 59.99 for year one and Family at USD 79.99 for year one, plus tax, with two-year options also available. Check the official Bitdefender Total Security page for your country for the current price.

How do I stop my subscription from auto-renewing?

Turn off auto-renewal in Bitdefender Central under My Subscriptions → My Payments, or via Subscriptions → ••• → Subscription & Continuous Protection → Cancel Subscription; 2Checkout's My Products is another route. Bitdefender also offers a 30-day money-back guarantee for direct purchases via [email protected].
