You can send money from the United Arab Emirates to Egypt with Coinepay Global Remittance. Before you start, ask the recipient how they want to receive the money and collect the details for that payout method. You will see the exchange rate and fees in Coinepay before you confirm the transfer.
What you need before sending
You need a Coinepay account with identity verification completed. If you have not registered, you can create an account, then follow the verification steps in the Coinepay app or self-service dashboard. Use your real identity and provide accurate information about the transfer.
For the recipient, start with their full legal name, written as it appears on the identification or account they will use to receive the money. Then collect the details for your chosen payout method:
- Bank deposit: Ask for the account-holder name, Egyptian bank name and the account’s IBAN or other account details requested in the Coinepay form. A transfer route may also ask for the bank’s SWIFT/BIC or a local bank code. Obtain these details from the recipient or their bank rather than guessing.
- Mobile wallet: Ask for the recipient’s registered wallet provider and mobile number. The wallet must belong to the intended recipient and be eligible to receive the transfer.
- Cash pickup: Enter the recipient’s legal name exactly as it appears on their acceptable identification. Check the pickup information displayed during the transfer and make sure the recipient can visit the designated location.
Egypt’s local currency is the Egyptian pound (EGP). Check the payout currency shown for the method you select; do not assume every receiving service pays out in the same currency. The available methods and required fields are shown in Coinepay when you set up the transfer.
Choose a way for the recipient to receive money in Egypt
Bank account deposit
Bank deposit sends the transfer to the recipient’s Egyptian account. For an Egyptian account, the IBAN is a useful detail to request: it has 29 characters, beginning with EG, followed by two check digits, a four-digit bank code, a four-digit branch code and a 17-digit account number. Those bank and branch identifiers are part of the IBAN; they are not a US routing number, IFSC or CLABE.
Ask the recipient to copy their IBAN from their bank’s records and confirm that the account-holder name matches. If the Coinepay transfer form asks for a separate account number, local bank code or SWIFT/BIC, enter the requested field as supplied by the bank. Requirements can differ by payout route, so follow the fields displayed rather than assuming an IBAN alone is sufficient. The recipient should also confirm that the account can receive the payout currency shown.
Mobile wallet
A mobile-wallet payout, when displayed as an option for your transfer, sends money to an eligible wallet associated with the recipient’s mobile number. Egyptian wallet examples include Vodafone Cash, Orange Cash, BM Wallet and Phone Cash. These examples do not mean every wallet is available on every Coinepay transfer; select only a provider offered in the app for your recipient.
Ask the recipient to confirm that their wallet is active, registered in their own name and linked to the exact number you enter. Egyptian wallet registration requires a valid national ID and a matching mobile number. Wallet providers may also apply their own receiving, transaction or balance restrictions. If a wallet option does not appear, or the recipient is unsure whether it can receive a cross-border payment, check the options in Coinepay and ask the wallet provider before confirming.
Cash pickup
Cash pickup lets the recipient collect the transfer at an eligible payout location, if that option is offered for the transfer. The recipient will generally need acceptable identification matching the name you entered and any transfer or collection details provided after you send. Share those details directly with the intended recipient, and ask them to check the location’s opening hours, identification requirements and payout currency before travelling. Collection may depend on the location’s ability to make the payout when they arrive.
How to send money from the UAE to Egypt
- Open Coinepay and start a transfer. Sign in through the Coinepay mobile app or 24/7 self-service dashboard. If prompted, complete identity verification before proceeding.
- Choose Egypt and the payout method. Set Egypt as the destination, select the receiving method offered for this transfer and choose the displayed payout currency. Check that the option matches what the recipient can use.
- Enter the sender and recipient information. Provide the recipient’s full legal name and the bank, wallet or pickup details requested on screen. Supply any other information the form requires about you, the recipient or the reason for sending. Review names, numbers and codes character by character.
- Review the transfer before confirming. Coinepay shows the exchange rate and fees before confirmation. Check the amount you are sending, the amount and currency the recipient is expected to receive, the payout method and all recipient details. If something is wrong, edit it before you confirm.
- Confirm and track the transfer. Complete the on-screen confirmation and keep the transfer reference or receipt. You can follow the transfer’s status in Coinepay. If Coinepay requests additional information, respond through the appropriate account or support channel.
Transfers are subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and applicable UAE and Egyptian regulations. Coinepay may request documents explaining the transfer’s purpose or the source of funds. Send only to a recipient you can identify accurately; Coinepay does not serve sanctioned persons or residents of jurisdictions under comprehensive sanctions.
What the recipient should check
Tell the recipient which payout method and currency you selected, without sharing your account credentials. For a bank deposit, they should verify that their bank account is active, the name and account details are correct, and the bank can accept the incoming payment. Their bank may ask them for information or apply its own account procedures before crediting the funds.
For a wallet payout, they should check that the wallet is active under their identity, that the registered mobile number is correct and that the wallet can receive the payment. For cash pickup, they should have the identification and collection details required by the payout location. Egyptian banks, wallet providers and pickup agents may conduct their own checks under local rules; the recipient should answer requests for information truthfully.
Troubleshooting a transfer to Egypt
The recipient details are wrong
If you notice a wrong name, IBAN, account number, bank code or mobile number before confirmation, correct it in the transfer form. If you have already confirmed, check the status and contact Coinepay support promptly with the transfer reference and the correct details. Do not assume a submitted transfer can be changed or cancelled. Incorrect details can delay a payout or cause a receiving institution to return it.
The transfer is under review
A request for identification, the purpose of the transfer or evidence of the source of funds does not by itself mean the payment has failed. Check your transfer status and any messages in Coinepay, then provide the requested documents through the stated channel. Security, compliance and sanctions checks can prevent a transfer from moving forward until the necessary information is available.
The recipient has not received the money
First check Coinepay’s status tracking and confirm which payout method was selected. Bank processing hours, weekends, public holidays, intermediary processing and the receiving bank’s final crediting can affect when funds become available. A cash pickup also depends on the agent’s hours and ability to pay out. If the status suggests the transfer is complete but the recipient cannot access it, contact support with the transfer reference and describe what the recipient’s bank, wallet provider or pickup location has told them.
The transfer was returned
Review the recipient information and any reason shown in Coinepay. A receiving institution may return a transfer if account details are incorrect or it cannot complete the payout. Contact support for the status and next steps before starting another transfer; check the recipient’s details with their bank or payout provider first.
