You can try a Coinepay virtual card when subscribing to YouTube Premium, but payment approval depends on YouTube’s rules for your country, billing platform and account. This guide covers what to prepare, how to complete checkout, and what to check if the card is declined.

Before you subscribe

Start with the Google Account on which you want the membership. Check YouTube’s official Premium page for the plans and prices offered in your location. Premium and Premium Lite have different country availability, and not every plan is offered everywhere. Prices vary by region, so use the price shown on YouTube’s official pricing page and at checkout rather than assuming a price from another country applies to you.

Choose the membership that matches what you want:

  • YouTube Premium includes YouTube Music Premium. Depending on location and eligibility, YouTube offers Individual Monthly, Individual Annual (prepaid), Family, Two-person and Student plans.
  • YouTube Premium Lite is an individual monthly membership. It does not include YouTube Music Premium; music content and Shorts may still carry ads. Background play and downloads are available for most eligible Lite videos.
  • YouTube Music Premium is also sold separately, with plan options that depend on location and eligibility.

A Family membership covers the manager and up to five other people in the same household; Two-person covers the manager and one other household member. Student eligibility must be verified annually and is available for at most four years. If you want an Individual Annual plan, note that it is paid upfront, lasts 12 months and does not automatically renew. YouTube lists annual plans only in Brazil, Canada, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico, Thailand, Turkey and the US. Check the options displayed for your account before purchasing.

To prepare your card, register with Coinepay and complete identity verification (KYC), which is required before using card services. Open the Coinepay app or self-service dashboard to obtain your virtual card number, expiry date and CVV. Check your available funds and any applicable card settings in the app. Have your real billing details ready; they should match the details associated with your payment method. Do not use another person’s identity or an invented address.

How to subscribe and pay

  1. Sign in to the intended Google Account. On the web, open YouTube’s Premium page by entering youtube.com/premium in your browser. In the YouTube app, tap your profile picture and select an eligible trial or Get YouTube Premium, if offered.
  2. Review the available plans. Select the membership and billing option you want. Read the price, any trial terms and the date of the first charge on the checkout screen. Google may ask for a valid payment method even when a trial is available; a recurring plan is charged after the trial unless you cancel first.
  3. Choose a card payment option if one is offered. Enter the Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date and CVV as requested. Provide your real billing name and address, including the correct postal or ZIP code. A first purchase may add the payment method to your Google Account.
  4. Complete any verification request. Follow the prompts displayed by Google and your payment provider. Do not repeatedly submit the payment if verification fails; check the error and the card details first.
  5. Confirm the purchase. Read the final amount and renewal terms before approving. Then check the Google Account used for the purchase to make sure the intended membership is active.

Check who bills you: New Premium sign-ups in the Android app have generally used Google Play billing. An iPhone or iPad purchase may be billed by Apple. The available payment methods and the place to manage the subscription depend on that billing platform, so a card option seen on YouTube’s website may not appear in an app checkout. Follow the payment choices actually offered on your screen; entering a card does not guarantee approval.

If your Coinepay card is declined

YouTube documents messages such as “Card Declined,” “Correct this card info or try a different card,” “Card Expired,” and “Please verify your card info and try again.” Work through the likely causes rather than guessing that every decline has the same fix.

  • Insufficient funds: Check the available amount in Coinepay against the checkout total. Even a trial may involve an authorization hold, which can fail if there are not enough funds. Allow for the amount shown at checkout and any applicable taxes; check your card’s current settings in the Coinepay app.
  • Card details or billing address mismatch: Re-enter the number, expiry date and CVV carefully. Confirm that the billing name, address and ZIP or postal code are accurate and match your real payment details. If the card has expired, use current card details from your Coinepay dashboard.
  • Verification or 3-D Secure prompt: If checkout asks you to authenticate, complete the displayed steps promptly. If a prompt does not appear, expires or fails, check for an outstanding request in the payment flow and try again only after reviewing it. Contact Coinepay support if you need help determining whether your card can complete the verification required for that purchase.
  • Country or payment-method restriction: YouTube’s methods vary by country and billing platform, and some countries require a locally issued payment method. For example, YouTube lists locally issued cards among its payment options in India and Canada. If checkout requires a locally issued card, contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets that requirement before you buy. Do not assume a card will qualify merely because card entry is available.
  • Google payments-account review: “Your payment was declined due to an issue with your account” may indicate that Google needs fraud-prevention or compliance information, or has flagged a payments-profile transaction. Follow Google’s account instructions and provide genuine information if requested.

If a payment method is unavailable for the purchase, check YouTube’s payment-method guidance for your country and the billing provider shown at checkout. Do not change your stated country or use a VPN to bypass regional checks. YouTube expects a membership to be used predominantly in its sign-up country; extended travel, a move or misrepresenting location may affect the membership. If the Coinepay card still fails after you have checked the details and any prompts, contact Coinepay support with the decline message and contact YouTube or the relevant billing provider about account- or merchant-side restrictions.

Manage renewal, receipts and cancellation

For a YouTube-billed membership, go to youtube.com/paid_memberships → Manage membership to see the plan, next billing date, amount and payment method. You can find receipts under payments.google.com → Activity. To cancel a YouTube-billed recurring membership, follow Manage membership → Deactivate → Continue to cancel → Yes, cancel. If Google Play or Apple bills the membership, manage and cancel it through that provider instead.

Cancellation stops future renewal, but benefits normally remain available until the end of the paid billing period; unused days are not normally refunded. YouTube may consider a refund if purchased features do not work, but an approved refund ends Premium access. Partially used prepaid plans are not refundable, and Apple handles refund requests for Apple-billed purchases. Keep the confirmation and receipt so you can identify the billing provider if you need help later.

Coinepay card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions. Some Coinepay services are not available in every jurisdiction; check the app or contact support if you are unsure what is available to you.

FAQ

Can I use a Coinepay virtual card for a YouTube Premium trial?

You can enter it if your checkout offers card payment, but Google may require a valid method and place an authorization hold. Approval depends on the checkout and payment checks.

Why was my card declined even though it has funds?

Check the card details, real billing address and any authentication prompt. YouTube may also restrict payment methods by country or review your Google payments account.

Where do I change the payment method for YouTube Premium?

For YouTube-billed memberships, go to youtube.com/paid_memberships and select Manage membership. For Google Play- or Apple-billed memberships, use that billing provider’s subscription settings.

Does cancelling YouTube Premium give me a refund?

Cancellation normally stops renewal while benefits continue through the paid period; unused days are not normally refunded. YouTube has separate refund rules for features that do not work.
