Apple's streaming service, now called Apple TV (formerly Apple TV+), can be paid for with a card added to your Apple Account. If you fund it through a Coinepay virtual card, you get an instant card number, expiry date and CVV you can add to Apple's payment settings. This guide walks through what you need, how to sign up and check out, and how to troubleshoot a declined payment.

What you need before you start

  • A Coinepay account with identity verification (KYC) complete. You can register here and manage everything from the iOS app, the Android app, or the web dashboard.
  • A Coinepay virtual card with its number, expiry and CVV, plus enough balance to cover the first charge and recurring renewals.
  • An Apple Account (previously called an Apple ID). You can create one during sign-up.
  • Your real billing details. Apple may run address verification, so the billing address on your card profile should match what you enter.

Apple describes accepted methods as "most credit and debit cards," which is not a guarantee that any specific card will be accepted. If you are unsure whether your Coinepay card meets Apple's requirements in your region, contact Coinepay support before you subscribe.

Apple TV plans and prices

In most markets Apple offers a single standalone monthly subscription after an advertised seven-day free trial. Standalone monthly prices seen at the time of writing (October 2026) include US $14.99, Canada C$14.99, UK £9.99, Australia A$15.99, Germany €9.99, France €9.99, Japan ¥1,200 and Brazil R$34.90. Apple TV is also bundled in other plans:

  • Apple One (US): Individual $21.95, Family $27.95 and Premier $39.95 per month, each including Apple TV.
  • Apple Music Student Plan (US): $6.99 per month with Apple TV access at no extra charge.
  • Apple TV and Peacock (US only): Peacock Premium bundle $17.99/month and Peacock Premium Plus bundle $22.99/month.

India differs: Apple TV is included with iCloud+ there (starting at ₹75/month for iCloud+ 50GB), and new standalone Apple TV or Apple One subscriptions are no longer sold directly through Apple. Apple has also expanded iCloud+ inclusion of Apple TV to more countries, so availability varies. Prices and plans change by region, so always confirm the current offer on Apple's official pricing page (apple.com/apple-tv) before you pay.

Step 1: Create your Coinepay virtual card

Sign in to the Coinepay app or dashboard, open the cards section and create a virtual card. The card number, expiry date and CVV appear instantly. Top up enough to cover the monthly price above plus a small buffer for currency conversion, since Apple charges in your account's local currency. Because the subscription renews automatically, keep the balance funded each billing cycle to avoid a failed renewal.

Step 2: Sign up for Apple TV

  1. Go to tv.apple.com or open the Apple TV app on your device.
  2. Open the Apple TV tab and choose Sign In / Sign Up or Start Free Trial.
  3. Sign in to your existing Apple Account or create a new one with your real details.
  4. When prompted, confirm your billing details and add a valid payment method.
  5. Select Confirm and accept the terms if prompted.

Remember that Apple-billed subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. If you started the seven-day trial and do not want to be charged, Apple asks you to cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.

Step 3: Add your Coinepay card as the payment method

Where you add or edit a card depends on your device:

  • iPhone or iPad: go to Settings → [your name] → Payment & Shipping to manage your card and billing address, and Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions to manage the plan.
  • Windows (Apple TV app): go to [your name] → View My Account → Payment Information → Manage Payments for the card, and View My Account → Settings → Subscriptions → Manage for the plan.

Enter the Coinepay card number, expiry date and CVV, and make sure the billing address matches your Coinepay card profile. In the US, Apple lists methods such as Apple Account balance, Apple Card, Apple Cash, Apple Pay, most credit and debit cards, and PayPal; available methods differ by country and can change. In India, Apple specifically lists Mastercard, Visa, UPI and Apple Account balance.

Troubleshooting a declined card

If the payment fails, work through these common causes before trying again.

Insufficient balance or an unpaid order

Apple documents the messages "billing problem with previous purchase" and "verification required" as signs of an unpaid balance. Check your Coinepay balance and top up, then look for and settle any outstanding Apple order. Apple's advice for a declined payment is to add another method and clear any unpaid order.

Billing address mismatch

If the address on your Apple Account does not match the address linked to your Coinepay card, verification can fail. Update Payment & Shipping so the billing address matches your Coinepay card profile exactly.

3-D Secure / verification

Apple may trigger an extra verification step. Have your Coinepay app open to approve or view any confirmation prompt. If a one-time code or in-app approval is required, complete it promptly so the authorization does not time out.

Region and international checks

Apple TV content and availability vary by country, and the storefront is tied to your Apple Account country. Use your real country and billing details; do not try to disguise your location. Apple notes that your financial institution—not Apple—can explain a particular decline, and that the institution may need to permit international purchases. If the issue is on the card side, contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card is suitable for this merchant and region.

Apple's wording "most credit and debit cards" is not an acceptance guarantee for every card. If your card is declined after balance, address and verification are all correct, add another method or reach out to Coinepay support for help.

Managing, canceling and refunds

To cancel an Apple-billed subscription, go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Apple TV → Cancel Subscription, or use Apple's web account controls. If an Android subscription is billed through Google Play, cancel it in Google Play instead.

Canceling and refunding are different actions. Apple says some subscription purchases might qualify for a refund, requested at reportaproblem.apple.com, and eligibility varies by country or region—a refund is not automatic. Apple says a refund-request update usually takes 24–48 hours, and if approved, a refund to a card or other method may take up to 30 days to appear.

Keep your Coinepay card healthy

Since Apple TV renews automatically, set a reminder to keep your Coinepay virtual card funded before each billing date. You can review transactions and balance anytime in the 24/7 Coinepay dashboard or mobile app. For questions about your card, reach out through support or Telegram.

FAQ

Can I use a Coinepay virtual card for Apple TV?

You can add a Coinepay virtual card's number, expiry and CVV to your Apple Account's Payment & Shipping settings. Apple accepts "most credit and debit cards," which is not a guarantee for every card, so if you are unsure, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card is suitable before subscribing.

How much does Apple TV cost?

At the time of writing (October 2026), the standalone monthly price was US $14.99, UK £9.99, Canada C$14.99 and Australia A$15.99, among others, after a seven-day trial. Prices and plans vary by region and change over time, so check Apple's official pricing page at apple.com/apple-tv.

Why was my card declined at Apple TV checkout?

Common causes are insufficient balance, an unpaid previous order (shown as "billing problem with previous purchase" or "verification required"), a billing address mismatch, or a 3-D Secure step. Apple notes your financial institution can explain a specific decline. Ensure your Coinepay card is funded and the address matches, then retry or contact Coinepay support.

How do I cancel Apple TV and get a refund?

Cancel via Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Apple TV → Cancel Subscription, or Apple's web controls; cancel through Google Play if billed there. A refund is separate: request it at reportaproblem.apple.com. Eligibility varies by region, updates take 24–48 hours, and approved refunds can take up to 30 days.

Do I need to top up my Coinepay card every month?

Yes. Apple TV renews automatically until you cancel, so keep enough balance on your Coinepay virtual card to cover each renewal plus a small buffer for currency conversion, to avoid a failed payment.
