Render is a cloud platform for deploying web services, databases, cron jobs and static sites. If you want to upgrade your workspace or add paid compute, you'll need a card on file. This guide walks through how to add and pay with a Coinepay virtual card, from creating the card to confirming your plan, and what to check if a payment is declined.

Before you start: what you need

To pay for Render smoothly, have these ready:

  • A registered Coinepay account with identity verification (KYC) completed. You can create an account and finish verification in the app before you issue a card.
  • A Coinepay virtual card issued from your dashboard, so you have the card number, expiry date and CVV. You can manage cards in the iOS app or Android app.
  • Enough balance on the card to cover your plan plus any metered usage. Render invoices in arrears near the start of the following month, so keep funds available for charges that accrue through the month.
  • Your real billing details (name, address, country). Render uses Stripe to process payments, and the billing address you enter should match the details on your Coinepay account.

Render says it accepts all major credit and debit cards. It does not publish an exhaustive list of accepted brands or confirm support for PayPal, bank transfer or local methods at self-service checkout. If you are unsure whether your Coinepay card meets a specific requirement, contact Coinepay support to confirm before you buy.

Render plans at a glance

Render separates workspace plans from the per-service compute you choose for each deployment. At the time of writing (October 2026), the published workspace plans and prices in USD are:

Workspace planPrice (USD/month)
Hobby$0
Pro$25
Scale$499
EnterpriseCustom pricing

On top of the workspace fee, paid compute and metered usage are billed separately: compute is chosen per service and billed for running time (prorated by the second), and charges can also include metered bandwidth, build minutes and additional domains. Render publishes dollar amounts rather than a country-by-country price schedule, so always check the official Render pricing page for current figures before you subscribe.

Note: on April 23, 2026 Render introduced these plans, with Pro replacing the legacy Professional plan and Scale replacing Organization; all workspaces had moved to the new plans by August 1, 2026.

Step 1: Create your Render account

Sign-up on render.com is free, and Render's first-deploy tutorial requires no payment method for its free resources. You can sign in with email and password, or with Google, GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket. SAML SSO is available only on Scale and Enterprise. To get going, connect a repository, choose a service and a compute plan, then create the service.

Step 2: Issue a Coinepay virtual card

In your Coinepay app or dashboard, create a virtual card. Issuance is instant, so you'll see the card number, expiry date and CVV right away. A few tips:

  • Load enough balance to cover both the workspace fee and expected usage charges.
  • If you manage several projects or clients, you can issue a dedicated card per project and set a spending limit on each, which keeps Render charges separate from other subscriptions.
  • Keep the app handy during checkout in case Render triggers a 3-D Secure confirmation.

Step 3: Add the card to Render and choose a plan

To change or upgrade your workspace plan:

  1. Open the Billing page from the workspace dropdown in the Render Dashboard. This page holds your plan, payment-method settings, current usage charges and past invoices.
  2. Select Update Plan.
  3. Choose the plan you want (for example Pro or Scale), then review the change.
  4. Add your Coinepay card as the payment method, entering the card number, expiry, CVV and a billing address that matches your Coinepay account details.
  5. Confirm. The plan change takes effect immediately.

When you add a card, Render (via Stripe) may place a temporary authorization of up to US$1. This is released or cancelled rather than kept as a charge. Render may also run test authorizations against estimated usage, so don't be alarmed by a small pending hold.

Step 4: Confirm and keep funds available

Because Render bills monthly in arrears, your first real invoice arrives near the beginning of the next calendar month, and accrued unpaid charges are also invoiced if you cancel or terminate. Keep enough balance on your Coinepay card to cover the recurring workspace fee plus any metered usage so a renewal isn't declined.

Troubleshooting: why a card gets declined

Render's own notice is simply "Your card has been declined", which doesn't tell you the cause. Work through these common reasons:

Insufficient balance

The most frequent cause. Confirm your Coinepay card has enough to cover the plan, the small authorization hold and expected usage. Top up in the app and retry. Remember that usage accrues through the month, so a card that worked at sign-up can be short at renewal.

Billing address mismatch

Stripe checks the billing details you enter against the card. Make sure the name, address and country on the Render payment form match what's on your Coinepay account. Even a small discrepancy can trigger a decline.

3-D Secure / verification

Some payments ask for an extra confirmation step. Keep your Coinepay app open and approve any prompt or notification promptly so the authorization completes.

Merchant region and card checks

Users in some countries (for example reports from Morocco and India) have seen repeated declines, but the cause of those reports is unconfirmed and isn't proof that any particular card type is categorically blocked. Render's terms exclude sanctioned persons and embargoed locations, including Crimea, the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, Cuba, Iran, North Korea and Syria, and require users outside the US to comply with local law. Render does not publish a definitive card-decline-reason list. If your card is declined and balance and address are correct, contact Coinepay support to check that the card is active and suitable for this merchant, and review your details with Render.

Repeated failures

Render may retry a failed payment, and unpaid amounts can lead to service suspension or account termination. Resolve a decline quickly to avoid losing running services.

Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel your account at any time, and downgrading a workspace is done through Billing → Update Plan, taking effect immediately. Render's terms provide no refund for cancellation or unused subscription time, and you're responsible for exporting your content before termination. Any accrued unpaid charges are invoiced on cancellation, so make sure your Coinepay card can cover the final bill.

Need help?

For card issuance, balances, limits and whether your card suits a specific merchant, use the Coinepay dashboard, reach out through support or our Telegram channel. For plan details, compute pricing and invoices, check the official Render pricing page and your Render Billing dashboard.

FAQ

Does Render accept virtual cards?

Render says it accepts all major credit and debit cards and processes payments through Stripe. It does not publish a full list of accepted brands. If you're unsure your Coinepay card meets a requirement, contact Coinepay support to confirm before you buy.

Why does Render show a small $1 charge when I add my card?

When you add a card, Render (via Stripe) may place a temporary authorization of up to US$1 to verify it. This is released or cancelled rather than kept as a charge. Render may also run test authorizations against estimated usage.

How much does a Render workspace cost?

At the time of writing (October 2026), the published workspace prices in USD are Hobby $0, Pro $25, Scale $499 and Enterprise custom, with paid compute and metered usage billed separately. Check the official Render pricing page for current figures.

My Coinepay card was declined on Render. What should I check?

Confirm you have enough balance for the plan plus the authorization hold and usage, make sure the billing address matches your Coinepay details, and approve any 3-D Secure prompt in the app. If it still fails, contact Coinepay support to verify the card is active and suitable.

Can I get a refund if I cancel Render?

Render's terms provide no refund for cancellation or unused subscription time. Downgrading is done through Billing → Update Plan and takes effect immediately, and any accrued unpaid charges are still invoiced, so keep your card funded for the final bill.
