Kinsta is a managed WordPress hosting provider that bills in US dollars through Stripe. If you want to keep your hosting spend separate from your main account, a Coinepay virtual card gives you an instant card number, expiry date and CVV you can enter at Kinsta checkout. This guide walks through what you need, how sign-up and billing work, and how to troubleshoot a declined card.
Before you start
A few things make the checkout smoother:
- A verified Coinepay account. Register at Coinepay and complete identity verification (KYC) before you try to create a card. Card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions, and some services are not available in every jurisdiction.
- A funded virtual card. Create a card in the Coinepay app or dashboard and note the number, expiry and CVV. Keep enough balance for the plan you choose plus Kinsta's temporary verification hold (more on that below).
- Your real billing details. Use the name and billing address that match your Coinepay account. Mismatched details are a common cause of declines.
- A device for 3-D Secure. Keep your phone handy in case the payment triggers an extra verification step.
Kinsta accepts Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express and Discover for card payments, and offers wire transfer or ACH for annual subscriptions through its Billing team. It does not accept PayPal or checks. Because Coinepay does not publish its card network here, confirm your card type before you buy: contact Coinepay support to check your card meets Kinsta's accepted-network requirement.
Choose a Kinsta plan
On the Kinsta pricing page, WordPress plans are grouped under Business, Agency and Enterprise. The Business group includes the established Single/WP plans and a newer bandwidth-priced range (Launch, Launch Plus, Build, Expand, Scale and Lead). Since October 1, 2025, Kinsta has let you choose bandwidth-based or visits-based pricing.
At the time of writing (October 2026), published USD prices (before applicable tax) include:
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly |
|---|---|---|
| Single 20GB / Single 35k | $35 | $350 |
| Launch | $35 | $350 |
| Launch Plus | $59 | $590 |
| Build | $69 | $690 |
| Expand | $99 | $990 |
| WP 2 | $70 | $700 |
| Scale | $169 | $1,690 |
| Agency 20 | $340 | $3,400 |
Higher Single tiers, WP multi-site plans, Agency and the Enterprise custom plan (which Kinsta describes as starting at $500/month) run well above these. Prices and plan names change, so always confirm the current figure on the official Kinsta pricing page before you pay. Charges are in USD; your card issuer converts them into your currency, and local-currency checkout amounts are not separately published.
Step-by-step: sign up and pay
- Pick your plan and interval. From the Kinsta pricing page, select a plan and choose monthly or yearly billing.
- Enter account details. Kinsta's sign-up follows a three-step sequence: account details → billing details → confirmation. Provide your name, email and a password, and agree to the terms.
- Review the estimate. Before you move on, Kinsta shows your plan, any add-ons, the estimated total and the renewal. Check these, then select Continue to billing.
- Enter your Coinepay card. Type the card number, expiry date and CVV from your Coinepay app. Enter the billing address exactly as it appears on your Coinepay account.
- Approve verification if prompted. Kinsta places a temporary $1 card-verification hold when a new card is added, and uses Stripe to process it. If 3-D Secure appears, approve the request through your Coinepay app or notification.
- Confirm. Complete the purchase. If your plan qualifies for a first month free, Kinsta still collects card details: the first 30 days carry no plan charge, billing starts in month two, and overages can still be charged.
Manage your card and billing in MyKinsta
Everything after purchase lives under Company settings in MyKinsta:
- Company settings → My Plan — change or cancel your plan (only the Company Owner can cancel).
- Payment Methods — add, remove or set a default card. If your default card cannot be charged, Kinsta attempts other saved cards, so adding a backup helps avoid a service interruption.
- Billing Details — update your billing address; keep it matching your Coinepay card details.
- Invoices — view invoices and pay an unpaid invoice.
Troubleshooting a declined card
Kinsta documents several decline reasons: insufficient funds, lost or expired cards, issuer declines, and cards blocked for UK or international transactions. The exact wording shown at checkout can vary. Work through these causes:
Insufficient balance
Make sure your Coinepay card holds enough for the full plan amount in USD plus Kinsta's $1 verification hold. Currency conversion by your issuer can make the charged amount slightly different from the listed USD figure, so leave a small buffer. Top up in the Coinepay app and try again.
Billing address mismatch
Stripe checks the billing address against your card record. Confirm the address in Kinsta's Billing Details matches the address on file for your Coinepay card. Use your real details — never enter an invented address to get around a check.
3-D Secure not completed
If an authentication prompt appears and is missed or times out, the payment fails. Retry with your phone ready and approve the Coinepay verification promptly.
Issuer or region block
Kinsta lists cards blocked for international transactions as a possible cause and advises contacting your card issuer when the bank declines a payment. If your Coinepay card is declined this way, reach out to Coinepay support to confirm your card is enabled for international and USD transactions before retrying.
Verification hold confusion
The $1 charge you may see is a temporary verification hold, not a duplicate payment. Check your Coinepay transaction history; if anything looks wrong, contact support.
Eligibility and refunds
Kinsta's terms exclude registration or use by people covered by its stated embargo and sanctions restrictions, with examples including Iran, Syria, Cuba, North Korea, the Russian Federation and specified regions of Ukraine. Coinepay likewise does not serve sanctioned persons or residents of comprehensively sanctioned jurisdictions. Use the service only where both Kinsta and Coinepay are available to you.
A qualifying first-time customer who cancels within the applicable 30-day money-back period can receive a WordPress plan-fee refund; dedicated-server fees, one-time fees and overages are excluded, and outstanding amounts can be deducted. For an eligible free-first-month plan, Kinsta says the guarantee starts when the free period ends. After that window, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — including on annual plans — and unused account credits are not redeemable for cash.

It does not accept PayPal or checks. Confirm your Coinepay card meets the accepted-network requirement with Coinepay support before you buy.
Why was my Coinepay card declined at Kinsta checkout?
Common causes are insufficient balance, a billing address that doesn't match your card, an incomplete 3-D Secure step, or a card not enabled for international or USD transactions. Check each, and contact Coinepay support if your bank is declining the payment.
