Running ads across several accounts can make it hard to tell which account produced a charge or which card needs attention after a decline. One practical approach is to assign a dedicated Coinepay virtual card to each ad account. The important distinction is between using separate cards across separate accounts and adding several cards to one account: ad platforms have their own rules for primary cards, backup cards and prepayments.

Decide what each card is for

Start with a simple mapping: one advertiser, ad account and designated card per row. Coinepay lets businesses issue a dedicated virtual card for each ad account, such as a Google Ads or TikTok Ads account, and set custom spending limits per card. This can make account-level spending easier to organize, but an issuer-side limit does not change the ad platform’s own budget or billing rules.

If you instead want multiple cards inside one ad account, check that platform’s payment settings first. Adding extra cards does not necessarily divide charges between them. A secondary card may serve only as a backup, while deliberate use of another card may require a separate prepayment.

What to prepare before adding cards

  • A verified Coinepay account. Register and complete identity verification before using card services. Card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions. You can manage cards through the Coinepay dashboard or mobile app.
  • Authorized ad-account access. Confirm that you have permission to manage billing for each account. For agency work, establish which business owns the ad account and who is authorized to use its payment method.
  • Accurate billing information. Use your real identity and billing details, consistent with the advertiser’s records. Have any business documents or payment-authorization records needed for an account review available.
  • A payment plan for each account. Check the billing country, currency, payment setting and methods displayed in the actual ad account. Those factors can affect which payment options are available.
  • A secure tracking method. Record the ad platform, account ID, card label, responsible team member and review date. Do not put full card credentials or CVVs in a shared spreadsheet.

Before relying on automatic billing, check the platform’s card-type restrictions. Google Ads does not accept prepaid cards for automatic payments, and TikTok excludes prepaid cards from its automatic-payment option. A virtual card is not automatically a prepaid or single-use card. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the relevant platform requirement before you buy. You must also follow any country, account-eligibility and authentication requirements shown by the ad platform; a card cannot bypass them.

Set up a dedicated Coinepay card for each ad account

  1. Register and verify your identity. If you are new to Coinepay, create an account and complete the required verification. Open the self-service dashboard or Coinepay mobile app once card services are available to you.
  2. Issue a card for the first account. Create a virtual card and label it in your own records using the advertiser and ad-account ID. Coinepay provides the card number, expiry date and CVV for online entry. Keep those details in the secure card interface rather than copying them into your account map.
  3. Set a custom spending limit. Choose a card limit that fits the intended ad spend and the way that platform bills. Consider whether an individual charge or a card-verification attempt might need room under the limit. Check the controls and applicable limits shown in your Coinepay account rather than assuming an ad-account budget controls card authorization.
  4. Repeat for each legitimate account. Create a separate card, assign a clear label and record its owner before entering its details on the corresponding platform. Keep the mapping current when an account or team member changes.
  5. Add and verify the method on the ad platform. Enter the card details in that account’s official billing area, complete any requested authentication and check the resulting payment-method status. Avoid repeatedly retrying a failed card without identifying the cause.

Add cards in Google Ads and TikTok Ads

Google Ads

For an existing Google Ads account, open Billing → Settings → Payment methods → Add a payment method. Save the card and, if this is the card intended for routine charges, choose Actions → Set as primary payment method where that option is available. Repeat in each separate account using its assigned card.

Google calls its main payment settings postpay (formerly automatic payments), prepay (formerly manual payments) and monthly invoicing. Available settings depend on the account. A postpay account may hold multiple methods, but it can designate only one backup; Google attempts that backup if the primary fails. Ask Coinepay support about card eligibility before trying to use a Coinepay card as a backup. Merely adding several cards does not tell Google to rotate charges. If your aim is to pay portions of one postpay account’s costs using different methods, review Google’s documented prepayment options in that account instead.

Google documents a one-time-use virtual credit card option for certain manual payments, but that rule should not be read as approval of every virtual card for every Google Ads setting. Check the payment methods offered for your account and confirm any card-type requirement before adding a card.

TikTok Ads Manager

For a TikTok ad account that is not managed by Business Center, go to Tools → Settings → Billing → Payment → Add payment method. TikTok allows multiple payment methods and provides a Make primary action. For an account managed by TikTok Business Center, manage its automatic-payment method under Finance → Payment management. You need Business Center admin access or the financial-manager permission specified by TikTok.

With TikTok automatic payment, the platform charges when the billing threshold or bill date is reached, whichever comes first. TikTok may also make a refundable card-verification charge when a method is added. Check its current instructions and the transaction shown in your account if that charge needs investigation. Confirm card eligibility with Coinepay support before relying on automatic payment.

Keep the account map accurate and compliant

Review your card-to-account map whenever you launch a new account, replace a card or change who manages billing. Compare Coinepay card activity with each platform’s billing records, and investigate charges against the wrong account rather than assuming the platform will distribute them as intended. Restrict access to card details and remove outdated payment methods according to the platform’s rules.

Use only cards owned by, or authorized for, the advertiser. Google flags patterns such as suddenly adding several new cards, repeated declines or chargebacks, and unclear card ownership or billing details as possible suspicious-payment signals. Create multiple ad accounts only for legitimate business needs: Google prohibits creating additional accounts to evade a suspension. If an ad platform requests proof of identity, business ownership or payment authorization, provide genuine documents through its official review process.

Troubleshoot a card that will not add or charge

  • The card is declined: Check the available funds, card expiry, entered details and relevant spending controls in Coinepay. Then check whether the ad platform offers that payment option for your account’s billing country, currency and setting. For an unexplained decline, contact Coinepay support with the transaction details shown in your account, without sending a CVV.
  • The wrong card receives charges: Check which method is marked primary. On Google postpay, distinguish a primary method from its backup; on TikTok, check the Make primary selection. Do not expect multiple stored cards to split charges automatically.
  • Authentication does not complete: Follow the issuer authentication prompt if one appears. In the EEA, additional authentication may be required when adding a Google Ads card or making a payment. For a TikTok 3-D Secure page that fails to load, check browser pop-up blocking and retry through the normal sign-in flow; contact support if authentication still fails.
  • Payments trigger a review or restriction: Stop repeated card swaps and declines. Check the platform notice, verify the billing details and respond through its official review process with genuine authorization records. Do not create another ad account to get around a restriction.

If your payment controls or the platform’s accepted methods are unclear, check the current settings in both accounts before launching campaigns. Coinepay services may not be available in every jurisdiction, and ad-platform rules can differ by account.

FAQ

Can I use a different Coinepay virtual card for each ad account?

Businesses can issue a dedicated Coinepay virtual card for each ad account and set a custom spending limit per card. Check the payment methods and eligibility rules shown in each ad account before adding it.

Will Google Ads split charges between multiple cards I add?

No. Adding cards does not instruct Google Ads to rotate charges. A postpay account uses a primary method and can designate one backup; review its prepayment options if you need to pay with different methods.

Where do I change the primary payment card in TikTok Ads?

For an account not managed by Business Center, go to Tools → Settings → Billing → Payment and use Make primary. For a Business Center-managed account, use Finance → Payment management with the required permissions.

What should I do if an ad platform rejects my virtual card?

Check the entered details, funds, spending controls, authentication prompt and payment options available to that account. Review any card-type restriction, then contact Coinepay support if you need help confirming eligibility or investigating a decline.
