You can enter a Coinepay virtual card at Zoho Books checkout when a card payment option is available for your edition and region. This guide covers what to prepare, how to upgrade one Zoho Books organization, and what to check if the payment does not go through.

Before you subscribe

Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using its card services. You can manage your card through the Coinepay app or 24/7 self-service dashboard. Once issued, the virtual card has a card number, expiry date and CVV for online checkout. Check your available funds and any applicable card settings in the app before starting. If you need to confirm a card requirement or a service available in your jurisdiction, contact Coinepay support.

You will also need your real company name, email, contact number and a password to sign up for Zoho Books. Have your genuine billing address ready. Use details that accurately describe you or your business; do not change your location or billing information to try to access another region’s prices or payment options.

Zoho Books has six tiers: Free, Standard, Professional, Premium, Elite and Ultimate. Zoho advertises a 14-day trial before you choose a subscription. Compare the features and the pricing for your country or edition on the official Zoho Books pricing page. Prices, taxes, available checkout methods and the currency associated with an edition can differ by region.

For a concrete comparison, at the time of writing (October 2026), Zoho’s US pricing page displayed Standard at $20 per organization per month when billed monthly, or a $15 monthly equivalent when billed annually; Professional was $50 or $40 on the same respective bases. Those listed amounts excluded local taxes. Check the official Zoho Books pricing page for the price that applies when you buy. The Free tier has country-specific eligibility rules: the US page, for example, listed an annual-revenue ceiling of $50,000. Do not apply that threshold to another edition.

Sign up and pay for Zoho Books

  1. Create your Zoho Books account. Visit the official Zoho Books site and select the sign-up or trial option. Enter your company name, email, contact number and password, then follow the on-screen account setup. Choose the edition appropriate to your actual business location and requirements.
  2. Set up the right organization. If your Zoho account has more than one Books organization, switch to the one you intend to subscribe to before upgrading. A subscription payment upgrades one organization, not every organization under the account.
  3. Open subscription management. In Zoho Books, go to Settings → Manage Subscription under Organization. This opens Zoho Store, where you can select the plan and any add-ons you need.
  4. Review the order. Check the organization, plan, billing period, add-ons, displayed currency, taxes and amount due before confirming the order details. Annual billing shows a monthly equivalent on some pricing pages, but the checkout amount reflects the billing period you choose.
  5. Enter billing and card details. Provide your real billing address and the Coinepay card number, expiry date and CVV. Use the checkout’s card option only if it is offered for your region and order. Review the details carefully, then select Make Payment. Complete any authentication step presented during checkout rather than closing the page.
  6. Verify the result. Return to Settings → Manage Subscription and check the organization’s plan and payment status. Keep the Zoho order confirmation and any payment reference. If checkout reports a failure but you see a card transaction, investigate its status before attempting another payment.

Zoho’s general subscription-payment information names Visa, Mastercard and American Express, as well as PayPal where available; it also lists bank transfer for yearly subscriptions. Zoho Store offers other region-specific methods, such as UPI in India. These options do not establish whether a particular Coinepay card will be accepted. Also, the card networks a business can enable to collect customer invoice payments through Zoho Payments are not necessarily the options for paying that business’s Zoho Books subscription.

If your Zoho Books card payment is declined

A failed checkout does not, by itself, identify the cause. A Zoho community user has reported seeing “Payment subscription failed” during an upgrade, but that report does not establish why the payment failed or whether a reported charge ultimately settled. Use the order status and your card transaction history to guide your next step.

  • Insufficient available funds: Compare your available card funds with the full amount Zoho displays at checkout, including any taxes and the selected billing period. An annually billed plan may require payment for the annual term rather than just its advertised monthly equivalent. Check the Coinepay app for your balance and relevant card settings before retrying.
  • Billing address or card-entry mismatch: Re-enter the number, expiry date and CVV, and check that the billing address and postal code accurately match your billing information. If you have already saved an address in Zoho Store, review it rather than repeatedly submitting the same details.
  • Authentication or 3-D Secure issue: If checkout presents a verification prompt, follow it and wait for the result. If the prompt expires or cannot be completed, check the Coinepay app for any relevant card notification or setting. Contact Coinepay support if you need help determining whether your card can complete the requested authentication.
  • Edition or merchant-region check: Zoho Store’s currency and payment options depend on region and, for Zoho Books, the selected edition. Check that the organization’s edition and your genuine billing details are consistent. If Zoho indicates that the card or payment method is not eligible for that checkout, ask Zoho what its requirement is, then contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets it before you buy. Do not substitute an inaccurate address or another person’s details.
  • Unclear charge or repeated decline: Do not keep submitting the order while its status is uncertain. Check Manage Subscription, your Zoho order information and the transaction in Coinepay. Give Zoho the error text and order reference when asking about the subscription; give Coinepay support the relevant card transaction details when asking about the payment.

These are troubleshooting checks, not a list of official Zoho Books subscription decline codes. In particular, Zoho Payments documentation about declines on customer payments should not be treated as a diagnosis of a Zoho Store subscription checkout.

Manage your payment method or subscription

To update saved details, open Settings → Manage Subscription in Books. In Zoho Store, use Your Store Details → Payment Method to change the saved payment method, or Your Store Details → Billing Details to update billing information. Check that the changes apply to the intended organization before its next payment.

Zoho says subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. To move off a paid Books plan, go to Settings → Manage Subscription → Change Plan → Free Plan → Downgrade, then choose whether cancellation takes effect immediately or at the end of the current billing cycle. Zoho says Books data remains viewable in read-only mode after cancellation. Review the consequences shown in your account before confirming.

If you are seeking a refund, check Zoho’s current refund policy and contact Zoho rather than assuming that canceling issues one. At the time of writing (October 2026), Zoho described a full-refund window for dissatisfied subscribers within the first month of a monthly purchase or the first 45 days of an annual purchase, after giving Zoho an opportunity to address the issue. For renewals, it listed a request window of five business days for monthly subscriptions or 15 days for annual subscriptions. Confirm the current terms with Zoho for your order.

Need help before paying?

If checkout presents a card eligibility or authentication requirement you cannot verify, ask Coinepay support about your card before placing the order. For a question about the Zoho Books edition, organization, invoice or subscription status, contact Zoho through its official support channels. Card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions, and some Coinepay services are not available in every jurisdiction.
