Meta AI stays free for everyday use, but Meta now packages its larger AI allowances inside a paid subscription called Meta One. There is no separately priced "Meta AI" plan to buy; instead you pick a Meta One tier and get expanded AI features alongside it. This guide explains what you need, how the sign-up and checkout flow works, and how to pay with a Coinepay virtual card issued with an instant card number, expiry date and CVV.
One important thing to read first: Meta One is purchased inside a supported mobile app, and the actual payment is handled by the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store, not by Meta directly. That matters for which cards are accepted, as explained below.
What you need before you start
- A verified Coinepay account. Register at Coinepay and complete identity verification (KYC) before you try to add a card anywhere. You can manage everything from the iOS app, the Android app or the 24/7 dashboard.
- A Coinepay virtual card with enough balance to cover the plan plus any store authorisation hold.
- An eligible Meta account. Meta One is rolling out, so you must confirm the offer appears for your account and location in-app.
- Your real billing details. Use the name and address tied to your Coinepay account and your app-store account — do not enter invented information.
Meta One plans and prices
Meta publishes US-dollar reference prices, but it says final prices vary by region, app and account, so always check the offer shown to you in-app or on Meta's official pages. At the time of writing (October 2026), Meta's published monthly US reference prices were:
| Plan | US reference price / month |
|---|---|
| WhatsApp Plus | $2.99 |
| Instagram Plus | $3.99 |
| Facebook Plus | $3.99 |
| Meta One Core | $7.99 |
| Meta One Premium | $19.99 |
| Essential (creator/business, starting) | $14.99 |
| Advanced (starting) | $49.99 |
| Expert (starting) | $149 |
| Max (starting) | $499 |
For expanded AI use, Meta One Core and Meta One Premium are the individual bundles, with Premium offering the greater AI allowance. Meta describes the allowances as "more" rather than listing exact image or video quotas, so don't assume a specific number. Linked WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram accounts can receive bundle benefits through the same Accounts Center (which Meta is gradually renaming Meta Account).
Step-by-step: subscribe and pay
The documented path on an eligible WhatsApp account is below. The equivalent option lives under the subscription settings of the Meta app you are using.
- Open your Coinepay app first and check the virtual card has sufficient balance for the plan and the store's authorisation.
- In WhatsApp, go to Settings → Subscriptions → Meta One.
- Review plans and choose the tier you want (for AI, Core or Premium), then tap Continue.
- Review payment information. On Android this purchase is processed by Google Play; on iOS it is processed through your Apple Account. Add or select your Coinepay virtual card as the payment method in the store if that card type is supported there (see the next section).
- Confirm purchase. If your card uses 3-D Secure, approve the prompt in your Coinepay app to finish.
Meta One renews monthly on the purchase-date anniversary unless you cancel. If you start through an optional trial or promotion, it converts to a paid monthly subscription when the trial ends, so set a reminder if you don't intend to continue.
Important: app-store card rules
Meta does not publish a universal Meta One card list — accepted methods depend on the store that processes checkout.
- Google Play (US): Google lists American Express, Discover, JCB, Mastercard and Visa credit/debit cards, plus options such as PayPal, Play balance, Cash App Pay and Venmo. Google states that virtual credit cards are not supported. If you intend to pay through Google Play, this restriction applies regardless of which service provider issued the card. Contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets Google Play's requirement before you try to buy.
- Apple Account (US): Apple lists account balance, Apple Card, Apple Cash, Apple Pay, most credit/debit cards and PayPal. Apple gives no Meta One-specific brand list and says the card issuer, not Apple, can explain a particular decline.
Because the store decides what it accepts, check your region's app-store payment options and verify your Coinepay card details in the Coinepay app before checkout. If one store path doesn't accept your card, the other store, or an app-store balance you top up by a supported method, may be an alternative.
Troubleshooting a declined card
Google Play documents several card errors and likely causes. The most common ones to check:
"Unable to process payment: low card balance"
This points to insufficient funds. Open your Coinepay app, confirm the available balance covers the plan plus any temporary authorisation hold, top up if needed, and retry.
"Correct this card info or try another card" / billing-address mismatch
Google and Apple both flag billing-address mismatches. Make sure the billing name and address saved in the store exactly match the details on your Coinepay account. Re-enter the card number, expiry and CVV carefully from your Coinepay app.
"Unable to complete transaction: expired card"
Check the expiry date shown for your virtual card in Coinepay and update the stored card if it has changed.
3-D Secure not completing
If the purchase stalls after you confirm, a 3-D Secure verification may be waiting. Open the Coinepay app to approve the prompt, then retry the purchase in Meta/your store.
Issuer restrictions or verification
Google lists issuer restrictions and account verification among possible causes; Apple notes an unpaid earlier order or a restriction on international purchases can also block checkout. Clear any unpaid app-store balance, and if a charge keeps failing with your balance confirmed as sufficient, contact Coinepay support to check whether anything on the card side is blocking the transaction.
Manage, change or cancel the subscription
For a WhatsApp-purchased subscription, update your card under Settings → Subscriptions → Meta One → Payment method. Payment details and purchase history are also managed in the Apple or Google account you used to buy it.
To cancel on WhatsApp, go to Settings → Subscriptions → Meta One → Cancel subscription → Complete cancellation; an App Store or Google Play purchase can also be cancelled through the purchasing store account. Cancelling stops renewal but keeps benefits until the end of the paid period. Meta says there is no credit or refund for cancellation unless required by law, and recommends cancelling at least 24 hours before renewal.
Availability notes
Meta's September 2026 announcement describes the plans as available globally, but WhatsApp's purchase help still describes limited testing that is not available to every location or account, so you must confirm your own offer in-app. On WhatsApp, Core and Premium are limited to eligible locations, supported AI countries and phone numbers, and to WhatsApp Messenger rather than WhatsApp Business, with the AI experiences currently supporting English only. Coinepay's virtual-asset-related services are not available to residents of mainland China, and some services are not available in every jurisdiction. Use your real identity and billing details and follow each service's terms.

FAQ
Is there a standalone Meta AI subscription?
No. Meta AI remains free for everyday use, and the larger AI allowances are offered through the Meta One subscription. For expanded AI, Meta One Core or Meta One Premium are the individual bundles, with Premium offering the greater allowance.
Can I pay for Meta One with a Coinepay virtual card?
It depends on the store that processes checkout. Meta One is bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and each store decides which cards it accepts. Google Play states that virtual credit cards are not supported, so check your region's store options and contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the requirement before buying.
Why was my card declined at checkout?
Google Play documents causes such as low card balance, an expired card, a billing-address mismatch, issuer restrictions and account verification. Confirm your balance and card details in the Coinepay app, make sure the billing address matches, approve any 3-D Secure prompt, and retry.
How much does Meta One cost?
Prices vary by region, app and account. At the time of writing (October 2026) Meta's US reference prices were Core $7.99 and Premium $19.99 per month, among others, but you should check the offer shown in-app or on Meta's official pages before subscribing.
How do I cancel Meta One and will I get a refund?
On WhatsApp, go to Settings → Subscriptions → Meta One → Cancel subscription → Complete cancellation, or cancel through the App Store or Google Play account used to buy it. Cancelling keeps benefits until the paid period ends. Meta says there is no refund for cancellation unless required by law, and recommends cancelling at least 24 hours before renewal.
