You can use a virtual card to attempt payment for a HubSpot subscription through HubSpot’s card checkout. This guide covers what to check before buying, how to reach checkout, and what to do if a payment is declined. Card acceptance depends on HubSpot’s checkout and payment checks; having a Coinepay card does not guarantee approval.
Before you start
- Set up your Coinepay card. Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification (KYC) before using card services. Once your card is issued, its number, expiry date, and CVV are available through Coinepay. Check your available balance and any relevant card settings in the Coinepay app or self-service dashboard before paying.
- Use your real account and billing details. Have the name, company information, and billing address needed for your HubSpot purchase ready. Enter accurate details that correspond to your payment information; do not use an invented address or identity to get past a checkout check.
- Know who can approve the purchase. If you are upgrading an existing HubSpot account or changing its billing details, make sure you have the appropriate account access. HubSpot requires billing-admin permission for billing changes.
- Review the full commitment. Check the selected billing cycle, contract term, seat count, taxes, any one-time fees, and the amount due at checkout. A monthly payment schedule does not necessarily mean a month-to-month commitment.
Choose the right HubSpot subscription
HubSpot’s Customer Platform lists Free, Starter, Professional, and Enterprise. Its paid entry-level bundle is also presented as Starter Customer Platform. You can instead compare individual products, including Marketing Hub, Sales Hub, Service Hub, Content Hub, Data Hub, Smart CRM, and Revenue Hub. Revenue Hub’s pricing lists Free tools, Professional, and Enterprise rather than a standalone Starter edition.
The Free plan can be started without a credit card. For a paid plan, use HubSpot’s official pricing page to confirm the current price for your region and the product you actually need. As one reference point, at the time of writing (October 2026), the US-dollar Customer Platform page showed Starter from $7 per seat per month as a displayed limited-time new-customer price, alongside $20 per seat per month. That example is not a quote for your account: promotions, billing terms, seats, taxes, and other charges can change the checkout total.
For marketing teams, check whether you are buying the Customer Platform bundle or Marketing Hub specifically. HubSpot may also show required onboarding charges for higher-tier products. Read the order summary rather than assuming the headline monthly price is everything you will pay.
How to sign up and pay with your Coinepay card
- Create or open your HubSpot account. On HubSpot’s official site, sign up using your name and email, Google login, or Apple ID, or sign in to your existing account. You can begin with Free tools without entering a card.
- Find the upgrade options. In your HubSpot account, open the account-name menu and select Pricing & Features. Compare the available products and tiers against the features, users, and commitment your business needs.
- Choose a purchase route. Select Buy now for guided online checkout, if offered for your selection, or Talk to Sales for a sales-assisted purchase. A sales-assisted purchase uses a quote link: review its commitment, billing cycle, costs, renewal information, and terms, then select Checkout. Guest checkout may be available if the sales representative has enabled it.
- Check the order before entering payment. Confirm the account and company information, seats, billing frequency, total due now, and any onboarding or other one-time charges. HubSpot’s order total can also include taxes or prorated adjustments.
- Enter the Coinepay card details. Where HubSpot offers card payment for your order, enter the card number, expiry date, and CVV shown in Coinepay. Supply your real billing details and complete any authentication requested by the checkout or card issuer. For a quote, accept the terms and sign if required.
- Verify the outcome. Wait for HubSpot to confirm the purchase rather than repeatedly submitting payment. Check your HubSpot subscription and transaction records, and review the corresponding card activity in Coinepay. If the result is unclear, check those records before trying again.
HubSpot documents credit and debit cards as subscription-payment methods, as well as ACH bank debit for US-based customers and SEPA bank accounts for eligible Europe- and UK-based accounts paying in euros. These alternatives have their own eligibility requirements; they do not establish whether a particular virtual card will pass HubSpot’s checks.
If HubSpot declines the card
Start with the information shown at checkout or in any HubSpot payment email. The exact wording of a card error can vary, so use the cause you can verify rather than assuming every decline means the same thing.
Insufficient available balance
Compare the available card balance in Coinepay with HubSpot’s full amount due now, not just a per-seat or monthly headline price. Taxes, onboarding fees, one-time charges, and prorated adjustments may affect that total. If needed, use the funding options shown in your Coinepay app, then check the balance before making another attempt. For questions about your card or funding options, contact Coinepay support.
Billing details do not match
Recheck the card number, expiry date, CVV, and billing information you entered. Correct typing mistakes and use your real billing address and company details. If a saved card record may be outdated, HubSpot advises re-adding the card. You can find saved methods under the account-name menu → Account & Billing → Payment Methods, provided you have the necessary permission.
Authentication was not completed
Do not dismiss an authentication prompt while checkout is in progress. HubSpot notes that an EU-issued card may require bank authentication and that incomplete authentication can lead to a payment-declined email. If you encounter a 3-D Secure or similar verification step, follow the instructions presented and check whether you have a way to complete it for your card. Contact Coinepay support if you cannot complete a card-related verification; do not assume a failed prompt can be bypassed.
Merchant or regional payment checks
A merchant or payment provider may apply checks connected to the card, account, or transaction region. HubSpot also notes specific rules affecting some Indian-issued cards: automated subscription transactions over INR 15,000 can require approval, and certain manual payments from customers outside India may be declined. These rules do not mean a Coinepay card qualifies for any particular regional checkout. If HubSpot indicates a card or region restriction, ask HubSpot which payment requirements apply and contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets them before you buy. Use accurate account information rather than trying to work around a restriction.
For an otherwise unexplained subscription-payment decline, HubSpot recommends asking the card provider to authorize the charge, re-adding the card, trying a private browser window, and then contacting HubSpot support. Check whether a previous attempt went through before retrying. HubSpot’s rules for businesses collecting payments from their own buyers are separate from the rules for paying a HubSpot subscription, so do not rely on buyer-payment card lists or regional availability as proof that your subscription payment will be accepted.
Manage the card, invoices, and renewal
In HubSpot, open the account-name menu → Account & Billing. Use Subscriptions to review the term, next bill date, attached payment method, and auto-renewal; Payment Methods to review saved cards or bank accounts; and Transactions for invoices and payments. Billing changes require billing-admin permission. Keep enough funds available for a scheduled card charge, and verify the amount and date shown in your account rather than assuming they will match the first payment.
If you do not want a paid subscription to renew, turn off auto-renewal under Account & Billing → Subscriptions before the current commitment ends. HubSpot says a paid subscription normally continues until the end of that term; switching off renewal does not itself end the current commitment or generally produce a refund of unused fees. Review the terms attached to your purchase before committing.

FAQ
Can I start using HubSpot without entering a card?
Yes. HubSpot lists a Free plan that does not require a credit card. A paid upgrade has its own checkout and terms.
Where do I change the card used for my HubSpot subscription?
Open the account-name menu, then Account & Billing → Payment Methods. Check Subscriptions for the method attached to your subscription. Billing changes require billing-admin permission.
Why was my Coinepay card declined by HubSpot?
Check the full amount due and available balance, card and billing details, and any authentication request. If a card or regional rule is indicated, confirm the requirement with HubSpot and contact Coinepay support about your card.
Does monthly billing mean I can cancel HubSpot at any time?
Not necessarily. Check your contract term and renewal details in HubSpot’s checkout or under Account & Billing → Subscriptions. Monthly billing does not by itself create a monthly commitment.
