You can enter a Coinepay virtual card at Ahrefs checkout when subscribing to an eligible plan, but payment approval depends on Ahrefs’ checkout requirements and the card transaction. This guide covers what to prepare, how to sign up, and what to check if a payment fails.

Before you start

To use Coinepay card services, you must register and complete identity verification. Once your virtual card is issued, its card number, expiry date, and CVV are available through Coinepay. You can manage the card in the 24/7 self-service dashboard or the mobile app for iOS and Android.

Before visiting Ahrefs, make sure you have:

  • Your Coinepay virtual card details and access to your Coinepay account in case you need to review a payment.
  • Enough available funds for the amount shown at checkout, including any applicable taxes or fees. Check the amount you are about to authorize rather than relying only on a plan’s advertised price.
  • The email address you want to use to access Ahrefs. Ahrefs says it activates access for the email entered during payment.
  • Your real billing details, entered consistently wherever Ahrefs requests them. Do not use an invented address or identity to try to change checkout eligibility.

Ahrefs lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and UnionPay among its accepted card methods. Its FAQ describes credit or debit card payment for Lite, Standard, and Advanced. That list does not establish that any particular Coinepay card or transaction will be accepted. If checkout shows a card-type or card-country requirement, contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets it before you buy.

Choose the right Ahrefs plan

Ahrefs lists Ahrefs Free, Starter, Lite, Standard, Advanced, and Enterprise as its core plans. At the time of writing (October 2026), the US-dollar prices displayed on Ahrefs’ pricing page were $0 for Ahrefs Free, $29 per month for Starter, $129 per month for Lite, $249 per month for Standard, and $449 per month for Advanced. Enterprise started from $1,499 per month with an annual commitment. Check the official Ahrefs pricing page for current prices, plan features, and the amount offered in your location; displayed prices exclude applicable taxes and fees.

Starter is monthly-only. Ahrefs offers annual billing for eligible Lite, Standard, Advanced, and Enterprise plans and describes eligible annual pricing as 12 months for the price of 10. Review the billing interval at checkout: the amount due for an annual purchase is different from a monthly charge. Brand Radar AI and custom prompt packages are listed separately, so check whether anything you select is part of your intended purchase.

If you already subscribe, your existing plan’s price or limits may differ from what the current pricing page shows. Review your account and the renewal amount before replacing a saved card or retrying an invoice.

How to subscribe and pay at Ahrefs checkout

  1. Open Ahrefs’ official pricing page. Compare the plans and select Get started for the option you want. For Enterprise, follow the purchase process Ahrefs presents; Enterprise customers can arrange invoice or wire-transfer payment rather than relying on a standard self-service card checkout.
  2. Complete the Ahrefs sign-up steps. Enter the email you intend to use for your Ahrefs login. Follow the prompts shown for your selected plan. The precise sequence of account creation and checkout screens may vary.
  3. Review the order. Confirm the plan, monthly or annual billing interval, currency, taxes, fees, and total due. Ahrefs says USD is its only fixed-price currency; amounts shown in national currencies can change. Use the current checkout total as your reference.
  4. Enter your Coinepay card details. Copy the card number, expiry date, and CVV from Coinepay into the card fields Ahrefs provides. Enter your genuine billing name and address as requested. Check for typing mistakes before submitting.
  5. Complete any payment verification. If a card authentication step appears, follow the instructions presented by the payment flow. Do not repeatedly submit the payment while a verification screen is still open.
  6. Check the result. Look for a confirmation from Ahrefs and verify that the subscription appears in your Ahrefs account. If the result is unclear, check your email and account before attempting another payment to avoid an unintended duplicate purchase.

Keep a record of the plan and billing interval you selected. If you are purchasing for a business, use billing information that accurately represents the payer; Coinepay and Ahrefs may require additional checks under their respective processes.

What to do if your card payment is declined

Ahrefs documents messages including “Failed payment” and “payment attempt failed”, particularly for a scheduled subscription payment. Those messages alone do not identify the reason. Work through the checks below before retrying.

Check the available amount

Compare the available funds for your Coinepay card with the full amount Ahrefs is charging, not just the headline monthly price. Annual billing, applicable taxes, or fees can change what is due. If you use a business card with a custom spending limit, check that the limit permits the purchase. Review your Coinepay account for the card’s current details and any transaction information available there.

Check billing details and verification

Recheck the card number, expiry date, CVV, and the real billing details you entered. A mismatch or typing error is worth correcting before another attempt. If checkout requests 3-D Secure or another authentication step, complete the prompt as presented; if it closes or fails, restart the payment flow and follow the new prompt. These are general troubleshooting checks, not confirmed diagnoses for a particular Ahrefs decline.

Check merchant and regional requirements

A merchant or payment processor may apply card or region checks. If Ahrefs displays a specific restriction, do not change your location or provide inaccurate details to work around it. Ask Ahrefs what its checkout requires and contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets that requirement. Availability can also depend on the jurisdiction and applicable rules; neither a listed card method nor a visible plan guarantees approval.

Retry a failed recurring invoice correctly

If the failure concerns an existing Ahrefs subscription, use the Pay Now link in Ahrefs’ invoice email or find View Invoices in the dashboard or account settings. Ahrefs may then ask you to accept terms and proceed to a checkout page to enter payment details. If the retry still fails, use the details of the attempt when contacting Ahrefs about the invoice or Coinepay about the card transaction. Avoid sending your full card number or CVV in a support message.

Manage your card and subscription after payment

In Ahrefs, saved cards are under Account Settings → Billing → Payment Methods. Depending on your account’s billing system, changing a card may open a Chargebee or Stripe payment-method screen. Follow the screen shown and make the replacement card Primary in Chargebee or Default in Stripe, as applicable. Confirm that the intended card is selected for future charges.

To stop renewing, go to Account Settings → Billing → Subscriptions and follow Ahrefs’ cancellation steps. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid billing period; access continues until then, after which the account moves to the free tier. Ahrefs does not generally issue refunds. Its pricing page says an unused monthly subscription may be eligible for a refund request, but Ahrefs may decline one if there has been material account activity. Check its current terms before purchasing if refund eligibility matters to you.

If you need help with card details or a Coinepay transaction, use Coinepay support. For questions about plan access, invoices, or Ahrefs’ decision to accept a payment, contact Ahrefs through its official support channels.
