If you are living or working in the United Arab Emirates and need to send money home to family, a supplier or a friend in Pakistan, Coinepay Global Remittance lets you set up the transfer from your phone and track it to the end. This guide walks through what you need, the payout methods you can choose, and how to handle common problems. Coinepay supports transfers from the UAE to Pakistan, with bank deposit, mobile wallet and cash pickup payout options.

Before you start: what the sender needs

To send money from the UAE to Pakistan you need a Coinepay account with completed identity verification (KYC). Cross-border transfers are subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and local regulations, so your account must be verified before you can confirm a transfer. You will also be asked for the purpose of the payment and, in some cases, evidence of your source of funds—UAE financial institutions are required to capture this information for cross-border payments. Have your details ready so the transfer is not held up.

If you do not yet have an account, you can register with Coinepay and complete verification first. The whole process is managed from the 24/7 dashboard or the Coinepay app for iOS and Android.

The recipient's local currency and details

Pakistan's local currency is the Pakistani rupee (PKR). What you collect from your recipient depends on the payout method you choose, but in every case you need the recipient's full legal name exactly as it appears on their ID or bank account. A mismatched name is one of the most common causes of delays and returns.

Bank deposit

For a deposit into a Pakistani bank account, you need the recipient's full name and the receiving account's IBAN. A Pakistan IBAN is 24 characters, starts with PK, and contains two check digits, a four-letter bank identifier and a 16-character account field. Pakistan's published IBAN format has no separate branch-identifier field, so a standalone branch code is not a universal substitute for the IBAN—always use the full IBAN. Note that IFSC, CLABE and US-style routing numbers are not Pakistan account formats; whether Coinepay also asks for anything else is shown in the transfer flow.

Banks commonly used for payouts in Pakistan include HBL, UBL, Meezan Bank, MCB Bank, Bank Alfalah and Allied Bank. If your transfer is routed as a SWIFT wire, you may also need the receiving bank's SWIFT/BIC and any routing or intermediary-bank instructions that bank supplies; the name, address and account are checked when the payment is set up.

Mobile wallet

Pakistan's widely used mobile wallets include Easypaisa and JazzCash. To send to a wallet, you generally need the recipient's full name and their registered mobile wallet number. One important caution: a JazzCash wallet receives an international remittance when you select JazzCash as the payout method—do not enter JazzCash's published Payoneer-linking IBAN as if it were your recipient's personal wallet IBAN. Follow the fields Coinepay presents for the wallet option.

Note also that Raast IDs are local to Pakistan and are not a general identifier for sending an international transfer directly from the UAE, so do not expect to use a Raast ID in place of wallet or bank details.

Cash pickup

For cash pickup, the recipient collects the money in person. They will need the transfer reference or tracking number and a government-issued photo ID—typically a CNIC, NICOP or passport—with a name that matches the name you entered. Make sure the name you type matches their ID precisely.

Step-by-step: sending the transfer

  1. Open Global Remittance. Sign in to the Coinepay app or dashboard and start a new transfer.
  2. Choose the destination and currency. Select Pakistan as the destination and PKR as the payout currency.
  3. Select the payout method. Pick bank deposit, mobile wallet (for example Easypaisa or JazzCash) or cash pickup, then enter the recipient details required for that method as described above.
  4. Enter the amount and purpose. Add the amount you want to send and the purpose of the payment. Provide any source-of-funds information if prompted.
  5. Review the exchange rate and fees. Coinepay shows you the exchange rate and fees clearly before you confirm. Check the amount your recipient will receive in PKR and confirm the recipient name and account details are correct.
  6. Confirm. Once you are happy with everything, confirm the transfer. Your account may undergo sanctions and compliance screening at this point.
  7. Track the status. Every transfer has status tracking. Follow it in the app from submitted through to paid out, and share the reference with your recipient when needed.

Recipient-side considerations

Pakistan does not generally restrict the receipt of remittances from abroad, but that does not waive identity checks, account conditions or transaction reporting. Pakistan's authorized dealers report foreign-exchange transactions, and some reporting applies at higher value thresholds; this is reporting, not a cap on what your recipient can receive. On the UAE side, exchange businesses apply enhanced due diligence to larger outward transfers and may require evidence of source of funds for cash-funded transfers.

Keep in mind that certain receiving account types can affect whether a payout succeeds—for example, some basic or limited accounts may have conditions on the amounts they can receive. Ask your recipient to confirm their account can accept an inward international remittance before you send.

Troubleshooting

Wrong recipient details

An incorrect recipient name, IBAN or account number, or SWIFT/BIC can delay a wire or stop it crediting correctly. Double-check every character with your recipient before you confirm. If you notice a mistake after sending, contact Coinepay support as soon as possible.

Compliance review

Transfers can be paused for identity or regulatory checks. Coinepay may ask for documents such as the purpose of the transfer or your source of funds. Respond promptly and accurately—never split a transfer, use a third party or try to work around checks or reporting, as this can cause the transfer to fail.

Delays

Agent opening hours, time-zone differences, required recipient action and routine checks can all affect when a payout lands. For cash pickup especially, the recipient needs to be available with valid ID. Use the status tracker to see where your transfer is.

Returned or cancelled transfers

An inward remittance may be cancelled if the beneficiary is unavailable, and the receiving institution is required to report such a cancellation. Transfers can also be returned if the receiving account cannot accept them. If your transfer is returned, check the details with your recipient and resubmit, or reach out to support for help.
