Sending money from Saudi Arabia to India is one of the most common remittance routes in the world, whether you are supporting family, paying a bill or settling with a partner. With Coinepay Global Remittance you can do it from the self-service dashboard or the mobile app, with the exchange rate and fees shown clearly before you confirm. This guide walks through what you need, the payout methods you can choose and how to track the transfer.

Coinepay supports transfers to India from Saudi Arabia. You send in Saudi riyal (SAR) and your recipient is paid out in Indian rupee (INR). Every transfer is subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and local regulations, and Coinepay may ask for supporting documents such as the purpose or source of funds.

Before you start: what the sender needs

To send money you need a Coinepay account with identity verification (KYC) completed. If you have not registered yet, create an account and finish verification first, then download the app from the App Store or Google Play.

You will also need accurate details for the person receiving the money. Collect these from the recipient directly and double-check them, because a single wrong digit can delay or return a transfer:

  • Recipient's full legal name exactly as it appears on their bank account or ID.
  • The payout details for the method you choose (see below).
  • Often a purpose of transfer — for example family maintenance or a specific payment reason.

Choose a payout method for India

India supports several local payout options. Pick the one that suits your recipient, and gather the matching details.

Bank account deposit

This credits money straight into the recipient's Indian bank account. For a bank payout to India you typically need:

  • Account-holder name (must match the bank records).
  • Account number.
  • IFSC — the 11-character Indian Financial System Code that identifies the bank and branch.

If the transfer is routed as a direct international bank wire rather than a local deposit, the recipient's bank may instead ask for its SWIFT/BIC code together with the account number and account-holder name, plus a purpose code for the incoming funds. Ask the recipient's bank for its own wire instructions; do not substitute an IFSC-only instruction for a wire. Note that India does not use IBAN as a standard receiving format, so you should not expect to enter an Indian IBAN.

Mobile wallets

India's inward-remittance rules allow qualifying agents to credit eligible personal remittances into full-KYC wallets, and some providers can credit a bank account via a UPI ID. Wallet and UPI payouts are subject to Indian regulatory caps on that channel. In the Coinepay app, choose the destination and the available payout methods for India will be displayed; select a wallet or UPI payout only if it is shown for this route, and enter the exact details the app requests (for example the recipient's UPI ID or registered wallet identifier).

Cash pickup

Cash pickup lets the recipient collect funds in person at a payout location. For this method the recipient usually needs their full name exactly as entered, a valid government photo ID, and any reference or tracking number you share with them. Under India's money transfer scheme rules, cash payouts are generally capped at a set amount per remittance, and larger amounts are usually paid to a bank account instead.

Step-by-step: send the transfer

  1. Log in to the Coinepay dashboard or mobile app and open Global Remittance.
  2. Choose the destination: select India, and set Saudi Arabia / SAR as your sending side. Pick INR as the payout currency.
  3. Select the payout method — bank deposit, mobile wallet/UPI, or cash pickup — from the options shown for this route.
  4. Enter the recipient details for that method: full legal name, and the account number and IFSC, or the SWIFT/BIC, or the wallet/UPI ID, or the cash-pickup details. Enter the purpose of the transfer if asked.
  5. Review the exchange rate and fees. Coinepay shows the rate and all fees clearly before you confirm, along with the amount your recipient should receive. Read this summary carefully.
  6. Confirm the transfer. You may be asked to verify your identity or provide documents such as the purpose or source of funds as part of compliance checks.
  7. Track the status. Every transfer has status tracking in the app, so you can follow it from submitted through to paid out. Share the reference number with your recipient if they need it for cash pickup.

Recipient-side considerations in India

A few things are decided by the receiving institution in India, not by Coinepay:

  • Banks may ask the recipient to confirm the purpose of the incoming funds and may require a valid purpose code; for some receipts a Foreign Inward Remittance Certificate (FIRC) can be requested. What is needed depends on the transaction, not every receipt.
  • India's money transfer scheme rules apply to personal inward remittances such as family maintenance and carry their own per-remittance and annual caps and cash-payout limits; these are channel-specific rules, not limits set by Coinepay.
  • The recipient's name must match the account-holder name on record. Verify spelling before you send.

Troubleshooting

Wrong recipient details

Incorrect account numbers, an invalid IFSC, or a mismatch between the recipient's name and the account-holder name can prevent a correct payout. Check every field with the recipient before confirming. If you have already sent and spot an error, contact Coinepay support as soon as possible.

Compliance review

Transfers are screened against sanctions lists and may be paused for identity or regulatory checks. Coinepay may request documents such as the purpose or source of funds. Respond promptly and accurately to release the transfer. Never split a transfer, use a third party, or try to work around checks — doing so can cause the transfer to be rejected.

Delays

Availability can be affected by identity or regulatory checks, action the recipient needs to take, payout-location hours and time-zone differences between Saudi Arabia and India. A wire that lacks required sender or beneficiary information — for example a missing or invalid purpose code — can be held by the Indian receiving institution. Use the status tracker to see where the transfer is.

Returned transfers

If an incoming wire is missing required details or cannot be matched to a valid account, the receiving bank may reject or return it. When that happens, the funds are typically sent back through the same channel. Review the details, correct them with your recipient's help, and resend. For anything unresolved, reach out through the support page or the Coinepay Telegram.

Important notes

Coinepay sends to every country and region except jurisdictions under comprehensive sanctions, and all customers and counterparties are screened against sanctions lists. Always use your real identity and the recipient's real details. Some services are not available in every jurisdiction, and services related to virtual assets are not available to residents of mainland China. Card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions. For more, see the Coinepay home page.

FAQ

What details do I need to send money to an Indian bank account?

For a bank deposit you generally need the recipient's full legal name as it appears on the account, their account number and the 11-character IFSC. For a direct international wire, the recipient's bank may instead require its SWIFT/BIC, the account number and a purpose code. Ask the recipient's bank for its exact instructions.

Do I need an Indian IBAN to send money to India?

No. India does not use IBAN as a standard receiving format, so you should not expect to enter one. Use the account number with the IFSC for a local deposit, or the SWIFT/BIC for an international wire.

What payout methods can my recipient in India use?

Depending on what is shown for this route in the Coinepay app, you can choose bank account deposit, mobile wallet or UPI payout, or cash pickup. Select the method that suits your recipient and enter the matching details the app requests.

How much will the transfer cost and what exchange rate will I get?

Coinepay shows the exchange rate and all fees clearly in the app before you confirm, along with the amount your recipient should receive. Review that summary on the confirmation screen before you send.

Why might my transfer to India be delayed or returned?

Common causes include wrong account details, a name that does not match the account holder, a missing or invalid purpose code, or a pending compliance review. Identity checks, recipient action, payout-location hours and time-zone differences can also affect timing. Use the status tracker and contact Coinepay support if needed.
