If you live or work in Saudi Arabia and need to support family, pay a supplier or settle a bill in Egypt, Coinepay Global Remittance lets you send a cross-border transfer and track it from one place. This guide walks through what the sender needs, the local payout methods you can choose for Egypt, and how to review the rate and fees before you confirm. Coinepay supports transfers to Egypt from Saudi Arabia.

You manage everything from the Coinepay 24/7 self-service dashboard or the mobile app for iOS and Google Play. If you are new, create an account and complete identity verification first.

Before you start: what the sender needs

Every cross-border transfer is subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and local regulations in both countries. To keep your transfer moving, have the following ready:

  • A verified Coinepay account. You must finish KYC before you can send. Card and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions.
  • The recipient's full legal name exactly as it appears on their official ID or bank records.
  • The payout details for the method you choose (see below).
  • The purpose of the transfer and your relationship to the recipient. Saudi wire-transfer rules require sending institutions to obtain and verify sender and recipient details, a traceable transfer reference, the purpose of the transfer and the relationship between the parties. Coinepay may also ask for documents such as the source of funds.

The local currency in Egypt is the Egyptian pound (EGP). Many payout routes deliver funds in EGP, so confirm with your recipient which method and currency works best for them.

Choose your payout method

Coinepay supports the common local payout methods. Pick the one that suits your recipient and gather the matching details.

Bank account deposit

Funds are credited to the recipient's Egyptian bank account. You will typically need:

  • The recipient's full name as held by their bank.
  • Their Egyptian IBAN. An Egyptian IBAN is 29 characters: the country code EG, two check digits, a four-digit bank code, a four-digit branch code and a 17-digit account component. The bank and branch codes are already built into the IBAN.
  • The bank's SWIFT/BIC if the transfer route requires it. Confirm the correct BIC directly with the receiving bank. An IFSC, CLABE or similar routing number is not a standard requirement for receiving money in Egypt.

Direct bank deposit usually requires a local-currency (EGP) payout account. A word of caution: ask your recipient to give you their IBAN, not a card number. Using a card number in place of an account number is a common cause of failed crediting.

Mobile wallet

Egyptian mobile wallets can receive cross-border funds. Common wallets include Vodafone Cash, Orange Cash and BM Wallet. For a wallet payout you generally need:

  • The recipient's full name.
  • The mobile number linked to the wallet.

The recipient's wallet must be registered to them with a valid national ID and a mobile number whose registration matches their details, or they may not be able to receive or withdraw the funds. Wallets can also carry per-transaction and monthly caps set by the local provider, so a very large amount may suit a bank deposit instead.

Cash pickup

Your recipient can collect the funds in cash at a participating agent location in Egypt. For this method you will usually need:

  • The recipient's full legal name exactly as on the government-issued ID they will present.
  • Any reference or transfer number Coinepay provides, which you then share with the recipient.

Cash pickup depends on agent opening hours, local currency availability and the recipient bringing valid identification, so coordinate timing with them.

Step by step: send the transfer

  1. Sign in to the Coinepay app or dashboard and open Global Remittance.
  2. Choose the destination and currency. Select Egypt as the destination from Saudi Arabia and choose the payout currency, typically EGP for local payouts.
  3. Select the payout method — bank deposit, mobile wallet or cash pickup — and enter the recipient details for that method (full name plus IBAN, wallet mobile number, or cash-pickup details).
  4. Enter the amount you want to send or the amount you want the recipient to receive.
  5. Review the exchange rate and fees. Coinepay shows the rate and all fees clearly before you confirm, along with the amount your recipient should receive. Check every field, especially the IBAN or wallet number, before continuing.
  6. Provide the purpose and relationship if prompted, and upload any supporting documents requested.
  7. Confirm the transfer.
  8. Track the status. Every transfer has status tracking in the app, so you can follow it from submitted through to paid out.
Double-check the recipient's name and account details against something official before you confirm. Small errors are the most common reason a transfer is delayed or returned.

Recipient-side considerations

Egyptian banks run compliance checks covering customer identity, transaction monitoring and source of funds. On larger or first-time incoming payments, the recipient's bank may ask them to confirm information before the money can be used. For wallet payouts, the recipient should make sure their wallet is active and registered in their own name. For cash pickup, they must bring valid ID matching the name on the transfer.

Troubleshooting

Wrong recipient details

An incorrect IBAN or account number can stop the funds from being credited correctly. If you spot a mistake before payout, check the transfer status and contact Coinepay support right away. Remember that a card number is not an account number — always use the IBAN for bank deposits.

Compliance review

Transfers may pause for identity verification, sanctions screening or a source-of-funds check. Respond promptly to any request for the transfer purpose, your relationship to the recipient, or supporting documents. Missing sender or recipient information can lead to a transfer being held or, under Saudi remittance rules, returned if a request for missing information goes unanswered.

Delays

Payout can be slowed by identification requirements, an action the recipient still needs to take, local currency availability, regulatory steps, agent opening hours or time-zone differences. Check the live status first; if it looks stuck, contact support with your transfer reference.

Returned transfers

If a transfer is rejected or returned — for example because of unmatched details or unanswered compliance requests — the status will update accordingly. Confirm the corrected recipient details and resend, and reach out to support if you need help understanding the reason.

Important limits on service

Coinepay sends to every country and region except jurisdictions under comprehensive sanctions (such as Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria and the occupied regions of Ukraine). All customers and counterparties are screened against sanctions lists, and Coinepay does not serve sanctioned persons. Never try to avoid these checks by splitting a transfer or using a third party. Some services are not available in every jurisdiction and are not offered to residents of mainland China.

FAQ

What details do I need to send money to a bank account in Egypt?

You need the recipient's full legal name and their 29-character Egyptian IBAN, which begins with EG and already contains the bank and branch codes. Some routes also ask for the bank's SWIFT/BIC, which you should confirm with the receiving bank. Use the IBAN, not a card number.

Which payout methods can I choose for Egypt?

Coinepay supports bank account deposit (usually in EGP), mobile wallets such as Vodafone Cash, Orange Cash and BM Wallet, and cash pickup at participating agent locations. Choose the one that best suits your recipient and enter the matching details in the app.

How much will it cost and what exchange rate will I get?

Coinepay shows the exact exchange rate and all fees clearly before you confirm, along with the amount your recipient will receive. Review these on screen during the transfer, as they can vary.

Why might my transfer to Egypt be delayed or returned?

Common causes include incorrect IBAN or account details, missing sender or recipient information, compliance or source-of-funds reviews, local currency availability, and agent hours or time-zone differences for cash pickup. Check the status and contact support with your reference number.

Do I need to verify my identity before sending?

Yes. You must register and complete KYC in the Coinepay app before sending. Transfers are also subject to sanctions screening and local regulations, and Coinepay may ask for the transfer purpose, your relationship to the recipient, or source-of-funds documents.
