Coinepay Global Remittance supports transfers from Kuwait to India. You can prepare a transfer in the Coinepay app or self-service dashboard, see the exchange rate and fees before confirming, and track its status afterward. The details you need depend on whether your recipient will receive a bank deposit, an available mobile-wallet payout or cash pickup.

What to prepare before sending

Register for a Coinepay account and complete identity verification before starting a transfer. Use your real identity and accurate details for both you and the recipient. Have the recipient’s full legal name as it appears on their bank account or identity document, plus a truthful description of why you are sending the money. Coinepay may request documents about the transfer’s purpose or the source of funds.

Kuwait’s currency is the Kuwaiti dinar (KWD), while India’s local payout currency is the Indian rupee (INR). Select the sending and receiving currencies shown for your chosen route, then check the quoted exchange rate, fees and recipient amount before you confirm. Available payout options and any additional fields will appear during setup; check the app rather than assuming that every option is offered for every transfer.

Choose how the recipient will get the money

Bank account deposit

For an INR deposit to an Indian bank account, ask the recipient for their bank-issued account number and the bank’s 11-character Indian Financial System Code (IFSC). You will normally also need the account holder’s full legal name and payment purpose; the bank name may be requested. IFSC identifies the Indian bank branch for domestic routing. Its format is four letters, a zero, and six further branch characters. Copy the code from the recipient’s banking details instead of relying on a branch name or a search result.

India does not use a national IBAN format. Do not turn an Indian account number into an invented IBAN. If the transfer flow specifically requests a SWIFT/BIC for a direct international bank wire, obtain the receiving bank’s instructions from the recipient: some Indian branches use another office’s SWIFT code rather than having their own. An IFSC and a SWIFT/BIC serve different routing purposes, so provide whichever details the selected payout flow requests. Do not substitute one for the other.

Ask the recipient to confirm that the account can receive the payment and that its registered name matches the name you enter. The receiving bank may ask the recipient for information about the incoming funds before making them available.

Mobile wallet, if offered

Coinepay supports mobile-wallet payouts as a remittance method, but the wallet choices available for a particular Kuwait-to-India transfer must be checked in the app. Do not assume that a UPI ID or a particular Indian wallet can receive this transfer simply because it works for domestic payments. UPI generally routes to a linked bank account; it is not itself a cash wallet. Eligible inward remittances may reach participating UPI-linked accounts, but that does not establish availability for this specific route.

If the app offers a mobile-wallet option for your recipient, select the listed provider and enter the identifier it requests, such as a registered mobile number or wallet details. Ask the recipient to confirm that the wallet is in their legal name, is active, and meets any verification requirements shown by the provider. Some Indian prepaid wallets require full identity verification to receive eligible inward remittances. If the desired wallet or UPI option does not appear, choose another available payout method rather than entering wallet information in a bank-account field.

Cash pickup

If cash pickup is offered for the transfer, select it and enter the recipient’s legal name exactly as it appears on the identification they will present. Before confirming, review the available collection instructions and tell the recipient where to find the pickup information. The recipient should bring acceptable identification and any transfer reference or other information specified in the instructions. They should check the pickup location’s hours and requirements before travelling.

Cash pickup is subject to local rules and the payout partner’s checks. In India, personal inward remittances handled under the Money Transfer Service Scheme (MTSS) have specific permitted purposes and cash-payout restrictions. The app will show the payout options available for the transfer; if cash pickup is not offered, consider an available bank deposit instead. Do not use a personal cash-pickup route for trade, investment, property purchases or charitable contributions.

How to send money from Kuwait to India

  1. Sign in to your verified account. Open the Coinepay mobile app or self-service dashboard. If you have not registered, create an account and complete the identity checks requested for your transfer.
  2. Start a Global Remittance transfer. Choose Kuwait as the sending location and India as the destination, then select the sending and receiving currencies offered for the route. Enter the amount using the field provided.
  3. Select a payout method. Choose from the methods displayed for this transfer. For a bank deposit, enter the recipient’s legal name, actual account number and IFSC, plus any bank or SWIFT details specifically requested. For an offered wallet or cash-pickup option, supply the recipient details required on screen.
  4. State the payment purpose accurately. Enter the requested reason for sending and provide any additional information or documents requested. For example, family support and a personal gift are different purposes; describe the actual transaction rather than choosing a convenient label.
  5. Review before confirming. Compare the recipient’s name, payout details, destination, currency, exchange rate, fees and displayed recipient amount with what you intended. Coinepay shows the exchange rate and fees before you confirm. Correct any discrepancy before proceeding.
  6. Confirm and track the transfer. Submit the transfer and use its status tracking in the Coinepay app or dashboard. Keep the transfer reference and share pickup information with the recipient only when needed.

What the recipient may need to do in India

For a bank deposit, the recipient should monitor the correct account and respond if their bank asks them to verify their identity or explain the payment. For an offered mobile-wallet payout, they should check the account associated with the identifier supplied and complete any wallet-provider verification or claim steps. For cash pickup, they should follow the collection instructions and bring the required identification. A recipient-side request for information does not necessarily mean the transfer has failed.

The purpose and receiving channel matter. India’s MTSS rules apply to qualifying inward personal remittances, not every international bank transfer. MTSS is not a route for trade or investment payments or credits to NRE accounts. If you are paying an Indian supplier or trading partner, describe the business purpose accurately and use an appropriate payment route offered in Coinepay, with the transaction records requested. Transfers are subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and applicable local regulations; Coinepay does not serve sanctioned persons or destinations under comprehensive sanctions.

Troubleshooting a transfer

  • Wrong recipient or bank details: If you notice an incorrect name, account number or IFSC, check the transfer status and contact Coinepay support promptly with the reference and correct details. Do not assume a confirmed deposit can be edited or recalled. An incorrect account number may cause a failed payment or a deposit to an unintended account.
  • Compliance review: Provide any requested identity, source-of-funds or purpose documents through the appropriate Coinepay process. Banks may also seek clarification about incomplete recipient information or an unclear payment purpose. Give accurate answers; do not submit a replacement transfer to avoid a review.
  • Pending or delayed payout: Check status tracking first. Recipient action, bank or wallet checks, cash-pickup location hours and time-zone differences can affect progress. Ask the recipient whether their bank or payout provider has requested anything, then contact support if the status needs explanation.
  • Returned transfer: If a receiving institution rejects the payment, use the transfer status and support to understand the reason and next steps. Verify the recipient’s details and payout eligibility before starting another transfer. Review any new exchange-rate and fee information separately before confirming it.

FAQ

Does an Indian bank account need an IBAN to receive money from Kuwait?

No. India does not use a national IBAN format. For an INR bank deposit, use the recipient’s actual account number and IFSC, plus any other details requested in the transfer flow.

Can I send to an Indian UPI ID or mobile wallet?

Check the payout options shown for your Kuwait-to-India transfer. Do not assume a UPI ID or a particular wallet is available. If a wallet option appears, enter only the recipient identifier requested for it.

What does a recipient need for cash pickup in India?

The recipient needs identification matching the legal name on the transfer and any reference or other information specified in the pickup instructions. They should check the location’s requirements and hours.

When will I see the exchange rate and fees?

Coinepay displays the exchange rate and fees before you confirm the transfer. Review them alongside the recipient amount and payout details.
